Her voice borderline cracking at that scene fucking made it. Unironically. Was that rosa's true voice or was it edited? Because she nailed it.
James Turner
I've felt like a loser my whole life. And I've pretty much accepted that. But when I walked out of the theater, I could feel something inside me that said I wasn't a loser and that I could be better. I just have to try. I have to work hard, I have to not give up.
I did IMAX and the sound was great. Felt every hit and bass drop. Is Dolby Atmos that much better? Because I've been in an FDX Dolby screen and I'd prefer the IMAX. It might also be the layout of that theater because it's flat seating for like 10 rows and then stadium, so you're too far bad for the larger screen size to have any impact, whereas that IMAX fills your vision fully.
Austin Thompson
>completely missing out on teenage love like Alita because you're genetic shit unworthy of being loved
It probably only costs like $100-300 bucks to pay off writers for shit like this. That's chump change for Disney and an easy payday for the author.
Jacob Perry
Water Lilies
Jack Rivera
IMAX 3D with Laser is your best option, though it may be hard to find a screening that offers that at this point. The film was made for 3D and only the IMAX version has expanded AR scenes.
Dolby Atmos is great sound, and you may find it with RealD 3D or Dolby Cinema screenings. IMAX has their own sound system so you will never hear Dolby Atmos paired with one, but Atmos is probably the superior sound regardless.
If the IMAX near you is small, I would go with Dolby Cinema in 3D.
Henry Rogers
could be worse. you could have a girl next door that emotionally manipulated your beta ass who thought you had a chance.
happened to me
she also scared off another girl who liked me saying we were dating and ruined my chance at love
i think she was raped desu. i hope she was anyway.
Adrian Powell
She doesn't need to- the point for waifus is to better yourself with a fictional point of reference to keep you from straying from the path. Hence /healedbyarita/
Jonathan Fisher
I saw it 2x in IMAX and it was great. The 3d and sound in imax is way better than a regular theater. If dolby you mean 3d where you get the active glasses then maybe thats even better still, but I didnt' have a chance to try it (I would if there was one nearby)

>This song sums perfectly my feelings about this movie.
I have no idea what my local IMAX is for projection other than it is officially IMAX. It was built only like 6 years ago. I did notice the two projectors, so having real 3D is special.
Generally, will new theaters make efforts to have multiple massive screens? It makes business sense along with recliners.
Sebastian Smith
>I've felt like a loser my whole life. And I've pretty much accepted that. But when I walked out of the theater, I could feel something inside me that said I wasn't a loser and that I could be better. I just have to try. I have to work hard, I have to not give up.
that's so fucking similar to what i felt like when i left br2049. these two movies need to be investigated because clearly they're touching us at such a fundementally similar emotional level that it's extremely unsettling to me.
Went for my 4th viewing today at IMAX Melbourne in Australia, I've never been there before but it's supposedly the largest screen in the world. This was probably my most enjoyable viewing so far, the experience was fantastic especially with the surround sound. Can't recommend it enough, if you love Alita and haven't seen it in IMAX yet you are doing yourself a disservice
she lost her dad a few years ago from lung cancer must have been a traumatic experience I'm sure she channeled that in her sad scenes because she was pretty good you can even hear her whimpering like a wounded puppy, Jesus...
the 2nd and third viewing that scene made me shake a little not even lying. a little detail i noticed is how hugo looks at her chest a little regretfully after she puts the heart away but ultimately is still a good guy and refuses it. wtf i love hugo now?
Elijah Carter
I paid $14 for a Wednesday matinee. Definitely worth it.

I can't wait to see Alita cutting people up. My little Battle Angel Can't Possibly Be This Cute!
Melb IMAX is beautiful and I loved my viewing there with my dad
I just could not stop smiling during the bar fight it's so perfect

I read that Rosa loves this arc and really wants to play Alita as a cyberpunk western heroine. I love all her gadgets and giant butterfly knife in that part, it'll be badass.

Jordan Flores
Sorry guys I couldn't post any new .webms today. I ended up seeing the film again in theaters and I had to find a different copy of the film to make the videos of. Be back soon with them though.
I got premium seating, very expensive and I nearly ended up getting regular tickets but I decided that if I'm going to IMAX I may as well get the most out of it
William Myers
Found it: >“I have one very vivid shot that I would love to see as the opening shot,” Salazar tells Nerd Reactor. “Any fans of the manga would know what I’m talking about. It’s Alita and she’s on the ground and she’s got this cape on and her wild hair is blowing in the wind and she’s playing the harmonica. It’s like an ode to cowboys. She is a cowboy, she is a ronin, she is a lone wolf, and I would really love to see her wrestle with that in the second film or third one.” Source: nerdreactor.com/2019/02/23/rosa-salazar-alita-battle-angel-cowboy/

Just got back from my 8th viewing. There was a decent crowd there too

Vector seeing Chiren walking out of that door. He wanted to stop her but couldn’t because Nova was watching.
Luke Turner
Fuck, we are in for some goddamn kino if they really go with that. She will smile and be happy at points again, but she has matured a bit and will be more reserved than the naive attitude she had in the first film.
That credits song fucking sucked. Nearly soured my whole reception of the movie.
Jackson Williams
Your IMAX is probably one of those “LieMAX” screens. They’re better than any standard screen (IMAX sound is always good), but they are not the full IMAX experience. Two projectors are standard for any IMAX, even in 2D they use two projectors at the same time. If you haven’t seen the film in 3D, it’s still the best option, but if your theater also offers Dolby Cinema, it’s probably better overall since they have HDR Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and recliners.
Jaxson Gutierrez
The despair train have no breaks user. She will have some happiness moments but the sequel’s title would most definitely be Alita: Fallen Angel.
David Hernandez
Thats how i feel about going to movies in general, so I always see IMAX unless we're a group, but there's just one price for any seat here, I'm sure its not as fancy as yours.
Luke Cooper
>right after the kiss Hugo gently pulls her hair behind her ear
She would have melted if she wasn't made of superior mars technology
Rosa can keep playing Alita until she's an abuela. Brie, the Son of Lars, has like 5 years left.
Jack Howard
Is there a better copy out? I'd like to update the webms I made too
Juan Brooks
Shill accusers worse than any actual shills (which there are none). They’re just mad they missed out on a good movie and are too stubborn to think otherwise.
Daniel Howard
It should have just been the motorball theme and then grewishkas revenge.
Colton Adams
I don't think he cared about her at all
Hudson Cooper
>Brie, the Son of Lars Rest in peace, uncle Owen and aunt Beru.
Landon King
What constitutes premium? The US is finally starting to join the world in reserved seating, but for the most part all seats still cost the same unless it's maybe in a balcony that comes with other perks. There's a theater near me that does that, you pay for balcony seats and I think get popcorn included, maybe even valet?
Nolan Martinez
Teenage love isn’t all its cracked up to be. It ruined me. I’m in a different emotional situation but if I was a teen I probably would’ve killed myself.
Christopher Young
alright sorry for the late update both our girl and captain arsehole are gone I still feel the need to carry out vigilante justice against marvel posters though I think I’m a hunter warrior now and I will not stand by in the presence of Brievil
Premium seating wasn't too crazy, it basically guarantees you a backrow seat and the premium seats have feet and back recliners. The standard IMAX ticket in Melbourne is $30 so it was $12 extra. Normally it wouldn't be worth it imo but the theatre was packed so my only other alternative was to sit in the front row or on the extreme left/right, so I decided to shell out the extra $12 to get the backrow middle seat to make the experience a lot more enjoyable
Colton Ross
Ripping the brie off her face like a festering band-aid.
Cooper Foster
>threads
Again where the fuck are these idiots coming from? There's only one thread, it's called the story. This movie is remarkably simple because it only focuses on two characters, and barely even that.
Asher Reyes
I think it'd be too much to cram into the second movie, but I would die if the third opened on this scene with her playing a version of Gally's theme from the anime on her harmonica.
I can listen to the opinions of someone who liked Rogue One, TFA and even Solo - but TLJ is where I’m going to draw the line.
Jordan Rivera
They issue is they have to somehow distance her from Ido, since they had a much stronger connection in the film adaptation. I don't think they'll go full on manga, but carry some of the ideas. I do hope they do something with that image.
Jaxson Phillips
Eventually recliner seats will replace normal ones. It reduces the overall amount of audience in an auditorium and tickets sold, but it makes for a much better experience: fewer people to bother you, seat kicking is impossible, always in the best position because recliners are infinitely adjustable, seats are wider so you're never ontop of your neighbors. It solves like every problem there is about going to the movies.
Ayden Miller
>Vector is not all bad I think he is a total sociopath prick and a douchebag Alita was right to storm into the factory screaming VECTOR VECTOR I got almost Steven Seagal "anybody seen Richie??" vibes
Overall I liked the movie but one thing I didn't like was how they handled Hugo's ending and pussied out by making him just steal parts instead of spines. I didn't like how they changed his last ditch effort to get to Zolom to be mostly because he would be killed if stayed in the city instead of how in the manga where he was just despondent with life in general and just wanted to attain his life's dream of getting to Zolom.
Levi Long
nice, I like this kinda stuff, it gets old seeing the exact same clips over and over from the trailers tho
Benjamin Allen
Only in the third movie. The second is a continuous symphony of grief and loss, if they do not change the plot too much.
Oliver Thompson
They did keep in the idea of him still obsessed with getting into Zalem because he thought it would improve his life, as he kept telling her we belong up there. There are other hints throughout the film he did it too because he would do whatever it would take to get there, he was so dead set on it.
>half the people say there were too meany plot threads, and others say it was just a romance movie with some action
Luke Sullivan
So, it will mirror in a way the Star Wars 4, 5, 6 journey?
Bentley Richardson
How can such a blind, unfeeling idiot exist at all?
Angel Hill
>I got almost Steven Seagal "anybody seen Richie??" vibes
Close but I my vibes were more along the lines of Troy when Achilles calls out Hector. Very similar in the way they're both set up visually too with her sword hanging by her side.
This scene was amazing, the angel asking him, begging him, to walk down, asserting that Salem is evil and not the heaven it seems like due to it's placement Great stuff
Nicholas Ward
Yeah but they had to ride a fine line, they needed to make him a tragic character, not a douchebag for general audiences. They did pretty well overall I think.
Sebastian Sanchez
This. It's subtle, and it spans over pieces throughout the entire movie which you have to pay attention to, but it's there. Every time he's with Alita, he's balancing his thoughts of falling for her and attaining his dream of Zalem. Only when he's on death's door does he confess his love and say what did was a mistake, but when actually given a second chance, the very first thing he does is try and get to Zalem without Alita.
I think that's the crucial detail here. He confessed his love for her, but he tries to trek to Zalem without her, and it's HER who has to chase him down, not the other way around. Obviously he cared more about Zalem.
Austin Butler
star wars "fans" are neo lobotomy patients. i don't expect much from them and neither should you.
Brody Bell
That's just what I was thinking, hoping for this now.
Hunter Martin
There's no reason not to. Go back tomorrow and ask, unless a theater worker or another patron has already claimed it. But honestly, I think most theaters just toss that crap out and would gladly hand it over. You might even be able to snag a poster for their marque displays.
Nolan Bell
Couple years from now someone will post this and we will start to realize how creepy her smile is.
Lincoln Wood
Why do people keep saying Salem, it's Zalem
Juan Sanders
That would be an iconic cinematic scene if it is done right. I am already thinking a plot point about how Hugo left his harmoica as a gift to her along with the “Gally’s song” he was going to teach her to play.
Jaxson Davis
I never thought about it, but yes. Fortunately, the original was made according to the plot construction techniques adopted in the West and is strictly focused on the main character and its development.
Jace Torres
He's making a joke about Jerusalem.

It does look a bit off in that shot

I call it Salem to differentiate it from the manga/anime.
do you alitabros have any meditation tips so that I can run into Alita in my dreams tonight? How can I suggest my subconscious to manifest her into my dreams?
Chase Sanchez
I think the part stealing was fine. Spine stealing was too gruesome to make Hugo a sympathetic character.
Gabriel Walker
Mantra shoul be "I do not stand by in the presence of evil"
>Zack. Senior writer at vanity fair, she was defending another critic who gave Alita a bad review. Remember a lot of those bad reviews Alita has comes from vindication from what Cameron said about Wonder Woman

Sorry user, I was getting tired. I want to post more, but I need to bed soon or I won't have enough energy to see Alita again tomorrow.
Where does it say she read mars chronicles? Anyone can speed read a manga it means nothing, can she explain how the orbital ring system works? I can say i remember pretty scenes too
Chase Barnes
After the movie is out of theaters, but only before the blu ray release
I hope there's a nice collector's edition steelbook/neopack/digibook for it. The fucking 2017 Mummy reboot got retailer exclusives so if this doesn't, that would be big gay.
Elijah Thomas
The bidding would be nuts if one was ever put up for auction
To seek revenge from Alita. Turns out he was right about Hugo being a shitter, so it was kinda “justified” going against him
Juan Peterson
The opening scene is actually one of the best. Watching her being saved from the gutter and Ido's fatherly care as he brings her back to life really hits me.
>What are you dreaming about, little angel?
Ryder Nguyen
Goodnight my brothers, we will hit 100 within a few days
Just got back. Fuck you shills for convincing me to see this shitty movie Better than marvel though, I guess that is the standard for movies these days.
Jason Peterson
Sorry it wasn't your cuppa. I legit like it though,
I gotta say. The last movie that impressed me with its CG was war for PotA. I still remember being amazed at how realistic they all looked. Cameron really likes to push the envelope when it comes to movie tech, doesn't he?
Oh wow. It's always amazing to hear an actor in a comic book movie talk about comic shit that wasn't in their movie.
Oliver Hughes

ITS HAPPENING WE ARE PAST THE BREAK EVEN PROFITABILITY IS COMING ALITA IS BOOMING comicbook.com/anime/2019/03/01/alita-battle-angel-box-office-sequel-plans/ >Alita: Battle Angel has shattered (low) expectations for its performance of the box office, and the run is still ongoing. As of writing this, Alita: Battle Angel has made $286 million at the worldwide box office (on a $170M budget). The film has shown impressive staying power, still scoring in the top 3 a the US box office this week. cbr.com/alita-battle-angel-sequel-hopes-china/ >Alita could end its theatrical run with a combined $215 million from North America and China, with other international markets potentially pushing the film into the $400 million. That may not be a blockbuster with a capital "B," but it's not exactly a flop either. >And it could very well be enough for a sequel to receive a green light. forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2019/03/02/box-office-alita-battle-angel-how-to-train-your-dragon-taraji-p-henson-rebel-wilson-kevin-hart/#581442415d6c >'Alita: Battle Angel' Tops $300M screenrant.com/alita-movie-box-office-hit-prediction/ >Alita Will Prove Everybody Wrong And Be A Box Office Hit >The film got a major boost from Middle Kingdom audiences, scoring $64.8 million in its debut - a new record for Fox. Alita's actually made more in China so far than it has in America (domestic gross: $61.9 million), illustrating how much of a draw this property is for international audiences. Unsurprisingly, the movie's done very well globally, earning $265.7 million as of this writing. More than 76 percent of its total gross has come from foreign territories, making Alita the latest in a growing line of titles that have been saved by strong showings overseas. An easy comparison to make is Pacific Rim, which made $411 million worldwide and spawned a sequel despite a soft $101.8 million Stateside haul. WE MADE IT
As much as they changed shit for the Alita movie, it was still miles closer than all the bullshit chnages Snyder made to Wonder Woman. Fuck's sake. The retard couldn't even go with the right world war and kept with the stupid New52 parentage.
Ayden Walker
goddamn her eyes creep me out
Aaron Gutierrez
I like how she said she is as protective of Alita as the fans are.
Carson Martinez
Seriously imagine.
Adam Peterson
I mean, considering Edge Of Tomorrow, Pacific Rim, Mad Max Fury Road, and those other YA movies all got sequels, don't see why Alita can't with over 400 million.
Connor Williams
Imagine if Alita 2 or 3 did go full cowboy and Junkie XL decided to go full Morricone on the score?
looking at her face is like slipping into uncanny valley

Not yet user. We have a dragon in blocking our path and a Kree monster waiting up ahead. After slaying the dragon we will meet our arch nemesis. Both Alita and Captain Marvel sort of broke the 4th wall with Alita gettng love and a Brie Larson snapping away 50% of her audience.
Zachary Smith
That was cool
Leo Lee
About thirteen years ago I almost made one for a photo class project about cyborgs / cyberpunk. Well, the way Ido first finds her. Sadly I didn't have the time and money to spend on a side project in an elective class. Heh. I forget if that was before or after I wrote a term paper on real cybernetic arms.
Mad skills, very impressive. So many different techniques, including sewing on the eyebrows. And music that I actually liked. This Alita looked like Natalie Portman

>wtf i love hugo now? nobody likes Hugo at first until we realize how crucial he is to her development. He is a good man at heart but is prey to the society he lives in. He flat out tells her how society is and while succumbing to it, manages to defy it.

That's from the first trailer, where her eyes are bigger, buggier, and creepy. Can't wait for home video so that the Alita we saw in theatres will be properly immortalized.

What is 4DX like, and is that Alita thing a popcorn bucket?
Joseph Murphy
it's because of how perfect the characters face captured the raw emotion of resignation. note how she lowers head in defeat with an utterly destroyed look in her face. no quips, no false bravado, just that raw impending sense of doom is something we don't get anymore.
Tyler Ramirez
it's the only way to describe it. There's no irony, no tongue and cheek vibes. Every (cheesy) line of dialogue is delivered with 100% sincerity and it's just so absent from movies now. Alita was like finding water in a desert.
Alita is still essentially a human girl. You can make a girl feel this way if you're genuine and ready to risk your emotional state. Love is all or nothing, user.
Jack Flores
this, glad that gutter trash faggot is dead
However with him gone, Alita is sad therefore I am also sad.

Waking up at the beginning. no one can do that webm somehow

probs a question for the manga-fags but why did Mars attack Earth? It seems like Martian tech had a leg up on terran tech but what was the reason for war?

I know, it's an amazing film I told myself that 5 times were enough, but I want to see her again! Every time I notice another crucial detail It's amazing how much symbolism and attention to detail is packed into every second of the film
Chase White
not denying this but religious symbolism is pretty easy to make. Go a little deeper and realize that the setting is actually more gnostic than people realize.

Why do not enough people point out what a perfectly choreographed sequence the professional rollerball game early in the movie is?
I have to say, I don't care for Snyder movies, but damn, he sure knows how to dress
Justin Cox
I'm personally not a big fan of it, but some people like having wind blown in their face. Yes it's a popcorn bucket, been to the same theater chain in australia.
Charles Davis
Reminder businessinsider.com/zack-snyder-old-interview-batman-prison-rape-2016-5 >Everyone says that about "Batman Begins." "Batman's dark." I'm like, "Okay, no, Batman's cool." He gets to go to a Tibetan monastery and be trained by ninjas. Okay? I want to do that. But he doesn't, like, get raped in prison. That could happen in my movie. If you want to talk about dark, that's how that would go.
>Alita will never stalk you >Alita will never break into your house while you sleep and watch you until you wake up. >Alita will never love you just a little too much >Alita will never keep you in your room like it's a cage >You will never leave Alita because of the implications of what she would do to you. Obviously if you wanted to leave you could. Of course you could but you won't because of the implication
It can be easy to make, but I'm glad the film tries to incorporate that theme into the film heavily in it's story rather than just being surface level dressing. >I'd rather rule in hell than serve in heaven. As I wrote in another thread, many threads ago, Hugo's secret spot was changed to a church, lots of what his character stands for and his core flaws are that he's sucked up by this impossible dream to get to this heavenly place.
Oh god this faggot is all over TFW2005 banging on about Bumblebee isn't a flop, was so great etc. Complete faggot.
Robert Wright
>ywn have a cute cyborg girl so crazy in love with that she locks her eyes on you like you are the only thing that exists in her world >ywn have a cute cyborg girl unable to control her smile just because she sees you Hugo, you lucky dog
Orbital Earth developed several deep space terraforming ships. Solar system colonies we're having a rough time and wished this technology would save them. Orbital Earth denied them so Mars fucked it for everyone.
Josiah Gutierrez
Better looking than the movie uniform, that was probably my least favourite outfit for her, made her look kinda like a derpy Mega Man
Brayden Sanchez
So Snyder is pretty much a 14 year old tryhard edgelord writing fanfic....
Also, Kevin Smith beat him to it in Mallrats.
Liam Lopez
Yup, that's pretty much Snyder. I liked Man of Steel a lot, but having watched Sucker Punch his Alita wouldn't have had the same heart.
