I enjoy it for what it is and I thought giving Spock dyslexia is a near little touch that doesn’t ruin canon and humanizes him in a way that also makes him more heroic, as it’s a tangible relatable issue he had to overcome to become the Spock we all know. I like that we’re going back to Talos to resolve some of the loose ends, like why the Talosians were so familiar with Spock in the Menagerie.

Just finished DS9 myself and my thoughts exactly. They devote a total of 5 minutes to that plot in the final 1h30m episode. Sisko just goes "whoops, gotta go prophets lel" and tackles Dukat straight into Mount Doom.

The Spore Drive is bloody overpowered. Instead of a giant glowing blue mushroom network it should have some sort of scientific grounding. How about having it be based on Quantum Entanglement? Something like the teleportation from Half-Life? Have it's use restricted to some kind of subspace field generators being placed in areas of space, to set up these warp points. Have it utilise Einstein's Aether if you want.
