why was he hated again? he wanted to create a united professional army, he was the only person in kings landing worried about dany and her dragons, and he executed a man that was trying to usurp his throne

He wanted to allocate part of his army to go overtake Winterfell in Season 2 while Stannis was approaching Kings Landing. He was a step above retarded vegetable

>why was he hated again?
He acted like a vindictive, brutal little tyrant on a regular basis. You can argue that he had every reason to believe that Ned was a rebel, and his unified army idea was smart. But what explains his abuse of Sansa? Making her look at her dead father's head on a pike, having her stripped and beaten in front of the entire court? Ordering a knight to be brutally executed for arriving slightly late to a tournament? Wanting to move necessary troops away from King's Landing to go fight the North when they were desperately needed at home? Running away from the battle of the blackwater like a little bitch?

spawn of incest that tortured people for fun

>he executed a man that was trying to usurp his throne

Yes but by doing so he created a martyr. Sending Ned to the wall would've disgraced his family for years and they wouldn't have been able to do shit about it.

>acts exactly like the Mad King, who they had killed for being corrupt not too long ago
>has a penchant for murder and torture in a way that's satisfying to him in a perverted manner, which even creeps out those that kill on the battlefield and in the shadows
>had a man beheaded to start a needless war
>wanted to rape the redhead Stark on her wedding night to his imp uncle
>will not be counciled and is completely disobedient to his betters
>is not the rightful heir to the throne
>undeserved smugness
>is an incest baby
>is blond, not a haircolor for men
>is weak, can't fight and left his men to die on the battlefield when they needed his inspiration
>can't come up with war tactics and is bratty on the wall
>has to get his armored guard to hit little girls for him
>acted like a bitch when a little girl and her puppy beat him up
>is an idiot and everyone in the royal family mentions it every episode, even his mother
>is an incel virg- oh, one of Yea Forums

This, the people loved the stupid little cunt and considering the problems on their boarders and internally a puppet boy king is the best solution. Considering most of their problems are better left in the hands of a psycho or psychos who wants to keep the kingdom alive more so than a silly bitch with dragons more interested in keeping actual slaves/peasants happy than the lords of the realm that are required in the upcoming campaigns.

he had almost all the opposite qualities of a good king

Good thing he had a counsel eh? Someone like Geoffrey becomes easier to control once you understand his vices and he was only just coming of age.

>thinks being a good king means being a good person
That is rarely the case in the reality of medieval times. The strong survive and the weak perish, it was a time of war and hardship we can only scarcely dream of.

Problem is he basically strived for the opposite of what he had. He was a weak little bitch and wanted to act strong, he was evil as fuck but was shocked at people not loving him and never tried to be at least somewhat cunning

almost all rulers regarded as successful now, short of the few with incredibly successful conquering campaigns (Genghis Khan), were not sadistic

but joffrey was both a shitty person and bad king.
>first thing he does as a king is beheading a respected lord and upsetting all of the north for no good reason

northerners are idiots that got slaughtered at a wedding lmao how fucking dumb can you be

the show fell apart without him

joffrey didn't inspire loyalty and nobody liked him

Why would people think having a full time army in a feudal setting would be a good thing? It just means more taxes and more food being taken to prop up a lord that you have no allegiance to and receive no benefits from. It's not like he was also going to set up a national pension scheme to balance out the increase in taxes.

When all of your councilors collectively lose their shit (including Varys' little run to him) you should know you should probably think again about what you're about to do

???? Joffrey was autistic and had a tendency to focus on one idea at a time. He didn't have the brain capacity to be a king, no matter how many wise men were counseling him.

There's a scene in Trailer Park Boys where Bubbles explains that Ricky's brain can only handle one thought at a time. If you try to throw more than one at him, he's gonna trainwreck. Same principle with Joffrey

i hate hovering over a post no. and seeing multiple lines of text

Bilbo, despite being half the size of an adult human, relies on his wit to get him across a medeival setting and confront a dragon.
