What did my frens think of 'Big Trouble in Little China'? Where does it rank in Carpenter's kinography?

Dunno where it ranks but I loved it
Only saw it for the first time last year
The Thing is still a lot better.
I’m not sure where it ranks as far as carpenter is concerned but I fucking love this Movie. One of those things that shouldn’t exists and shouldn’t work, but somehow it does and is pure 80s fun
Comfy, goofy.
The Thing is my favorite from Carpenter.
great movie
fav scene
I WISH TO FUCK ACTRESS!!
it's top tonyer
The t-shirt gives +5 milf discovery so it was alright.
The movie poster t-shirt or Jack Burton's samurai shirt?
Movie poster, the samurai shirt was tight but I can't always walk around in a tank top.
one of the most irritating movies i've ever seen. the dialogue is the worst part, it's relentless and stupid. glad i saw it so i know the one bad kurt russell movie
maybe i'd have liked it if i saw it as a kid first, have some nostalgia for it, but i saw it at 28 and it's just obnoxious
I'd probably put it in fourth place, tied with They Live, behind The Thing, Halloween and Escape From New York.
The Thing > They Live > BTLC > PoD > Halloween > The Fog > Escape from NY > Escape from LA > Ghosts of Mars
I like the English-Canadian actress Kim Cattrall in it. Kurt Russell was okay too.
Who /147/ here?
I don't care if this is bait, I hope you fucking die.

I enjoyed it. Asian wizards and cheesy dialogue are a good mix.
>that scene where they switch guns
aris?
Nothing about this movie should have worked, the dialogue is ridiculous, the pacing is non existent, the plot is weird.
That being said, its honesty one of my top 5 favorite movies, its not Carpenters best, but it is my favorite. I'd say The Thing and They Live are better.
Also, side note. There is a kickass comic series by Boom! Studios thats worth looking into, I strongly recommend it, it gets a little weird (for BTILC) but its still fun.
tough to rank because carpenter is so fucking based
This movie should be in every hotel room, like the gideon's bible
Clicked on this thread for this
in many ways, BTILC, is the VERY FIRST quipfest capeshit movie
Absolute favourite, no movie is more enjoyable and rewatchable
>the dialogue is ridiculous, the pacing is non existent, the plot is weird.
It works because of that confusion, because we're sharing Jack's perspective. He's the fish out of water that for the entire duration of the movie, has absolutely no fucking idea what's going on or what he's actually dealing with, and that lack of understanding is what fearlessly propels him through it. It's like Carpenter took an action star from a different movie and just plopped him into this one, where the plot is supposed to be taken seriously, but Jack's outside perspective let's him dismantle how truly absurd it all is. He's honestly what makes this movie so great.
>order chinese takeout
>kicks back with some BTILC
>comfy as fuck
>Comparing The Thing and Big Trouble in Little China as if one can be better then the other
>t. absolute pleb
A New Hope had quips as well. Kurt Russell's character is quite similar to Han Solo. The movie is very likely designed to be a remake of A New Hope (Egg Foo Wong is like Obiwan Kenobi; they go into a sewer system similar to going into the trash compactor; the strong guy is Darth Vader; both movies were distributed by Fox). They gave both the Luke and Han equivalents love interests however.
