I like Afronsky sometimes but his films always feel like pseudo-art. Like a watered down Hollywood-injected indie film.

SHE IS THE HOUSE.
I GET IT!

If you can't tell me what the yellow powder represented, you didn't understand it either. I do, and I think this film is beautifully shot, has top-notch sound design, but continually trips over its own allegorical dick.

oh wow, user. you're so smart. I applaud you.

Great acting, nuanced risky camera work, amazing sound design, Kubrick level set design... the perfect filming of a nightmare sequence. It was art house kino and shouldn't have been marketed as a Jennifer Lawrence horror flick. That said, I didn't "like it." But it was extraordinary.

>Great acting
Half the film was just JLaw walking around looking at things with a horrified or disapproving expression.

You were expecting Katniss Everdeen and were disappointed. Points to her for being someone else. Those scenes reminded me of the Shining when Jack Nicholson had the camera uncomfortably close. It makes the audience uneasy.

I was almost disowned by my parents and almost lost my best friend after showing them this film and saying I kinda liked it.

>I think this film is beautifully shot
I wouldn't say that at all
>Great acting, nuanced risky camera work
Wrong on both counts

>can suck a fat dick and take it up the ass at 22
>kino

This was garbage and those people that would not listen to her and hear fucking her house up was hilarious. It was beautiful though; best watched while high.

Don't forget when Kristin Wiig shows up and starts executing people!

Mother! might not be a masterpiece or anything, but I'd rather rewatch it than most capeshit. It was a wild ride.
