Hire Zack Snyder and let him go nuts.

Basically rip off Silence of the Lambs, make Hannibal/Cletus's murders less intimate and more massacre-ey, instead of Jodie Foster Venom is playing detective. Everytime Carnage and Venom meet Carnage gets the upper hand, but a pain overcomes him and he narrowly escapes. Movie ends with Venom finally getting a hold of Cletus when he's in pain and seperating him from the symbiote. The symbiote gives birth to Toxin, and Venom kills Carnage. movie ends with Kassady behind bars and Carnage regrowing in his blood

If I get to recast, keep Tom Hardy as Venom but have Marton Wallstrom as Cletus

Cletus couldn't support a movie on his own. I guess an hour and half of him murdering people? He could be an antagonist for a film but not the main character.

woody is fine for cletus I think but dude you mentioned is a good pick too. they need star power though. Also just thinking Topher Grace would of been better as carnage than big ass venom. Carnage is tall and lanky like him.

The problem is, imo, that Carnage is 100% edge and that's all he has going for him, and considering this will also be PG-13 (if it ain't broke dont fix it), then the only thing to make this story edgy enough to work would be an edgy actor, but they got woody for it and he's like 60 by now so i honestly can't see it working

Honestly I feel like it's too late for a good Carnage movie because Brad Dourif is too old to play Carnage. I mean, I guess it could be an animated movie or something?

But yeah, it would have to be a horror movie, something where maybe a bunch of civvies find themselves caught up in Cletus's kill-happy bullshit and struggling to stay alive as he picks them off one by one. I'd use the horror conventions to deconstruct critique the cape genre, suggesting that in reality the cape world would be a nightmare for us normies who are borderline powerless against malicious supernatural entities.

jackie earle haley goes apeshit for 90 minutes and the entire score is just a mick gordon remake of green jelly's 'carnage rules' instrumental on repeat.
