Disney bought out all movie theaters March 7th

Wanted to see this flop so bad, but deep down I know normies and liberals will watch this in flocks since its the only movie available for a week in all my local theatre.

I used to work at a movie theater and Disney had polices like not allowing people to use free movie passes for the first two weeks of showing. I remember that for Star Wars, I cannot remember if Marvel was subject to the same rule. This was the case for employees as well. Our movies privileges were suspended automatically for certain Disney movies.

The computers would reject the movie passes if you tried to enter them so there was no way to actually use them. The basic threat was they won't let you show their movies if too many mistakes accrue.

Captain Marvel™ a great movie, I recommend seeing it. It's the fun superhero film that the special lady in your life deserves to see!

Most theatres don't confirm dates for regular showings until near the start of the week so they can adjust the number of showings based on how the films performed over the previous week. New releases and special showings are sometimes excluded because they weren't being played over the previous week and so will sometimes appear earlier than others. Obviously my local theatre isn't planning on only playing a Van Gogh exhibition on the 7th.

-We don't get the full movie schedule for that week until the Tuesday prior because of a process called "booking"
-Booking is handled entirely by corporate, individual theatres don't have control
-Ergo, come Tuesday evening, the online ticketing places will have the full movie schedule available.
-Captain Marvel is up because tickets went on sale in advance
-Not every movie gets pre-sales like that (Us and Breakthrough are two movies I know for certain should have pre-sales up) and movies that do vary on when they go up. It can be anywhere from a month on advance for larger titles or just a week

I live in a small coastal community quite literally 100 miles from anything, in a remote area. We have a 3 theater cinemaplex and Captain Marvel is the only thing showing starting from March 7th until the 10th, all three theaters.

Movie theatres aren't ending ALL SHOWTIMES FOR ALL OTHER MOVIES.

They just haven't published their other showtimes because they only make their schedules on a week-by-week basis. Major tentpole releases generally go up for ticket pre-sales a whole month in advance, and so are scheduled accordingly--you guessed it--a month in advance. For all Disney's faults as a money-grubbing corporate leviathan, this is standard practice and the same shit happened for Aquaman back last December.

On any given business week (Friday-Thursday in the movie theatre business) the full schedule is published only a few days ahead of time, usually on Tuesday evenings at least at Regal; maybe other chains are different. So for the week of March 8th thru the 14th, expect to not see the full schedule posted until the night of Tuesday the 5th, and expect by that time to see plenty of listings at your theatre for movies that aren't Captain Marvel.
