What's your opinion of Brooklyn Nine-Nine

It's considered to be one of the most successful sitcoms of they year.
So what do you guys think of it??

I've only seen a couple episodes, thought they were funny but I can imagine the humor getting old pretty fast, would I be right?

Tries too hard to be progressive after the second season.
Constantly mocks white men with the only white characters being a beta-cuck and two old farts

Adam Sandberg or whatever is unfunny as fuck but it's an alright show. It's a tier above The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon but a tier below The Office and Parks and Rec

Yeah it got pretty stale after 2nd season.
Yet so many people say it gets better after every season. I just don't see it

He literally has the same schtick every goddamn episode

it used to be good but now that it's on the new station this entire season has been 100% hammer down progressive ideals and talk about how oppressed women are and how evil white men are, so disappointing.

The Big Bang Theory is practically shit-tier tho

The newest episode was just cringe.
Apparently you can only be against sexual assault if you claim to be a feminist

what's your point

Hell that's pretty much his entire career

It's alright, I enjoy it.

yeah and then legit apparently all men are actually pigs unless they subscribe 100% to feminist ideology like it was so hamfisted and cringe

9/10 show overall. It has its flaws and the last episode was terrible in terms of writing acting and directing. Felt like these Emmy consideration skits some shows do when they stop dead in their tracks and speak directly to the audience. Imagine making the episode actually good and/or comedic, Bill Hader dropping the rape kit "shmorgendorp!".
Will continue watching for Amy Santiago though.

I think the message "workplace harassment is bad, mkay?" is fine but it was really badly executed. No interesting twist in the story, hamfisted acting and just not really a well flowing episode. Rosa's coming out episode and even Terry's walking while under the influence of being black episode were better.
And that's not even including the fact they have a character on the show that regularly got harassed on screen which is played by perhaps the most well known representative of (black) male victims of workplace harassment. And they didn't use him for that for even a second. Weird choice for a show that's so proud of their extreme inclusiveness.

If I put on my 4channel goggles it has literally always been that way. Can you name a white straight male from the show that is portrayed as a positively strong or just non-idiotic character? Also kinda weirded out how nobody thought a broken dick wasn't funny, basically going hey stumpy what happened to you?

It's literally SJW the show
>All white men are shown to be dumb, evil or have some laughable trait
>All people in power are women, visible minorities or not straight. Sometimes multiple of those options.
>The people in power who are white men are shown to be idiots or wrong
>they ham fist in "jokes" about how white straight men need to check their privileges
>99% of criminals are a white male. The ones that aren't are played as likable or sympathetic
>Most of the background characters that get speaking lines are minorities. I don't think this is a bad thing but it's noticeable that the casting director has a bias.

All that being said the first 3 seasons have really good jokes and the robot captain is acted so well it just works. After that it starts to fall apart as the characters become more nuanced into what they should be. I watch the show every night to fall asleep on netflix.

First season was really good cause they actually acted like NYPD who Are soemwhat cops who were desensitized and treat each other like work pals.
Now they act like they belong in a Liberal Arts college

>I think the message "workplace harassment is bad, mkay?" is fine but it was really badly executed

I haven't seen the new season but Gina literally harasses Terry for the entire show for laughs.

luckily Gina (the worst main character even before the two fat guys) left the show early in season 6 which is a decent relief. Was a stupid idea to not include the Gina - Terry (-Crews) harassment aspect indeed.

The Vulture is one of the best characters in any sitcom ever.

trash unfunny show aimed at women and redditer faggots

Truly underrated character

It's been pretty unfunny for a while but okay to watch as something innocuous in the background. The latest episode, however, was so preachy that I couldn't even just listen to it mindlessly anymore.

He's just Liz Lemon's boyfriend in a worse show.

Pretty much. The key to watching these shows is to avoid following it every episode. You use them as backups when you're filling dead air basically. The thing is though that the quality of the writing and acting isn't going up or down, its just there at a decent level of okay.

this
the latest episode was 0/10 even if you agreed with the premise

>i got a wolf i killed in utah

It's a time waster, not a comedy show. There's no point to it. It doesn't try to reveal anything true through comedy. It doesn't subvert expectations. It's just setup and punchline; and that's a good thing. Some people aren't looking for anything more than that.

Which is pretty fucked up considering Crews is an outspoken critic of the climate of male targeted sexual harassment in the entertainment industry.

the show may be worse but the character is better

One of these shows that rapid-fires a bunch of mediocre/bad jokes so you don't have enough time to realize that they're not actually funny.

>and that's a good thing
aw come on man

Moving to NBC was the worst thing for the show. It became more preachy, less about the family & fun the series had been. More character episodes, less involving the whole squad. The A/B with occasional C storylines are almost just A-only now. And Jake & Amy are way too focused on now instead of the whole cast.

It's a fun show with a great cast. They stumble whenever they lean too heavily on character traits instead of throwing them into real police work, as well as when they make the characters fail at their job or act unprofessionally just for the sake of the episode's conflict. It comes across as really lazy when you can see exactly where the plot is going from the first three minutes.

I mean, yeah, obviously rape is bad and women should feel safe in the workplace, but beating me over the head with it in an otherwise toothless, safe and unremarkable 30 minute sitcom is just a recipe for tuning out. If you're going to do a very special episode, at least make sure it's on a show with the credibility to make it worth acknowledging as anything more than an attempt to corral attention.

Nah, Dennis Duffy > The Vulture

Where has Boyle been this season btw?

I wouldn't say early considering it was just an episode or two ago. Then Gina's actress started to mouth off that she was pushed out the door.

Doesn't seem very good. I caught a few minutes of it and nothing seemed very funny.

It was good when they actually did cop things and made cop show based jokes

Now it’s basically a bad office, they don’t do cop stuff and the humour is basically what zany and weird thing will happen this time?!

i fucking hate terry crews

gotcha bitch!

He's there, but barely. Terry is barely around. Rosa just recently got an episode, but most she was background. Weirdly Hitchcock and Scully got an episode, but then Jake & Boyle became the focus to solve the case.

>It's an Andy Samberg is a manchild and speaks really quickly as he rapid-fire comments on what's happening in a "humorous" fashion episode

Remember Bill Hader roasting Andy Samberg about how this show would turn out? He was totally right, it only took longer than he thought.

Is there anything worse than a mediocre show attempting to convey a level of sociopolitical relevance that's vastly above its station and significance as an artistic work?

Samburg is a one trick pony hack
