Busting "The First Two Seasons of Star Trek are Always Unpopular" Myth Edition
/trek/
all fucking attention whore tripfags must fucking hang
Is JJ Trek dead?
Hope you're having a nice night friend. /trek/ accepts you for who you are, even if that's a bitter cunt.
>unpopular
no, they're just weird.
For all intents and purposes
SHOW ME THE NEW TALOSIANS ALREADY
This shit is /reylo/ tier at this point. You all deserve cancer.
THIS THREAD IS ABOUT STAR TREK NOT YOU YOU SAD ATTENTION STARVED CHILD, THIS IS NOT REDDIT, FUCK OFF
Praise Allah.
TRUE
Fuck reddit generals
how the hell did that ever get made, it's one of the most fucked up things I've ever seen, let alone in a Star Trek show
no, it's just moved to STD and the other nuTrek shows on CBS. It wont die until the Viacom re-merger, when Paramount will actually get to make canon Trek again.
STO went out of their way to tie this one scene alien into the myth arc and give it a backstory. Even if it did suck, I admire that autistic attention to detail.
This thread is a reddit circlejerk
Bad doesn't mean unpopular, dumbass
>Voy below DS9
>no TOS
That Nielsen guy sounds like a faggot
Kill yourself reddit nigger
Next Thursday, friendo.
gtfo underage faggot
TNG was broadcast under first run syndication and was extremely profitable and popular from the very beginning (contrary to the "muh first 2 seasons" myth). They had a tremendous amount of freedom because of the networks mistake in initially passing on the show. They could have done whatever they wanted up to the FCC guidelines limit.
.
but that's not the meme being addressed, dumb ass. Faggots go around literally shillling about TNG being not just "bad" but unpopular in its first two seasons to try to deflect from STD being unpopular.
What was the greatest /trek/ thread ever?
Kill yourself faggot scum
>to deflect from STD being unpopular.
amongst youtubers who embody the whiny manbaby stereotypes, sure.
>weird
Bad. They're just bad.
The one from last night where you got raped
holy shit the posts in this thread are something else. I didn't know just how widespread the tripfag invasion actually was
>amongst youtubers who embody the whiny manbaby stereotypes
>manbaby stereotypes
aka 90% of the Star Trek audience that would have eagerly thrown their money and eyeballs at a new canon Trek series. keep failing, shill.
no, they were functional.
Kill yourself newfag cock sucker

you literally don't matter anymore whiteboi. and that's a good thing!

At least maintain some dignity man. Taking a giant plastic johnson up your pooper is one of the most humiliating images man can conjure.
What a repulsive beard. Shameful. Embarrassing.
Who was supposed to be the Jews in Star Trek? Ferengi or Bajorans?
any tripfag worth their hash has transcended humiliation

How could they fuck it up this badly?
This is worse than the klingons.

These threads aren't even about Star Trek anymore.
They haven't been for a long time
I'm the real Nordic Wonder and I hate Star Trek!
Reddit nigger faggot shit.
He got promoted to Chief Engineer on DS9 from being a lowly transporter tech. Made a best friend that he hung out with every day too.
But was still married to that hateful shrew
Hey friend. Glad you could make it, have a seat.
The Ferengi had the money grubbing tendencies.
The Bajorans had eternal victim status.
I would have to say both, user.
Did you remember to save me a glass of mother's piss?
This post reminded me there was literally a nig character named "Finna"
>mfw nordic wonder
Why are so many people here so angry and lash out?
who's angry? we are just discussing trek :)
Shut up idiot
"Doctor, did I ever tell you about the time I escaped from the psychiatric unit on Starbase 5? I had myself committed there initially due to my acute emotional disassociation and extreme empathy deficits. Memory fails me, but during the breakout I may have killed three people. Section 31 then made finding my whereabouts a priority. Did I ever tell you about Section 31? It appears that our Federation is in actuality another generic space empire, killing, pillaging, and routinely flouting our supposed founding principles via this organization. Although it's existence is widely known, doctor, it is imperative that we not speak of it. After my escape my mother hid me in the basement at my father's house on Vulcan. My father Sarek had been trying to find me using the ancient art of tokmar, but my mother had negated these attempts with katra stones, which as you know block telepathy. Fortunately my adopted sister Michael Burnham arrived (did I ever tell you about her?) and immediately found me unresponsive and muttering incoherently in the basement. I am learning disabled, you see, so this is a frequent occurrence. Burnham turned me over to Section 31 because I had knowledge of a being called the Red Angel and it's seven signals, which they had taken something of an interest in. They were going to extract my brain until my sister thwarted the attempt and rescued me. A undesirable situation it is, doctor, to lose one's brain. We then proceeded to Talos IV, a planet which carries the penalty of death for anyone traveling there. Despite the jeopardy my sister had once again put herself in, she was willing to do anything to repair our relationship. She was an amicable relative."
Maybe it's best you just stop using a name. You get bullied so much it's painful to watch.
We're multiplying
He can't, he's all in.
I like you, Nordic Wonder.
names are pretty rad
People here like to have fun and just hang out.
i made that image macro last year. i should have used "im finna" instead of "ima". Really de-crystalizes my dilithium because one of my memetic research interests is in exploring the nexus between Star Trek and racism for keks
Damn the Orville just keeps getting better
I read this in spocks voice. why couldnt they get somebody who looked like spock to be spock in the new series?
You deserve cancer

The dumbest part about VOY is that the showrunners felt they had to set it in a new quadrant, as though the Alpha Quadrant's been spent and there's nothing more to see there. In reality, One quadrant alone would contain far more worlds and species than one single show could ever hope to portray.
What's Blando ever done?
What are some non-canonical romances you ship?
Exactly. That's why we hate him.
Valley Forge is the worst thing that ever happened to /trek/.
I really love that episode and simultaneously hate that it never got a follow-up.
>ship
I hope a nigger cuts your fucking faggot throat
Absolutely nothing noteworthy, yet he feels entitled to use a name
they didnt want to compete with TNG even though they ended up doing that anyways
The guy who played Data and the crazy lady who stalks him.
do you like boats better?
Boats are rad

I've been on 4chins since 2004, when the somethingawful diaspora happened.
I only post a name when I am posting OC, or replying to a /trek/fren.
I don't need or want attention.
I just want my /trek/frens to know me. If you ever want me to make webms 4U, just give an episode and time sigs.
My favorite trek frens:
>1: Bashirfaggot. Our eternal queen and the most beautiful woman the sun has ever shown its light upon.
>2: Valley Forge. A narcissistic shitposter but super chill and devoted to making /trek/ fun.
>3: Blando. Who doesn't love Blando?
>4: Nordic Wonder. Easygoing and here to have a good time. Never makes any trouble and always provides witty banter.
>5: MKULTRA. Playfully arrogant but plays by the rules. Regularly contributes OC.
Favorite Voyager episode?
Deathwish is the best Star Trek episode there is
We've all been the scarecrow.
if you ever get bored and want to make webms of Ro or Selar that might be sick
Selar's only appearance was in Schizoid Man season 2, Ro had a handful of episodes towards the end of TNG
if you could make them like less than 200kb that would be pretty rad and I will henceforth consider you a friend and ally of all that is good and beautiful in the world
Probably the one with the Doctor's daydreams
I might not be the most clever or funniest guy here but I'm consistent and loyal.
BROKE: Bitching about Voyager's torpedos
WOKE: Bitching about Voyager's shuttles
This list includes replaced shuttles, making the total exceed 100%.

Thank you.
This is a new low, /trek/. I'm done trying to fix your problems.

>HURRAAAAAAH TITTIES!
So trek is under the protection of a tranny janny, that explains the existence of this tripfag circle jerk general.
Damn... time flies when you're having fun...
Dear Blando,
Why don't you post here more often? You have a very smooth and comforting presence. This might sound weird but if you ever want to hang out or get a drink, hit me up. There's so little we know about you. What's your favorite series? Who's your favorite captain? Do you think Dukat did anything wrong?
Yours always,
user
I'll keep posting. I don't give up jizzt because /trek/ is going thru av rough patch.
Do you know why there are no trannys in Star Trek? They had already cured mental illness.

>What are some non-canonical romances you ship?
I hate fags and all the "shipping" nonsense, but i'll admit i have on multiple occasions caught myself brainstorming scenarios for how Picard could have been plausibly dating pic related, since he's shown with her both in an out of uniform on multiple occasions in TNG, she's a minor meme, and the webum of her walking into 10-Forward is a triumph of AESTHETIC trekino. Being an canon autist, i couldn't help but try to reconcile her existence and that sort of implies "shipping" I guess.
I'm not sharing.
she looks like a dyke
Every general is cancer
Don't tease.
that's partly what intrigues me. Picard is repeatedly shown to eschew conventionally-attractive females, but the writers nonetheless felt the need to pair him with her on at least one occasion. Fuck, i hate that I think about this. I recoil and dismiss Troi-Worf but with Jae i keep turning it over in my mind. I wonder if I may have a thing for twink-looking lesbos with mustaches.
If we all help out, we can make /trek/ cool and fun again! What do you say guys?
What other hobbies do you have apart from trek?
No one said they're unpopular. They're often pretty shit though, (with the exception of DS9)
I like to think Jae and Gates were the most active of the bridge relief crew. Jae had no issues socializing with Picard and Worf was no doubt a mentor to her. Gates was the helmsman for something like two years too.
I'm kind of butthurt they aren't away team characters in the 16-bit videogames.
I hope you and your disgusting cunt of a mother both get cancer
I don't think they look that bad

nobody's supposed to know who the Terran Emperor is, unless they're close enough to get beheaded via fidget spinner. "Empress" doesn't tell you who the Emperor is, but tells you it's a woman.

>No one said they're unpopular.
co-opting the "growing the beard" meme to handwave STD's unpopularity has literally been a pillar of CBS shilling since a few weeks into STD's run. They took "the first two seasons always suck" (which was never true for TOS and TNG anyway, but people believe it because myopic pov is myopic) and spun it into "the first two seasons are always unpopular". Citing the actual ratings pushes back against that shill tactic.
>tfw no Shran/Archer yaori

meow, user. orville wa treku dewa nai.
Season 2 of both ds9 and voyager were both bad to mediocre
On the other hand season 2 of tos is easily the best of those and season 2 of ENT is just meh
Semi-related season 2 of the orville is excellent to date

>The First Two Seasons of Star Trek are Always Unpopular
I've never seen this claimed by anyone in the ~4 years I've been following Trek threads. The standard claim is that the first two seasons of each show are rough and have loads of bad episodes.
You can still argue this is a myth though, I know many people here say TNG 1&2 are pleb filters.
nigga, are you seriously about to defend season 2 of ds9 or voy right now?
>forgot to mention TNG season 2 is easily within the top 3 seasons of TNG btw
Tfw Barclays actor is a real life Trumptard
>Troy
Proof?
I will personally argue for seasons 1&2 being good or "pleb filter" for TNG and maybe even ENT, but seasons 1&2 of ds9 and voy are genuinely pretty bad and full of lackluster episodes and severely underdeveloped characters.
And of course seasons 1 and 2 of TOS are pure unfiltered kino
What a lame fantasy.

No it doesn't. I've never seen anyone, shill or no, try to claim that the first seasons of each Trek series were unpopular. It's always been about their quality. And TNG seasons 1 and 2 do suck.
the last known instance in /trek/ alone is less than a day old and was linked 4 posts up

He’s got his own conservative podcast as well.
Seven of Nine and Naomi Wildman.
What?
Kes.
Why was TNG so kino? What went wrong after that?
She is on the show "Orange is the New Black" I assume that was a reference.
There's nothing about the ratings in that post.
Saviour in voy and real life
The Founders.
Shapeshifters who consider themselves a chosen people. They were persecuted and genocidally purged in the past and decide that the best way to keep themselves safe is to control everyone else.
I'm pretty sure there's a post-Nemesis Star Trek novel where Janeway gets sent to prison.
If by Janeway you mean a completely different person then yes
didn't she die in that "Destiny" clusterfuck?
How pissed do you think she gets seeing janeway paid to play the real life version of her now?
Nope, she gets assimilated by the Borg and later blown up
huh, I must be misremembering something or other.
>Creationism is wro-
one day you're going to wince at the cringe of how enthusiastically you advertised your inability to into the challenge of kino produced in another time. It requires you to look past an unfamiliar aesthetic to appreciate whats great about it. It's not like talented actors, writers, musicians, etc. just stopped contributing for an entire era just because the era had a particular look that didn't age well. There's a lot of great Star Trek in early TNG ( story, music, acting, and visuals - like pic related) but being a dismissive brainlet meme-victim will cause you to overlook it.
omg you're dumb as fuck. the post is making the claim "first two seasons of TNG weren't popular" and ratings literally address viewership (popularity).
Sure there's some good episodes. Overall it's shit though, and it has nothing to do with "a particular look that didn't age well."
It's not talking about popularity, insofar as it applies to the show's ratings. The post is literally all about the quality of those first two seasons of TNG, which most people regard to be sub-standard.
Im with you on TNG season 2, but season 1 is split down the middle between good/passable and just straight up garbage episodes. it pales in comparison to the following seasons.
and Its really ds9 that cemented the "first season is bad maymay" as s1 of ds9 is straight up 75% trash
>the very worst boner episodes of tng were more highly received than the most amazing ent episodes
>ds9 and voy were almost just as bad
the only outliers were the premiers which would rank highly only to leave people disappointed
the quote is
>TNG came out and everyone got butthurt by the shit first two seasons
it's -past tense- you fucking mong. unless your contention is that this shit Trek show was nonetheless incredibly popular with Trek fans and normies, despite everyone being "butthurt" about it, you're making no goddamn sense. So, either millions of ppl made no fucking sense in 87-89 and watched a show they hated for no reason, or you're just a fucking retard.
>The post is literally all about the quality of those first two seasons of TNG, which most people regard to be sub-standard.
You cannot read that post without agreeing with the >implication that people hated it at the time. Otherwise, you're saying people were "butthurt" with it, but they liked it. Nobody thought S1-S2 were "sub-standard" at the time, because it was fucking 1987 and the sci-fi tv standard was literally something by Glen A. Larson about a guy with a talking car/semi/robot who goes from town to town fighting crime.
TOS best - Spock
TOS worst - Uhura
TNG best - Data、Worf、Batai
TNG worst - Troi、Ro
DS9 best - Vic Fontaine、Rom
DS9 worst - Jadzia Dax、Kira
VOY best - EMH、Janeway
VOY worst - Torres、Kes
ENT best - Heyes、Porthos、Shran
ENT worst - Temporal Agent guy
DSC best - who cares
DSC worst - who cares
Nobody was butthurt at TNG. It was produced with the same care a movie was in those days. It's peak American television, a high water mark which it's not likely we will top.
>neelix isn't the worst of voyaer

Also include Best - chef in Enterprise

7s actually the worst.
Best is chakotay.
Just cause of the movies user
You're conflating ratings with quality. Just because something is watched by a large group of people does not make it good. What else was there back in 1987 to watch in terms of sci-fi television? Alf?
Besides, contemporary audience reactions to TNG really aren't relevant to the comparisons people make with regard to STD today. Most people seem to agree today that the first two seasons of TNG are pretty bad; or at least no where near as good as the following seasons. This has become something of a trend; retrospectively, the first seasons of most Trek shows (excluding TOS) have been quite poor, especially compared to later seasons. This is why people bring them up when talking about STD. IT's not to excuse the rumoured low ratings of STD, but the poor quality; people are basically just saying we shouls give the show a chance to come into its own.
>the movies
that just makes you even more wrong as Kirk/Shatner was consistently amazing in the movies while Nimoy popped in some dentures and phoned in like half of his movie performances
Shatnerkirk will always be the best boy of TOS and trek in general imo
I'm sensing... I'm sensing... a manchild afraid of women...
>Just because something is watched by a large group of people does not make it good.
"Good" isn't the point, although I've always argued that early TNG quality deserves to be judged on its own merits in context, not by some "universal" "objective" standard of "good". The point is that faggots are starting to try and co-opt the Growing the Beard meme to shill for STD on the basis of TNG not being popular or it being hated for its first two seasons, and that deserves to be shut down.
Not on my watch, pal. The line must be drawn here. This far. No further. In fact, the entire 'muh first two seasons' canard deserves to be sent reeeing back to the aidsy hellscape of reddit where it undoubtedly spawned from, so i'm actually gonna move the line back some.
DS9 best - Gul Dukat, Quark
DS9 worst - Winn Adami
ftfy
i would agree, but I'm also a heterosexual male so 7 gets a tits & ass pass from me. my least favorite characters were season 3+ kes and maybe the mary sue borg kids they take on in the pathogen episode.
You just know
Star Trek is an American space opera media franchise based on the science fiction television series created by Gene Roddenberry.
you just know
Well good luck with your quest. I wasn't around when TNG aired, so I don't know what the reactions to it where at the time. I do know that most of the people I've talked to today think that the first two TNG seasons were, with the exceptions of a few good episodes, trash overall.
Fast threads are more vibrant.
he's gay they just had a tea party
I SAID YOU ARE DISMISSED, ensign.
gross
the first two TNG seasons weren't "bad", they were just a lot more about metaphysical shit and character development than the fun monster of the day adventures of the later seasons.
IT
They took two whole seasons and put character development ahead of an overarching plot thread. I am an oldfag and watched every episode on broadcast but a few and everybody loved it.

Why did everyone think Data was so amazing when clearly sophisticated artificial intelligence had been around for like 200 years already?
Apparently she's a cyborg. You can tell it's a hasty excuse, but at least someone decided to give a damn about continuity, even as an afterthought.
What's lurking in the shadows?
Fifty extra pounds.
Epic post. Also read it in Spock's voice.
>*sip*
yes, those were the times
Maybe Data was the first android to be "fully functional"?
Who is /trek/s best sipper?
I think she's a human who's been enhanced or something. Not a completely artificial android.
She drinks straight from the pot when no one is in the room.
Kino episode.
If she's a human, how is that Matrix Sentinel probe able to hijack her brain?
If her brain is all machine, where's Bashir or a dr like Bashir who'd euthanize her before removing the entire brain.
The correct answer is the writers dont give a fuck and have given zero fucks about fleshing out the bridge crew on STD outside of Disobediant Commander niggress, Pike and Saru.
thanks for the extra górę trauma i cant under for the rest of my life

>decide to look up the guy they have playing Pike in STD
>he was the lead role in Hell on Wheels with fucking Colm Meany
Am i allowed to like STD Pike, even though he gives way too much leeway to Burnham (and is in a shit show)?
What the fuck have they even done with those characters, all they use them for are reaction takes.

It took him ages to become an actual character though.
But at least he became one, the editors on STD expect us to give a fuck about these noname faggots reactions to bridge drama like we give a shit.

She’s hot.
The Black Woman is OPs.

Airiram appears to be a science officer as well since she is also in the labs with Tilly and Michael.
It's okay, user. You're among friends here. We all wish Mount's Pike were part of a better show.
this image slightly freightens me.
Nielsen is only about television, STD has most of its audience on Netflix, then CBS Shit-access, and TV is last, trailing behind the first two.
>What the fuck have they even done with those characters
I really have no idea. I wonder who is behind all this.
Why is hair so thick!? This guy is to hair what Jay Leno is to chins.
This just screams nerd crew.
Damn, airiram looks like that!
Never forget, there are no real fans of STD. It's actually impossible because the show is so irredeemably garbage. If you see someone claiming to 'enjoy' or 'like' STD they are either trolling or an actual paid CBS shill (who have been confirmed to be targeting boards like this and others in a 'grass roots' campaign).
The Orville's fanbase is entirely natural and discussion is welcomed - STD shills please leave.
fag
>Why is hair so thick!? This guy is to hair what Jay Leno is to chins.
Sounds like something a balding person would say.
Why would it be "DSC" and not "DIS"?
DIS sounds dumb
Yeah, not like VOY or TOS
I don't think either of those sound dumb.
And I don't think DIS sounds dumb, on top of it being objectively the correct abbreviation.
How come?
Title has three words: initial of each word
>TOS = The Original Series
>TNG = The Next Generation
>Deep Space 9 = DS9
Title has one word: first three letters
>VOYager
>ENTerprise
Therefore, DIScovery.

I'm the person you quoted. I call it STD because it's funnier that way, and because I despise it. If CBS says it's DSC it just shows even further that they don't know what they're talking about. The rule is simple and clear for anybody to see, and changing it because DIS "sounds silly" is just about the most childish thing I've ever heard.
>everyone else: STD
honestly i've only ever seen this used with any regularity here on Yea Forums by people taking the piss on the show. on reddit (inb4 reeeeeee) they had a discussion early on about the naming schemes of previous series entries and how DIS is the obvious choice for this one instead of the "std" that people at the time were jokingly referring to it as. I don't know if they switched to DSC when it was officially branded, but it still isn't std, and I haven't heard anyone else call it that in the past year and half who wasn't purposely ranting against it.

In addition to Picard, the series will feature seven characters: Connie, Lawrence, Starton, Dr Smith, K'bar, Indira and Alana.
>Connie is described as an African-American woman in her early 30s. She lost her husband and has a death warrant on her head from her home planet. She is also a mercenary pilot.
>Lawrence is also in his 30s and is described as someone with a "dodgy moral compass." The character, who is a thief, will pilot the ship Picard takes on his mission. The breakdown hints that he might not be trustworthy.
>Starton is "terrified of space" and specializes in "positronic brains." He is interested in the research part of Picard's mission. He is, like his three compatriots, in his early 30s.
>Dr. Smith is a hologram who helps the crew and is programmed to constantly learn but never to become "too self-aware." He may be an upgrade to the series' Emergency Medical Holograms.
>K'Bar, a 17-year-old Romulan martial artist who is extremely devoted to Picard
>Indira, a smart but socially inept woman in her early 20s,
>Alana, a former intelligence officer with an abusive personality in her mid-40s to 5os.
>Alana, Indira and Dr. Smith are described as being of "any ethnicity," while that isn't specified for K'Bar.
I vomited.
He’s confirmed The Red Angel.
>>K'Bar, a 17-year-old Romulan martial artist who is extremely devoted to Picard
the only character I actually want to be a female almost definitely will not be.
leddit are a bunch of joyless fucks who walk on eggshells to not be provocative or controversial. The fact is that the abbreviation STD makes the most sense when accounting for the alternate license, lensflareverse setting of the show, because all the reboot flicks are referred to in the same way:
ST09
STID
STB
STD
It just feels right this way.

In addition to Picard, the series will feature seven characters: Connie, Lawrence, Starton, Dr. Smith, K'Bar, Indira and Alana. Lawrence and Starton are said to be of "any ethnicity."
The other four characters are described as follows. Dr. Smith is a hologram who helps the crew and is programmed to constantly learn but never to become "too self-aware." He may be an upgrade to the series' Emergency Medical Holograms. Another character is K'Bar, a 17-year-old Romulan martial artist who is extremely devoted to Picard. The final two characters are Indira, a smart but socially inept woman in her early 20s, and Alana, a former intelligence officer with an abusive personality in her mid-40s to 5os. Alana, Indira and Dr. Smith are described as being of "any ethnicity," while that isn't specified for K'Bar.
>STD makes sense because I don't like the show
Nobody likes the show, user, but the abbreviation still isn't STD.
>Dr. Smith is a hologram who helps the crew and is programmed to constantly learn but never to become "too self-aware." He may be an upgrade to the series' Emergency Medical Holograms.
goddammit
>when accounting for the alternate license, lensflareverse setting of the show
You never give up, Fedora's Edge
>Connie, Lawrence, Starton, Dr Smith, K'bar, Indira and Alana
Cast them.
>Connie is Burnham 2.0.
>Lawrence is Mudd crossed with Tom Paris.
>Starton is already a fucking pussy. Prepare to see him cry and Picard comfort him.
>Smith is the EMH. (Based)
>K'Bar is a fucking child, god damn it.
>Indira is Tilly.
>Alana sounds fun desu.
Two things that make me think this is likely.
1. It lacks creativity.
2. Each Star Trek series has featured a new alien species as a main character (IE a member of a species that has never been a main character before).
>TOS; Vulcan
>TAS; Caitian and Edosian
>TNG; Klingon and Betazoid
>DS9; Ferengi, Changeling, Trill and Bajoran
>VOY; Talaxian and Ocampa
>ENT; Denubulan
>DSC; Kelpien
Sounds like shit but it cant be worse than DSC.
Proof that I can write a better cast of characters than this garbage. Hire me, CBS.
Osises Iro - Captain of the USS Odyssey-A, Iro is one of the few Betazoid captains in Starfleet and one of the even fewer in Starfleet to reach the rank of captain with a medical background. A strong upholder of Federation values, he is highly compassionate and is run more by feeling than logic, which could be his downfall. He refuses to sit back and let his crew risk themselves alone, being the first captain in years to lead nearly every away team along with his first officer and a sense of swashbuckler style.
Saras - Having defected from the now defunct Romulan Star Empire as a young adult, Saras quickly rose in the ranks of Starfleet and had recently been promoted to first officer under Iro. He carries with him a sense of Romulan superiority, though with a quiet respect for his comrades. While not stepping completely out of bounds of Starfleet protocol, he takes advantage of Romulan tactics and intrigue when problems arise. His somewhat cold and Romulan ideas, though with a warm exterior, help balance out the compassion and emotions of the captain.
Vai - Chief engineer, Vai is an unconventional Vulcan of a new generation that is stepping away from the rigid standards held by their predecessors. Learning from the Romulan Saras who she is respectfully wary of, she is willingly molding a new identity for herself that blends together Vulcan logic and conservatism with her own wants and desires. However, at times this deviation from the Vulcan way of life proves to be somewhat dangerous.
M'Tell - Operating the transporter and serving as an engineer under Vai, M’Tell is a wide-eyed Caitian on her first Starfleet vessel. Her sultry nature tends to be unnerving for those around her.
(2/2)
Shall Trach - Born on Qo’noS, Shall is an exchange-officer with the Klingon Empire and serves as the Chief Medical Officer aboard the starship. She has had little contact or interaction with Federation species and doesn’t care to learn. While not entirely compassionate, she is passionate as a doctor and comes across as hostile and bitter, terrifying some of the cadets that come to see her in her sickbay. She has some background in general science, allowing her to work closely at times with the chief science officer.
Yusri el-Yousif - Formerly a chemistry professor at Starfleet Academy, Yousif is the Chief Science Officer of the Odyssey. He is a skilled survivalist, having been raised in a rural settlement in the Arabian Peninsula and having spent much of his youth exploring the wilderness of Earth, Andoria and Betazed. He is mostly unsociable, preferring his own company and that of the wilds. In his spare time, he performs experiments that just barely nudge the Federation’s ban on eugenics.
Darelle Crawford - Formerly a mercenary that served in multiple minor military conflicts within Romulan space after the fall of its imperial authority, Darelle is an American-born tactical officer brought into Starfleet due to her experience within the region being more recent and far-reached than even Iro. She is sarcastic though highly sociable with most and an advocate of unsynthesized ethanol. Darelle is also well versed in hand-to-hand combat, having studied the arts practiced in the 23rd century.
Oliver Jones - Raised in Australia, Jones is the ship’s navigator. He is viewed as crude by most of the ship and somewhat unprofessional, though he is recognized for his piloting skills. He considers himself something of a womanizer, especially of strange new species that they encounter during certain first contact missions. However, he generally comes off as too heavy-handed.
Boom. Diverse, unique, inspired and Star Trek in nature.
Reminder he doesn't play Picard. Everyone saying Picard in anything but lazy copy paste shit posts is a shill.
