Tell me, what are you favorite characters from Jackson's LotR?
I like Faramir. And Treebeard, after him.

I honestly think Denethor is shit on unfairly and underrated. Grima Wormtongue is great too mainly because of Brad Dourif’s performance. Gandalf is the best character overall though. Not sure why I always like the old wizard characters most.
My three favourites (in no particular order)
>Theoden
>Gimli
>Gandalf
Perhaps it's because they combine all the best stereotypes of what we want out grandfather's to be: Wise, comforting, has a good sense of humour, still fully functional but at the same time you know that if things go wrong they can still pull off some amazing feats. As for OP's question I'm thinking of whose lines I say or think of before they happen and while I also like Gandalf I don't really say any of his lines before they happen (Even though there are some really good ones). I like saying 'my line has ended though' so I guess I kind of like Denethor even if he is a bad father to Faramir.
Boromir, Aragorn and Theoden. In no particular order.
I genuinely liked Arwen a lot even though she was a meme added for the romantic subplot. Out of all the elves she seemed the most otherworldly, even more than the forest queen elf
Theoden is a very compelling character as well, he seems much more like an actual man than Aragorn, which makes his bravery and leadership more impressive somehow. At helm's deep he seems beyond hope but somehow finds a way to ride out into certain death anyway. And he does it again at Pelennor fields for a people that didnt come to help him, while managing to impart that bravery and selflessness to all his men with his speech. Aragorn in contrast is like the elves, he just has no fear and is superhumanly good at fighting
>Aragorn in contrast is like the elves, he just has no fear and is superhumanly good at fighting
That is because HE IS. Not an elf but the rest, yes. And he knows this, hence the immense humility he carries. He’s a star that can not be reached, just used as a guide.
Arwen is top cutie. Very underrated. Anytime anyone wants to bring up good female characters she never comes up.. or Trinity for that matter. Smart, capable both in physical and mental struggles, even carrying the male lead at times.
i also like what jackson did with faramir
having him be a good person who was tempted by the ring and overcame it is far more interesting and works better than that just plain good person who is never tempted by the thing specifically designed to tempt men and is just a bland good guy

das it
Galadriel.
Elf slut for dwarven cock.
gandalf, aragorn, theoden
just thinking of the soundtrack in these two scenes gives me the chills
Faramir, ring would of never made it to Mordor w/o him.
Yeah she is a good 'strong' type character. She's also inhumanly perfect in character but they play that up by making her appear ethereal all the time so it works
>Treebeard
you serious?
anyway mine are
1 Gandalf
2 Sam
3 Legolas
and i got a soft spot for the Gondor brothers
Theoden seems to pop up a lot
he's got a really good character arc
I like merry
he is a logical thinker
And the most attractive of the hobbits
Yeah, probably same. I know basing it off of backstory not in the movie may be cheating but she's always fascinating, and Blanchett was pitch perfect casting.
Galadriel's Feet
when i was a kid i liked faramir, now im shifting more towards boromir
those two are still at the top though
based and redpilled
Faramir is the biggest bro in LotR after Sam.
bump for lotr thread
my favourite character is that one orc who says " YEEAH, WHY CAN'T WE HAVE SOME MEATS "
They are NOT for eating!
He gets lots of the best lines
>Dark have been my dreams of late
>Simbelmyne. Ever has it grown on the tombs of my forebears. Now it shall cover the grave of my son.
>Where now are the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing?
>Who am I, Gamling?
>So much death. What can men do against such reckless hate?
>The Pelennor speech
Eoywn and Merry deserved to get together. They had a lot of chemistry.
she treated him like a kid user, no.
I like the one who says:
"yeeeeeeah why can't we av some meat?"
"wot about them.... they're freSSTHHHHH"
"the obbits are nots for eatin.."
"wot about their sneeds, they don't need those..?"
>that scene where denethor admits he wishes Faramir had died instead of Boromir
>the utter sadness and defeat on Faramirs face
Phenomenal acting
