So what did we think of the ending? Was it kino or pretentious cringe?

They should have left it ambiguous whether he made the jump or not.

Von Trier's worst movie by far. Don't @ me, faggots

pretentious cringe, but i still liked it

The ending was the only good part. The rest was generic edgy serial killer crap.

Which ones would do you recommend then, this is the only one I've seen so far.
>The rest was generic edgy serial killer crap.
Are there that many movies about serial killers?

pretentious cringe with undeniable cinematic qualities

unironically? pretentious kino

The cgi part when they are falling in bubbles looked really bad and ruined my immersion.

>Are there that many movies about serial killers?
If you think otherwise you haven't seen enough movies

KINO of the highest order

>a von trier movie being anything other than pretentious cringe

The whole point of the ending was that he was literally being judged for his sinful deeds despite his perceptions and claims to the contrary. It would make no sense for him to be able to make the jump since one of the main points of the movie is how there's often an objectivity to evil.

Basically VonTrier accepted the fact only few people can understand their movies and he decided to spoonfeed the audience with more than evident movies, and people still cant understand it completely.

It must be really sad being Lars

It wasn't pretentious at all ,pretty straightforward. Jack goes to hell.

How old are you? Are you retarded?

Von Trier is garbage and has never made a single good film

he is panos cosmatos tier

>Von Trier is garbage and has never made a single good film
true
>he is panos cosmatos tier
mandy was legit

Never watched a LVT movie before, but I loved this one. I guess I didn't really "get it", but Matt Dillon's performance was fucking impeccable. Hopefully he gets more roles.

The intro of the movie literally let's us hear him being guided by Virgil through hell. I know you might not be familiar with the Divine Comedy, but to a traditionally educated person it's obvious from the first minutes of the film what happened and it was never meant to be ambiguous at any point.

it was pretentious and kino .... i should know i'm pretentious as fuck and loving life
