I'm simply too retarded to recognize any of these
Embarrassing
Kino through and through. I'd recommend one of my picks, The Night of the Hunter.

I don't even recognize films I have seen with these memes.

already seen it, very gud mobie
what's your mid left? pretty kino taste otherwise

Attached: 3x3.jpg (920x920, 214K)

not him but thats The VVitch. Whats your top left? I recommend The Man Who Sleeps

OP you have revealed to me how plebeian I am. Please reveal your kinos

Very feminine.
Good selection of stills. Like some of the choices, whiles others seem uninspired.
Rather personal. Try Jin-Roh, Brimstone, Lady Snowblood and A Prophet.
Casual stuff. Boring.
Very reddit.

names?

Mid left is The Witch. I know you nerds look down on newer entry level stuff but The Witch completely enthralled me. Felt extremely real for a period film, despite the film's mystical nature.

ITT: plebs + babbies

At least name them.

>Dragon Inn, Female Prisoner: Scorpion, Celine and Julie Go Boating
>Metro Manila, Flor de la mar, Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans
>Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors, The Passion of Anna, Diary of a Country Priest

What‘s the point of these shitty threads if you don‘t name the movies

signaling to noise and hoping someone sees it and becomes jealous

white heart-eternal forest-stendali
spiral-horizons-a japanese village
moon's pool-twilight-veredas

Check out Red Sorghum & Waltz with Bashir, I think you'd like them.
Asking and giving bumps the thread, that's pretty much it. Also, go check befunky.com/create/collage/ if you haven't made a 3x3 yet, it's the most handiest way of making them.

>post fucking random screenshots
>Jesus just tell me the name of the fucking movie
>HAHAHA IDIOT YOU DONT KNOW THESE FILMS?!? LET ME DUMB IT DOWN FOR YOU PLEB
>I’ve actually seen the fucking movies but can’t rememeber a specific frame from a 2+ hour film
>even worse someone is genuinely interested in seeing a film that looks interesting but because there are no fucking titles they can’t get any information on it

Christ these threads are ridiculously stupid

To generate discussion you dumb fucking reprobate

Name the films

Based

I'll wait for you to point out a single poster in this thread that has declined to share the names of their listed films.

>”discussion” = post picture and a person replies with JUST TELL ME FUCKING TITLE

wow what deep film theory we’re getting here

I mean i want to watch some of those and then i can come discuss them but i can't do that if you don't name the FUCKING MOVIES

...

How new are you, buddy?

2009

You’ve just proven my point. It doesn’t matter how “new” he is, he can be a fucking high school student asking about the movies that look interesting to him. Instead he just gets insulted and comes away with no title information.
What incredible film discussion!
Fuck these threads.

Year of birth, huh? That explains it.

quite an epic quip, my kind sir

Listen, fuckwit. If he had linked to a real 3x3 he would have gotten a real answer.

it is a real 3x3 and the names of it are well known you fucking retard

No shit, I meant a 3x3 that wasn't posted as a joke in literally every single 3x3 thread ever made.

>it’s not really screenshots of films you Fucking pleb

again, just proving my point. What amazing conversations of cinema we’re having!

These threads are for autists to feel good about themselves when they make their post and leave.

They don't generate discussion and they're shit threads. Sage.

People were sharing their 3x3's and trading questions about them until you decided to sperg that you don't like these threads. If they're such a pain in your ass why are you still here?

>TGTB&TU over FAFDM

it's better than fistful but not as good as goodbad

Why don’t people just provide the fucking titles with the 3x3 image? It doesn’t have to be on the image, it can be text in the post under the image.
It completely eliminates the ridiculous exchange of replying “titles?” then replying with the titles, a useless waste of time when the poster could provide this information in the original post.
The only reason to not provide the titles is yes, to inflate the ego of the poster.

TGTB&TU is bland af. The civil war battle is the only interesting part. Morricone's scoring does nothing to make the many dull shots in the film seem more interesting.

itt: irredeemable plebs who complain about not getting titles even when they get the titles instead of posting their own 3x3 since they're insecure so they have to project

last time I give titles in a 3x3
get better taste and get fucked

wah wah

If you haven't already seen Malle's works I recommend trying them out. Zazie dans le Métro is probably my favourite of his, doesn't take itself seriously at all, which is a refreshing quality when looking at the milieu it was released in. Quite straightforward, not laden with deep meaning as some of his other films. Beautiful composition, rivaling at points with The Conformist.
Another Malle's film, Black Moon, if you haven't seen it, I recommend it alongside Zazie, polar opposites one could say. Where Zazie satirizes the French society as a whole in a brazen way, Black Moon turns the focal point to the self, the house representing dasein. Critiquing or maybe just shining light on the world view some adopt which causes a divide between sexes, as well as how this can cause the feminine within wither away. The twins representing the ideal union between anima and animus, the eagle bringing "freedom" causes the counterpart to dissolve from the amalgamation and reach for the unobtainable mode of being. Feminist ideology being that which grants freedom, but in order to "obtain" it, forces the subject to cast away the masculine, causing a rift in the perfect balance of the feminine and masculine within oneself. The yin and yang fractured by the imbalance. That's my take on it, if you haven't seen it, I recommend those both.
Also if you have anything in mind that's similar to those two, feel free to recommend them to me.

These threads wouldn't last long if everyone listed the films on the 3x3, omitting names is a way of giving CPR to the thread before it is archived. It's not ego-stroking, it is self-preservation.

Attached: msc4.jpg (1675x1500, 1.32M)

Now this is a quality post and is proving me wrong. Thanks.

I will probably replace a couple of entries within a few months. I have seen about 10 films that I really love but I want to rewatch them before I make my decision, it doesn't feel right to call it a favourite if I've only seen it once (in these cases at least).

To keep the threads alive. And asking for a particular title can sometimes also generate discussion. Beyond that it also can reduce the shitposting (people can't hate what they don't recognize, so only people who actually have seen the films can make valid judgements about someones taste). This rests of course on anons being nice enough to actually reply with the titles when requested, which they in most cases do. It's pretty rare to see someone post obscure films just to stir shit up and then not give away the names, and when it happens it's not difficult to just ignore them.

Titles for middle-right, bottom-Center, bottom-right?

Come & See fucked me up big time. In particular I think of the scene of the raped girl walking down the road, and the scene at the very end where Flyora is staring down the portrait of Hitler. Chilling stuff.

It's probably the most intense experience I've had watching film. I didn't know I could be so affected. Since then I've taken the medium a lot more seriously in search of similar experiences. I did love movies before but there was some sort of switch after watching it.

Mid right - Thief or Reality
Bottom mid - Evdokia
Bottom right - The Snow Queen ('86)
If you want, here's the mega for Thief or Reality

I know its said about a lot of historical films, namely more accessible stuff like Saving Private Ryan, but I mean it 100% when I say Come & See felt like looking straight into the past.

Damn, thanks man

I agree completely, that's exactly how I've described it to others.

I'm 80% sure I've watched it but what is bottom right?

Notorious

That was my first thought actually but I wasn't sure. It's probably my favorite Hitchcock movie as well. If you've seen The 39 steps, do you think I should watch it?

I have not seen the 39 steps, but I still think you should probably see it

Top left, middle left, and middle? Middle left looks awfully familiar. I'm thinking Stray Dog even though I know thats wrong.
This is an excellent assortment of true, non-buzzword comfy films. Whats bottom right?

Notorious

What's the name for the tunnel one in the middle?

Top left is The Treasure of Sierra Madre
Middle left is High and Low
Middle is a very obscure Italian film called The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Attached: 3x3.png (1400x1400, 3.11M)

Le Révélateur

How the fuck did I not recognize The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly? I'm ashamed of myself, I actually love the film.

Probably the only actually good movie on that bait pic

what's the center?

mishima, a life in four chapters

Fucking excellent taste. We share Evil Dead II and La Haine.

just based on this pic alone i can tell you're a generic depressfaggot.

based, it still amazes me how the lead actress wasn't disabled at all, she did a really convincing job

yeah I googled her name and was shocked when I saw she was actually a normal pretty lady

crazy how she acted that good. I have been working with disabled people for 10 years and yeah couldn't tell the difference

Bottom middle please and thank you

Titles? I only recognize Celine & Julie and The Country Doctor.

this is the most confused grid ever.

I haven't seen many movies and don't recognize a lot of the stuff in these threads.
Can I get some recs?

Attached: movies.png (1000x1000, 1.8M)

Barely. It's a bit of entry level stuff and otherwise current movies. Gotta appreciate the inclusion of BvS though.

watch films made passed 1978 and you'll recognise more

You have the film taste of an old man with a weak heart. I mean that as a compliment.

I'm not good with recommendations but maybe try The Thin Man, One Two Three and Ruggles of Red Gap

>You have the film taste of an old man with a weak heart. I mean that as a compliment.
That sentence really touched me. Thank you. Can you elaborate on what you mean by "old man with a weak heart? Also, thanks for the recs.

I do watch stuff that came out after 1978, but I guess I'm more interested in older classics.

You don't seem like someone who watches a lot of thrillers is what I mean.

Thanks for clearing that up, although it seems kind of random, because thrillers aren't the only genre missing on my mosaic, but yeah, you can say I love a good laugh a lot more.

didn't see any in this thread I really liked

Attached: 3bytree.jpg (920x920, 199K)

If you haven't seen these; Taste of Tea, Travellers and Magicians, Secret Sunshine & Last Night, they are worth checking out, I think you'd like them, based on your 3x3.
