Hugo Boss uniforms
It was the biggest war of all time, imbecile.
tragic ending though
Say what you want about the Nazis (good or bad), but since history is told from the perspective of the victors, the losing side had their "bad guy" aesthetic down pat. Throw in the visuals from the camps and you have yourself one hell of a fucking story to tell.
It was also the most /fa/ era in history. Not just the nazi uniforms, but the clothes normal people wore.
Probably that you start of thinking it's all black and white, but along the line you learn that it's all muddled and gray
The final redpill is when you realize the commies were the enemies all along, and the anglos betrayed all of Eastern Europe and destroyed their own empire just because they were butthurt.
This doc was too Bongcentric at times. It spent more time on Malaysia, Burma, and India than it did on the Pacific Islands theater. And it tried to imply that the Bong's use of Hobart's Funnies was made Gold and Juno Beaches easy compared to Omaha, while ignoring the fact the DD Sherman was a Funny design and its inability to cross rough seas was what caused the first wave to bog down in the first place.
The story was a Shakespeare-tier tragedy.

Lebanese Civil War is that conflict you hear about from time to time but always think "god damn hipsters" as you continue reading about your capeshit (world war II). Then you finally one day, out of sheer boredom, watch something about the Lebanese Civil War and you think "Damn! All these groups! All this aesthetic! This is like arthouse underground kino, why isn't this in the mainstream?"
the good guys losing
Nobody cares about brown people killing each other, and I say that as someone of Lebanese descent.
they did have their aesthetic down pat
I think it's because of how perfectly it sets itself up for the final installment in the trilogy. I know the third in a trilogy is generally weaker than the other installments, but it's normally just to tie up the loose ends, right the wrongs of the previous two etc.
elaborate please. I've never found any actual movie or documentary. Just read a book about the conflict.

have some kataeb song for your effort
The original was better.
Villains are actually capable, have sympathetic background and great aesthetics. Part of you wishes they would win. That alone makes it a memorable performance.
