>she is the Hunger Games/Divergents archetype and is going to start a revolution in the next 3 movies Fuck. You know that's exactly what they are going to do
Always think it would be nice to add a few more lines in the locker room scene before her first game "You made these for me?" "Actually I made these for the guy who killed my daughter. But I said there is no good or bad in body parts it depends on the user "
Nolan Morris
I finally did it bros. This was my third and final viewing and I noticed so much during it. It was the first IMAX movie I've ever seen, and my thoughts on IMAX is that it's kinda like RealD except it's a bigger screen, and brighter too, and ITS LOUDER THAN AN ATOM BOMB HOLY SHIT I'm broke now too and I have homework overdue but I think it was worth it. I also went to RIA and saw a lot of guns, so that was cool, too. I almost got laid in a McDonalds I lost my DL tho will post more
Carson Peterson
>loli This, especially with Disney. >ok james we'll give you the money but only if you increase the socio-political themes, make nova some kind of nazi Cameron is a pseudolefty of course he will

thanks for this input
your words matter in our lives

That's charitable, but yes, the choreography was pretty good overall. I liked the moon scene especially.

Cameron owns the rights. Disney can't tell him to do shit.

Reminder to the lurkers. Yea Forums DOES NOT like pleb trash the cycle is never wrong >plebs come to Yea Forums to talk about it and spew their optimistic and positive opinions about it >the patrician regular posters either wait for for the rip or are in the minority >the plebs leave because they have other boards to shitpost on >all that's left are the regular Yea Forums posters >they usually loves it since movies like this tend to be comfy
I think people throw praise on to Cameron so much because it was his baby at the beginning. He owns the rights and had been talking about making the film for 25 years, and he wrote the script. However, Rodriguez did direct it and input his own style and he deserves just as much credit since he clearly cared to.
Some things I noticed on this viewing through: >Yes, the dialogue is actually VERY expositiony, every other line is "I am x" and "You were x", the sequel should have a longer running time and show more while doing less. >Hugo just doesn't know what to say half the time, and the other half is awkward or doesn't make sense >The whole Zapan vs Hugo arc is actually very well done up until they're in front of the church >There's lots of examples of cause and effect and setup and payoff. For instance, Alita wants the Berserker body but Ido doesn't give it to her because she'll become too dangerous. Then she goes to fight Grewishka in her doll body and she asks for the help of other warriors, but they all abandon her in the same guise that Ido did. So when she goes to Solo fight Grewishka and he almost defeats her, Ido saves her, and as he carries her out of the Kansas, Cherin challenges Ido and that she's doing all of it to spite him, so he wants to enact revenge by giving Alita the Berserker body, the thing she wanted in the first place. What she REALLY wanted was better odds against Grewishka. That's why she went to the bar in the first place.
Joseph Nelson
Yea Forums came back Yea Forums is slowly making a come back Yea Forums was making a comeback but then the last jedi came out
Anthony Flores
The thing with the dialogue being expostionary, is it fits the fish out of water excuse, since Alita doesn't know about the world, we're learning about it to. Also, depending on who's talking, you learn something different. Ido wants nothing to do with motorball at first, but we learn more about it from Hugo since he's into it. The fight choreography and CG in Black Panther is awful. youtube.com/watch?v=crtHTlP2T5A
I hate it when you watch an earlier scene with the knowledge given from later scenes and it's different. There was no reason for Ido to yell at the Crab bot.
Thomas Gray
>Yea Forums came back Did they really? Last time I checked it was full of mumble rap meme threads and the same old 20 variations of Yea Forumscore threads where people post the same covers with zero discussion.
Jose Williams
>Yea Forums came back >unironically defending 16-year olds music taste lmao

To me, it enriches the film. I see new details from a different angle I hadn't considered before, and they're all over the movie.
David Fisher
If you hate the Mouse so much, why didn't you see Lego Movie Part 2?
This particular scene was played by an artist from Cirque du Soleil, it's MoCap.
Hunter Wood
This movie has some shortcomings. One of them are those pedestrians in the iron city. They all looked weird. Halfway between Blade Runner cyberpunk and Zion of Matrix, but more "healthy" and shiny and colorful. A little like the Power Ranger movie.
In that case people in Machete look more interesting. I don't mean they are realistic but they are stylized.
The town folks in Iron town tried to break away from grimedark style but failed to have their own style
Lucas Long
Illuminati 'luci'ferian garbage.
Jaxon Evans
Also like Yea Forums, it's just full of spics now. I know this since I've seen normalfags in my spic college discuss about Yea Forumsshit. Spics literally never bring nothing new to discussion, we are honestly the cancer killing this site.
Ethan Young
It's too differing hatreds occuring at once One is the tired feeling that I get at Disney's bullshit becoming the EA of filmmakers The Other is what I want all filmmakers to strive for. I think the era of family and kid films is over, not just for me, but for the world. We as a society should make our kids strive to develop beyond our own selves and to become superior to their previous generation, and we will never do so by making them retarded with interactive 4th wall Dora bullshit and 'heh' jokes
Isaac Baker
You mean it's not a puppet controlled by the animators? That's really nice to hear. Yeah I begin to see the potential of these stuff.
In those scenes made by puppeteers you always see them displaying the girl's body and you can almost feel it's like animators were drawing an adult cartoon
Gabriel Thompson
All Rodriguez did was interpret/adapt Camerons production notes and script. There's a reason why James Cameron is listed as the first producer during the credits.
Cameron Bennett
I did, and even though I wasn't expecting it to be as mature as it was, it was still just an okay movie.
Thomas Green
There's no reason to not use the manga as source material for the sequels. When you use the manga, you basically have the entire movie storyboarded for you. Any deviation from the manga is entirely on the director's vision and desire. Hell, you don't need a good director for these kinds of things, just a good writer who understands the limitations of screenplay and putting actors in front of a camera. Don't underestimate the value of a storyboard. It makes the entire movie making process more efficient and cost effective. I'll say it now, more than half of the establishment shots in this film were ripped straight from the manga frames.
That's the effect of shooting in a stage studio. The crowd actors aren't really in a crowd or under the sun.
Ayden Rodriguez
Thing is, they changed a couple things with the characters that wouldn't necessarily line up now to some future events in the manga, like Ido. Apparently the second and third scripts are already done, or at minimum planned out, so it will be interesting what they came up with.
Alright I just left the theatre for my third and final viewing of alita. This time I managed I pretty much focused on all the little details since I knew the overall plot so I wasn't distracted. The best part unironically are all of the Hugo/alita scenes. That's where her love emotions really shine. The first meeting surprisingly was much more impactful on me than the previous viewings. Her shyness was super adorable and her voice when she first starts talking was adorable as fugg as well. Also the symbolsism was not lost on me when he LITERALLY ASKS FOR HER HAND when they first meet.
Notable mention ali left auuuch better impression one. He was massively underutilized. Hugo was alright. Ultimately he is alitas progress marker not the other way around. The city IS too clean. Everyone is wearing jeans and itlooks borderlijne like some tropical paradise. The extras all sucked. Zapan does have the Mari on hid forehead and is visible in p much all his scenes.
HOWEVER his death scene which was my favorite was utterly ruined because I couldn't stop laughing at his stupid little hop trying to get away from the ring of death on the cable really is and how he screams like a bitch when he's torn apart lmao
All in all this is a waifu for the ages. Even if we don't get a sequel camereuz captured lightning in a bottle with alita.
How much you wanna bet they will do this, but as they can't legally, they'll create some discount version based off of it. Change just enough things that they can't get in trouble for blatantly copying the movie copying the ova copying the manga. Or adapt another manga similar to Battle Angel.
Xavier Campbell
I would say it is 65% but if they show the sky city in the next movie it could reach 86-90%
Aaron Roberts
>they cant legally Disney is buying Fox They could put an Alien queen in a Disney Princess movie if they wanted
Why was this movie so good? It's almost like they had everything mapped out ahead of time. Every scene matters and progresses the characters. List off any little details you missed in the story on first viewing, curious what you guys found.
the half second shot of Hugo recognising where the grindcutters came from when grewishka explodes the bar door was a great touch
also shoutouts to how incredible the entrance of turning the door in to woodchips was
Luke Ward
I assumed the dog ate the rest of it or the bot crushed it.
Jeremiah Roberts
I just left the theatre but something I never realized was how Hugo literally asks for her hand when they first meet. Talk about symbolism.
Blake Campbell
There's definitely a theme with hands in the film that was added. The beginning when they first meet, the kiss scene, and then when he's hanging by a thread and his now robotic arm ripped off. Really ironic how his position changed.
Levi King
Is there porn of Alita on the internet?

I mean, look at Rosa's lips. She sucks on the chocolate more than final Alita does. For the most part though, all of Rosa's little movement made it in to the character.

Who did it?
I knew 3D fanart exists but this is way too quick
Josiah Allen
The movie's been out for 2 weeks in America, user. Some fanart comes out within hours of something getting announced.
Oliver Foster
I got most of the ones other ALITAbros are talking about, but what impressed me the most was how well she was able to express her feelings in CGI.
>dat motorball scene where Hugo needs to go rob some dude and she smiles, bite her lips, and just acts like she is the happiest girl in the world because he took her there
Not to mention those "come on... caress my cheek already Hugo" faces she makes.
that's like in movie 5 and anomaly was completely irrelevant to the plot
Zachary James
1. This is who I am/apartment scene 2. First meet/can I have your hand 3. Powerball match/thanks....for everything 4. Hugo dying inside church/what did you do what did you do/so cold/I'd give him my life if I could. 5. Alita/Hugo on cable(ft. We'd always be on the run...together) 6. Chocolote 7. Motorcycle ride first time 8. Alita touching Hugo's robo hand 8. First time at church-youve seen zalem
When Alita and Hugo and his two friends are hiking to the crater lake and they're talking about U.R.M. The azn girl spells out the acronym "YEW ARE EMM" and it almost sounds like she says "YOU ARE THEM". For half a second you think she's calling out Alita for being martian.

Sure, you just have to film it like Serbian Movie.

Only complaint I had was that Jashugan wasn't a force of nature on the circuit and somehow got wrecked by a random player. Unless that was foreshadowing a future plot point.
Tyler Clark
Jesus, guys. It's been less than a week and I'm already pining to see her on the screen again. Fuck, I'm going to go see it again. Goddamn Alita, eating away at my wallet.
Benjamin Moore
You're so transparent. I just want you to know I watched your movie for free.
Grayson Price
I think with all of the people going to rewatch Alita the movie will have a very funny looking drop off...
Robert Bailey
Fuck yeah I forgot. There's just so many good scenes of them together I was actually surprised when I tried remembering them all.
Ethan Sullivan
What we cannot speak about we must pass over in silence.
We had to close our screening of Green Book to accommodate a third theater for Alita at the AMC I manage. We had 50+ people standing in line for tickets for Alita before we got rid of Green Book. Our Green Book screenings were empty for 3 days in a row. We never had a full theater even on opening night. Alita has given us so much business I think we're going to be showing it for longer than usual.
Jackson Turner
In the movie we only see him getting a tune up.
Aaron Clark
What city is this? I've seen it twice in Denver and theaters were practically empty each time. Granted one was an Imax matinee today at noon...
Wyatt Butler
>We had 50+ people standing in line for tickets for Alita before we got rid of Green Book. Our Green Book screenings were empty for 3 days in a row. We never had a full theater even on opening night
Go back to fanfiction.bet with this smut with the rest of your kind.
Also missed the bar scene >Show new side of yourself, super confident, shit talking Zapan >Fight starts >Literally choking a guy out >Hugo tasers another guy >Puppy dog eyes mode engage >"Thanks Hugo"
Whats the best alita and Hugo scene then? Because offering her heart at the apartment and offering her hand the first time they meet around pretty goddamn close for me. The intensity of the former and the innocence of the latter are amazing to behold.
what do you mean trolls? I don't believe it either, I live in a college town and the last two times I went there couldn't have been more than 7 other people in the theater
Jaxon Bennett
I wasn't trolling. I would genuinely like to know where the film was packing theaters.
I'd love a sequel but I know this is like Avatar: there won't be one.
Joseph Nguyen
How do you people like the city? It seems to be between acceptable and dystopian. It's bigger and more decorated than I thought. The buildings are taller than usual Mad Max shanty towns. The stadium is also prettier and more positive. You even see female sports fans waving plastic stuff.
On the other hand it doesn't have subways, highways, or bridges. The cars are third world tutu cars. Most people are walking. But the city is so big.
It's acceptable anyway
Aiden Rogers
>Ido has a male body in his garage >Told Alita that he has no body replacement for her anymore Ido knows Hugo’s body was shit so he doesn’t want to put his daughter in it.

It's actually an older pic, I've gone a few more times since then.
The more reasonable explanation is they just don't want another Mad Max. There are too many of them and it's boring.
Wyatt Evans
Hate to admit it, you're probably right. 3 out of the 5 times I've gone, it was like early morning Tuesday and Wednesday.
Brayden Russell
Given the mood of the film, I think it's suitable. Not depressing like Blade Runner but rundown enough that it's not ideal living conditions for people.
Caleb Baker
I wish that Alita was real. She would find and kill these trolls ruining the general without a second thought.
Ryder Ward
Well there are varying degrees of cyberpunk aesthetic. I would say like there's Johnny Mnemonic style clutterfuck cyberpunk where everything is dirty, grimy and borderline claustrophobic, and then you have something like Deus Ex/DX:HR/DX:MD where it's pretty close to modern city aesthetic but with a sleeker "teched up" look to it, and then you mave like Mirrors Edge where it's just clean as fuck.
So as far as where Alita ranks, I would say it's a little closer to the DX aesthetic, but marginally cleaner. At least as far as the marketplace goes. The nighttime aesthetic shifts to the left of the spectrum towards Johnny Mnemonic clunkshit but still aways away from that.
Kayden Watson
>The more reasonable explanation is they just don't want another Mad Max. There are too many of them and it's boring.
They're both great, but the heart scene does it for me. It's such an Alita thing to do. I can't imagine that scene with anyone but Alita. Chills. Also it's big moment for Hugo too, we get to see who he WANTS to be.
nope, 6:30 in the evening, which is a little soon after work hours but definitely not in the incel time range
Jayden Lopez
>a shitload of people criticize your movie >"okay but the ones who are trolls don't count" >"what makes someone a troll?" >"if they criticize the movie"
Aiden Gray
I expected more from Ido. He should say something about how he changed his mind on Alita and motor ball. He should say more about Alita isn't his little girl
But that's never spelled out and Alita still cuddled on his shoulder.
Aiden Edwards
>nope, 6:30 in the evening, which is a little soon after work hours but definitely not in the incel time range
There isn't one. I can't wait for the bluray so I can stop making shitty camrip webms, it's a shame for her to be so blurry.
Hunter Edwards
I can literally see Disney trying to do something trans considering the bezerker body was in a male shape but alita changed into what she knew her identity was
Easy for Disney to swoop in and try to indoctrinate little kids.
Zachary Sanders
He's in the game before that scene but it's easy to miss. I kept an eye out for him during my second viewing and his motorball body was unmistakable once I was looking for it. He shows off his fighting style briefly and then gets ran over by one of the big bulldozer guys.
Luis Lee
7:00 and 9:00 PM is when all the couples and families go watch movies, user.
Zachary Diaz
The thearers here in LA are packed. I've seen it twice. Once on a date with my wife and again with my parents, my children and their friends.
Brandon Jones
But Ido does change throughout the film, as does Alita. She embraces him as sort of a father figure after telling him she's not his daughter and Ido learns to let Alita be who she wants to be, like how he makes her those skates for motorball. He didn't have to say anything, it was clear from his actions. >Now you know who you are.
You watch too much Marvel, user. Only patrons brought to the theater in the short bus need everything "spelled out".
Nolan Butler
He also outright says "You were right. A warrior's spirit deserves a warrior's body." user is just a brainlet.
Tyler Nelson
>your anti-matter heart can power the town for many years Don't you mean her heart can vaporize the town?
Are they foreshadowing she will become a tree trunk that suspends the city?
Cameron Barnes
I don't think the armor originally had a male body. It looked like it had room for very small boobs (sub A cup needing to wear a training bra size) and did have a bit of a feminine waist.
Kayden Reed
Like Alita said, "You told me the story of the war when the ground shook and the sky burned. Of the ones that survived who awoke to a differed world, where the powerful can prey on you. But that’s not the way it has to be".
Michael Harris
thank you for your service

did they liked it?
Jose Green
This. The movie only used expository dialogue to it's absolute most required to set up some stuff. Everything else is clear from their actions, something other blockbusters clearly fail to realize.
yeah my sister said the same thing, it was too abrupt jumping to him in the lockeroom completely supporting her and making her skates. It didn't bother me though, and I didn't even notice. But on reflection it does seem like a convo was left out. Like him asking her WHY she wants to do motorball. Presumably she'd tell him to get money for Hugo, and then he'd say you can't buy your way to Zalum. It would have been nice to have a scene here.
Henry Davis
A message to box office trolls from Alita: Battle Angel, "You made the biggest mistake of your life".
They loved it. My son was asking if we were going to get it on DVD when it comes out and I said yes.
Leo Parker
Would be very disappointed if they do that. One of the charm of the manga was that Gally/Kelly was morally ambiguous and inconsistent sometimes.
Would be excited if they let Alita become a mercy for Salem
Asher Williams
>DVD Oh look, a caveman!
Adam Anderson
>hugo 'falls' in love
Aaron Fisher
But user, that's not important, you don't need that scene him asking that. From the way he starts saying she shouldn't be wasting her time on motorball, to her wanting to be a hunter warrior, to her demanding answers from him, he gradually, through other conversations unrelated to motorball, learns in general to let her do what she wants. We don't need that scene of him asking her specifically about motorball, because we already had that about being a hunter warrior and the berzker suit. It's like no one can connect threads together now or something.
>manga Ido erases his own memory and is completely dropped from the story after like book 6 or something >manga Hugo basically forgotten when Figure comes on the scene...who sticks around for a volume or two and then fucks off >manga motorball gets two volumes of total filler and then is never shown or mentioned again
What??? Why is this paced so poorly? The movie is better than the manga which is better than the OVA. Kinda weird.
But then why doesn't he ask her why she's doing it? If you presume he does, then how does she answer? She would say it's Hugo's plan for her to "become a big motorball star, make a pile of money, we could go to Zalum together". So then why doesn't Ido tell her then that you can't buy your way to Zalem. This would be earlier than when she learns it, after it's too late to tell Hugo.
Austin Cook
>last showing was several hours ago >kicked to the curb after only 2 weeks 69 threads died for this
>families still eat dinner >wife and children are not allowed to eat until the BREADWINNER gets home at 7 How do you people get so fat if you only eat once a day?
Levi Anderson
why does this flop have shills?
Adrian Nelson
Also, the movie calls it "Zalem", the OVA calls it "Salem", the manga calls it "Tiphares", and Last Order calls it "Salom"? Is this some kind of Romanization discrepancy? The fuck does "Tiphares" come from?
Hunter Williams
>the manga got credited in the credit scene >but not the OVA why? they got the idea from the anime right? So you can only give credits to the guy you settled the copyrights issue with?
There's no way this shit is getting a sequel. I will drink my piss if that happens.
Henry Moore
Because the OVA was based off of the manga too? Plus Cameron owns the rights to both, he could if he really wanted to have been a complete jack ass and never give credit where credit is due and pretend he came up with everything himself.
Ryder Phillips
You're betting against a man with hundreds of millions of dollars and his waifu. Better start practicing now to get the gag reflex down.
Gavin Gomez
You might want to delete that, I think I can see your card number...
It's no happening but if it does I'm streaming it desu, drinking piss probably isn't that bad, eating shit though
Xavier Collins
Yes, and it's so smug that it's adorable. She know can she whoop anyone's ass in that bar, and that's even with the doll body.
Ayden Davis
where the fuck are you? I went twice and the turn out was a bit weak.
Dylan Fisher
she looks high as fuck
Ian Murphy
Why can’t you go to the cinema user, what’s stopping you? Don’t tell me it’s about money ;_;
Daniel Foster
>learns in general to let her do what she wants Sorry I don't see him learning that. So I would say he got sidelined. But that ok cos in a movie we need to prioritize and don't give everyone too much screen time.
By the way you reminded me of something. None of them ever seems to worry when Alita literally said she is drawn to conflict. She is fucking saying she is blood thirsty and homicidal. and it's actually something the Manga Ido was worried about. But I guess they were all morally ambiguous to begin with.
Logan Mitchell
she turns the smug up to 100 in that scene and it's great.
Kevin Cooper
In smaller cities there will be smaller turnouts, but that has more to do with the fact that people don't go to theaters as much anymore.
Sebastian Gutierrez
SHE DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING IN ITALIAN GODFUCKINGDAMMIT WHEN IS THE BLUERAY GONNA BE RELEASED FUCK
Julian Stewart
That whole scene was endearing, she was such a dork
Isaac Robinson
what's a good place, you think the regal on olympic downtown? i saw pacific rim and avengers 2 there. I just want to see it again with more audience reactions.
Owen Russell
Guess it depends on the perspective, but I saw him change throughout the film for sure. But Ido was worried about Alita being drawn to conflict, the way he confronts her in the bar about starting that fight just shows that. And after she's torn apart, realizes he can't stop her drive and instead decides to give her that berzerker body.

Captain Marvel is getting a billion, keep seething
Charles Morgan
I got back from IMAX a couple hours ago and there were no more than 8 or 10 people there. I was so fucking scared I'd be alone though, it was so quiet I could hear the projector squealing when changing tracks.
Gavin Torres
I dunno I only go to AMC because they're the only theater chain anywhere near me.
Zachary Jackson
it wont still make it a good movie
Thomas Edwards
I did a matinee yesterday and was alone in IMAX. Poor Alita, not getting the love she deserves.
David Clark
Goddamn, out of all the factions, the aesthetic of the Mechanicus is by far the best. Space Marines can get fucked.
Nicholas Rogers
Another good scene scene is when she tenderly touches his hand after Ido transplanted him to a rushed cyborg body. When they first met he looked down on/exploited cyborgs and she was insecure about not being fully human, by movie end she has a better body than his but would still sacrifice everything for him, and he felt she was more human than the riffraff he dealt with daily.
Jeremiah Torres
Rule 34: If it exists, there is porn of it. You are now in charge of making there be Alita porn, user.
Leo Thompson
I know everyone is focused on the box office take, but I'm impressed by how much other merchandise is selling. The manga box set is sold out everywhere I've looked, the digital versions are bestsellers and even the movie art book is up there on the sales charts. I wouldn't be surprised if the original OVA gets a remastered bluray release at this point.
Cameron Kelly
UHH, maybe you just hate women, sweetheart?
Aaron Bennett
This, the deluxe editions are bestsellers on Amazon now too.
Jordan Butler
Hey everyone! I will cross post this on the next general once this hits bump limit, but I am starting an /ABAG/ fan work archive! Anything submitted throughout these threads, if you made them, I want to gather them up and save them for archival. This could range from .webms, fan drawings, memes, whatever you've done, I want it. If you've created something specifically for these threads, reply with what you got! Alita deserves all the love!
this movie is a fucking drug. i didn't want to admit it at first, but so is she. damn. damn you cameron. GODDAMN YOU. but thanks
Ethan Sanders
UHH, no?
Andrew Bailey
So long as Cameron can source the original film negatives for the OVA, a 4K remaster is possible. Not like the OVA really needs it, it's not the highest quality of art or animation, but I guess anything coming over in 1998 was seen as novel. I'd prefer to see the Iria:Zeiram BDs or Armitage III, coincidentally two more cyberpunk anime featuring female leads.
Jose Baker
And Alita is the beloved Angel of the God Machine.
ok, tomorrow for the first time in my life i'm going to make a fanart
William Hughes
Saw it for my 6th and final time tonight in 3d... but QUESTION:
Did anyone else notice her body in the last scene when she's standing on the motorball platform pointing at Zalem? Every other time I've watched this, I've just taken it as armor she wore over her berserker body...
But tonight I went back and noticed it was an entirely new body, based on her armpit and thigh joints. What body is that? What do you think happened to her berserker body? What would cause her to switch out?
Wish there were more novels and artworks focusing on the CM. I mean Astartes are cool and all, but they take up a far too disproportionate amount of the spotlight. Yeah, yeah, flagship faction, but still.
Carter Howard
I seriously hope that the original artist is making a killing from royalties. The manga guys get paid jack shit. He deserves to make it big from this.

Hm, not sure. I assumed it was just the berzerker body with armor on it.
>The manga box set is sold out everywhere I've looked
I will get my revenge when the Alita II movie reprint arrives
Austin Butler
>you can find info in Manga spoilers, but I can't believe they'd skip over that, so I think it's just the Beserker body and it's hard to tell.
Thomas Watson
Just got back from this. Good movie.
Lucas Allen
How did this fail so hard in america? I thought people liked capeshit mostly for the action scenes and this definitively had better action scenes than most capeshit. The posters had the "hero" aesthetic to attract them too. The dialogue is shit but I don't expect them to have problems with that. I don't get it.
I've been spoiled a bit just in these threads alone, so I kind of know what youre talking about.
Makes me wonder if in the sequel we will start in the time between Hugo's death and her last pose in the movie?
Angel Morris
>fail so hard in america? Bladerunner. Dredd. Mad Max: Fury Road
This is the norm.
Ethan Martinez
It was a different time.
Chase Cox
Disney marketing machine went into full overdrive to overshadow this movies release. The media outlets can't stop spewing about CM - there's no clickbait for this movie so it gets no attention from them.
Jayden King
Because this isn't capeshit, and since 2008 Hollywood cracked the normie code and don't need to do anything but by-the-numbers superhero movies.
Chase Gutierrez
>Iria Oh man, I would kill for her to get a movie half as good as Alita, but I'll settle for a bluray release.
Gabriel Thompson
I'd imagine it's a different body. Pic related is how it's in the manga.
>The trailers made the movie look like trash. People all over the internet lambasted, mocked and memed this movie for being the girl with the bug eyes. >The glut of failed Western anime adaptations (speed racer and edgo of tomorrow aside) has burned any goodwill the american public has toward the idea of live action anime movies >We live in an ironic and detached society, and the earnest and honest dialogue can turn people off. People have been ruined by all the self-aware, smarmy and ironic quips and jokes that plague blockbusters these days, and anything sincere gets mocked.
Pic related, a generalized reaction before the movie even came out.
Actually they at the start of the sequel she could just have both sets of armor, and just wears the motorball armor when she plays the game. Wouldnt' be hard now that I think of it.
Charles Campbell
Reluctance to hurt him. Or she will be in the berserk, but it will be harmed. Alita will be transplanted into the racing body, Nova will steal the body of the berserk. Give it to Zapan.
Ryan Harris
It's hard because it does take more than the length of a trailer to get used to it, but it doesn't bother you more than 5 min in the film.
Jaxon Garcia
After reading manga I think they did a pretty good job in converting manga scenario into the movie. I like most of new ideas, older Ido isn't as cool as manga Ido but his father-like relationships with Alita were made much better. The only weak part of this adaptation is Hugo and I guess they just didn't had more time to establish his arc properly. He's still alright but manga Hugo was overall better.
Blake Bell
Bros, I'm not really liking manga's Alita. She turns pretty sour after the motorball, nothing like the ball of purity that was the first two arcs. I'm afraid the sequels's Alita will turn out the same.
Aaron Cook
Ok. Can you marry her then?

Charles Price
This. I'd say that the trailers in general were shit and looked off. Strangely enough the eyes didn't appeal to me in any of the trailers and even pictures of her looked off. Pretty much immediately during the first scene they looked great to me and I thought she was one of the cutest things ever put on the screen. Maybe it's something about the immersion or seeing her design properly in motion. Not sure what that's about.
Jaxson Williams
They could say something like that body can't give her better speed because it was designed for battle, not for races.
Landon Rivera
They get barely 40% of China earnings so it hasn't even gotten production back yet.
Juan Walker
Dude, it's ok - knowing Cameron, she's going to turn into a badass 80's action hero a la Arnie in T2 or any of the others.
Someone should draw that in manga style, make a parody of the scene with Doctor Nova. >I know the secret of America. >When American's turn 19 their brain is replaced by a burger.
