Light did nothing wrong

Was Light gay?

Everything after L dies is so poprly written and is just an increasingly offensive series of asspulls

Was L though?

Is DN edgy? I have it on my watch list forever but I don't want to fall into the dark/edgy weebo shit.

Post better masterminds than Kira

Attached: 371541.jpg (225x350, 31K)

He never seemed sexually interested in Misa, or any other female character for that matter.
And he only feigned interest in Kiyomi Takada for his own gain.

Yeah but foot massage

Oh shit, I misread L as Light.
L seems asexual if anything.

connecting himself to the police operation was pretty fucking retarded

Lelouch vi Britannia.

Attached: 1503842899750.jpg (2048x833, 290K)

Kinda but it's not edgy for its own sake.

He still beat it though

it can't be "weeaboo shit", it's japanese. do you even know what the words you misspell mean?

it fucking sucks

I only watched till the mock execution scene with his dad

It was pure kino before that, but I dont remember, for some reason the quality dropped off massively the next episode, and I stopped watching

can we have one thread without your sneed shit

you missed the cute part where light, L, and misa dance in a circle like friends. and the episode 20 OP

No, they were both asexual.
Lighto got off on his JUSTICE, as L did on his.
Recall that Light didn't give two shits about Misa in a negligee.

negligeent boyfriends rule. I wish I had someone to mistreat and ignore me.

Based and Doormat pilled

Near was so lame. I should have dropped it when he was introduced.

no, really

what the FUCK was his problem

Attached: Ryuk.jpg (177x285, 9K)

Imagine you have literally nothing to do, what would you do if you had to keep from being bored?

the writer obviously ran out of ideas after he killed L, Death Note is so fucking similar to western tv shows compared to other anime in that regard.

I'd gamble with the guys who look cooler than me.

You've done that for hundreds of years, if not thousands.
What now?

>the writer obviously ran out of ideas after he killed L

He should have just ended it there.
Light had won at that moment, everything else felt terrible the way they did it.

this show sucks. the definition of "cuckime"

>controls the world for 8 years

What?

Isn't it only like 2-3 years at most? He was found out like the 1st week in.

Actually he was initially planning to end the series with light winning again, but I think one of the editors stepped in and said no.

this cutie has everything. she's got brains, brawn, and is easily swayed by chocolate.

Attached: Mello_-_Death_Note_ep28.jpg (250x141, 8K)

Was Light normal before he touched the Death Note? or was he a sociopath from the start?

come on now

>Isn't it only like 2-3 years at most?
2-3 years dealing with L, 5 years ruling unopposed till Near and what's his face showed up.

t. weebo

When he's free of the note in the episodes 15~25 he seems like a normal caring person. We don't get his inner monologues like we do when he has the note so it could just be playing nice because it's the right thing to do.

ehh yeah kinda
more teenage angst than edge, really

>she

>be Watari
>be a great inventor and made a fortune
>train little boys in your orphange to be the best detectives
>be complete selfless

So did he ever touch them?

Attached: 4248405_orig.jpg (447x396, 19K)

He was an apathetic powerless sociopath, would probably have turned into a businessman had he not gotten the Death Note

wh-why you got to be like that? We know L was the one who molested Watari.

He wanted to join da police like a good white boy.

What are some other pieces of media starring brilliant sociopaths? I tried the Lelouch anime but I was disgusted

>Was Light normal before he touched the Death Note?
He was apathetic and detached even before the Death Note, what the fuck are you talking about?

Attached: 1426988070034.png (1920x1080, 1.54M)

I like the characters but the premise is quickly getting old. The main character likes the girl, but instead of advancing the plot we're just going to get 24 episodes of lite flirting while being too embarrassed to do anything. Every episode from now on is going to be about helping random fucking non characters while creating awkward situations. It would be nice if I were wrong but this is cuckime we're talking about.

>really liked it on my first watch
>really hated it on my second

I made it 7 or 8 episodes in before dropping it. I even made it through the bullshit Evangelion anime but I couldn't stand code geass
The Prestige is a movie about a sociopath stage magician

Gotta rewatch it soon, such a good series even after watching a lot of fucking anime and movies I still love it, feels good to not become jaded and still being able to enjoy things

Attached: 1529102014047.jpg (1200x1600, 374K)

>feels good to not become jaded and still being able to enjoy things
Give it a few years.

Attached: 1529574308351.jpg (446x564, 78K)

He's done a few interviews where he says he wanted everything to end after Light won, the only reason he kept it going was because of it's insane popularity at the time.

what is that thing

Yea Forums

>the prestige
Just take in consideration the machine didnt actually work

what does evangelion have to do with it?

Loved The Prestige, best sociopaths on screen are the ones in shows and movies where you don't get a character exclaiming it for no reason

It was another anime I wanted to drop but somehow made it through.

You have no internet access in the Shinigami world user.

I'm actually past that phase

'my intellect and taste are friggin superior and everything but the most obscure' deep' shit is below me' was an embarrassing stage of my life

i'm going to assume this is lazy shit-posting because otherwise that's a really disgusting mentality you've developed

Hm. I should do a re-watch. The last time I watched this was when I was 13. Didn't know he spent half a decade before Near popped up.

He died a virgin.

Attached: 38.jpg (529x430, 160K)

You should read it. The author would reread the last chapter a dozen times before writing the new one to make sure he wouldn't fuck up the continuity. The bullshit scene where the camera spins around Near and he focuses on the TV with Mikami on it is a lot less bullshit and more reasoned in the manga

Its established he's a well known womanizer and had experience with women before finding the death note

They gloss over it, the only real indication that time has gone by is his younger sister is an adult now.

>couldn't stand Code Geass
That's one of the only anime kino's though

I have seen over 9000 cuckimes and there's nothing about this show that's special. Yeah it's a comedy so it's not supposed to have a good plot but these little situations that each episode is about are not funny and the show is quickly losing its edge, the edge being that both characters actually like each other. I'd rather watch manime like dororo

No, he was the cause of his own failure. As soon as he revealed to the police he had access to their info it became just a matter of time because it narrowed the suspects down to a few thousand men. Killing the FBI agents and Naomi Misora narrowed it further.

He lost right then, everything was just a matter of time. If he had resisted trying to personally go after L he could never possibly be caught.

Attached: 1547213825243.jpg (750x927, 180K)

but it sucks. its head is so far up its own ass. the chess scene on the bus or whatever is where i couldn't stand it anymore and deleted the whole folder

Attached: 1298777040422.jpg (540x4011, 1015K)

Monster and Ergo Proxy are much better "serious" anime shows.

That was in the first 4~ episodes out of 37, he managed to do it right under their nose, join them, and then become the new L because they trusted him so much. If Watari didn't have a genius factory, if Mikami hadn't acted without Light's instruction, Light would have continued winning until he died of old age.

there's an episode where the characters literally chase a cat around the school. you're not supposed to take everything so seriously you dumb amerifat.

Attached: 1332781951275.jpg (350x162, 24K)

>death note thread
>"it's shit!! "
>"X show is better"

So insecure

>>"it's shit!! "
It is, particularly the second half makes it shit.

>Monster
Too episodic

>Ergo Proxy
Too grimdark and depressing

Perfect ending to the show is watching up to episode 25, and then finishing off with that OVA scene where Light is laughing at L's grave.

You should read it instead. It's more in depth, only 110~ chapters, you can get through it in a day.

So insecure

DeathnoteCHADS don't mind tho, we are used to your kin

Monster is a slow burner for sure, and maybe too far apart with subplots but overall it's a very rewarding experience and I can't think of another anime that matches it in terms of seriousness.

Ergo Proxy is pretty depressing but it's good stuff.

Slice of life shit is for the retards who watch sitcoms. Literally just white noise stuff.

>only mistake was trusting others
his mistake was killing first criminals around his neighborhood city. He was retarded from the beginning.

Because I'm Kino.

Attached: big_1533740101_image.jpg (1280x720, 61K)

>kills fake L in the second episode and exposes himself as japanese

he did a few things wrong

Light lucked out of it due to Rem. If Rem had been uncaring or even if Misa hadn't decided to get involved he was toast. And L pretty much knew he was Kira by that point, all he lacked was evidence presentable to a court.

slice of life doesn't exist besides hidamari sketch, the most boring show i've ever tried to watch. most slice of life is comedy which is infinitely better

Attached: boss.jpg (704x519, 48K)

These were not that serious as far as mistakes go, because they are subject to change. He could have left Japan any time after L called him out and then the clue would be worthless.

>only takes a few hours to perfectly copy a handwritten book which is checked regularly
we need more people like him

Attached: Stephen_Gevanni.png (310x229, 85K)

there are good slice of life and bad slice of life just like everything. it's pretty ignorant to disregard an entire genre, what do you even know about it? probly nothin

How was he supposed to know there was a super detective that existed in the world? He has a magical killing notebook, and L is the only one in the whole world who deduced it was from Japan

>hey dad I know you're a cop working on the kira case and I'm like 17 but I really need to fly out of japan for an indefinite amount of time immediately after L figured out the killer lives in our prefecture

Attached: 1548761743758.jpg (600x587, 36K)

Not him but there is such a thing as suspension of disbelief. For most of its runtime until I dropped it I just felt like I was watching a kid's show, which is saying a lot when other cartoons with literal kid protagonists ended up being leagues ahead in writing muh Made in Abyss.

Then again what do I know, I'm most likely not the target audience because I very rarely watch anime so I naturally view it with the biggest most important piece in mind being the writing and completely ignoring the fact that it is an anime.

>hey dad as the brightest student in Japan I just got a scholarship in Harvard, I'm going there ok?

The show came off as serious. I remember it being about the japanese land being invaded and the population being killed or something, an invasion? britain? britannia?

Dexter

Hannibal

The Sopranos

Luther

The point is not from Light's perspective, but from L's. L knew Kira was in Kanto AT THE TIME OF THE BROADCAST, but had no reason to believe he would still be there in an year or even a month from there. Or even a week after.

he had no reason to believe kira would be somewhere else either

Slice of life is shows about nothing, shallow and unfulfilling experiences overall. They might be enjoyable if you are underage and got nothing better to do, once you reach a certain age it's literally the worst way to waste your time. It's literally shit you have on your second screen while doing something else.

It's okay to have shit taste and it's also okay to be fine with wasting your time on nothing.

The plot might be serious but the tone isn't. That's something about japanese story telling, they change the tone of a story for entertainment value. It seems weird to westerners but if you get used to it it's really not a problem. It actually helps the setting feel real because there are ups and downs in real life.

>Yea Forums cant appreciate kino

Attached: code_geass_pizzahut.jpg (401x280, 19K)

>haha heart attack death XD
>whey you can literally order somebody to do wacky shit deaths even incriminate themselves into being the killer of others or doing other things before they dying
retard at the highest level

poor mans Death Note. Light already did it better with more restrictions and his wasn't a "super power" like some capeshit. he was just clever

suspension of disbelief? what animes do you propose have less disbelief???

he did it on purpose because he wanted people to know they weren't accidents, pay attention
light had a giant god complex

the plural of anime is anime

Attached: 1169886142707.jpg (478x556, 79K)

Ah a wageslave, I expected you to be one of their ilk. I see you know nothing of the art of moe. It's a feeling, unique to japanese culture, that an unenlightened amerishart pleb like you could never understand. Moe slice of life are literally the MOST fulfilling experience. Slice of life depicts real life, and it helps ease the burden of real life. Stupid fictional stories like death note and code geass are about absurd fucking plotlines that make no sense and hold no value. Slice of life on the other hand can actually be educational (I learned many recipes through watching SoL anime). Pearls before swine I guess.

That's too much effort. He still had to keep up his grades and sleep.

wrong. Death Note is as much a superpower as Geass. And arguably has LESS restriction. You need a full name and a face, as opposed to eye contact.

Literally, if not for L being smart, Light would have instantly won. Lelouch actually faces challenge from normal people

The show was too smart for you

Anyone has the manga image of this scene of Matsuda falling down, but in multiple forms? I miss that image and never found it again

Did they ever find that agent's fiance?

thanks

>Ah a wageslave, I expected you to be one of their ilk.
Small business owner.
>unenlightened amerishart pleb
Yuro.
>Slice of life depicts real life
I highly doubt a neet KHV would know anything about real life. But hey pretty cool that a cartoon taught you how to warm up your ramen.

Thanks for playing.

they found her body

savage

Attached: flash.gif (695x392, 2.24M)

But she went somewhere secret and the last thing I remember is L saying she went missing

They did? I only remember them saying she was missing.

Attached: dsod kaiba.png (1920x1029, 1.53M)

>tfw watched all of those
Luther doesn't count though, he's all about losing his cool in pretty much every episode

No. High IQ people just have better shit to do than chase after thots, which requires a tone of energy.

He also knew that if he lusted after a girl like Misa, he'd make her lose interest.

>tone
dumb phoneposters.

Also Reinhard and Yang Wen Li

Attached: images (11)(1).jpg (452x678, 40K)

>doesn't understand anything about what was going on.

The story was over there, Chad Light had won and inceL had died at the hands of his intellectual superior.

He had transcended sexuality and saw women as what they are: Tools to be used and discarded once they are no longer useful

Asexual

this is true
L just assumed for no reason that Kira can't or won't leave Japan
he was right but it makes no sense for him to make that assumption

You just said he made a mistake then said he did nothing wrong, are you mentally handicapped?

Context, autist. He was pure and correct the entire time. It was up to somebody else to fuck it up for him.

Light Yagami is unironically the best manga character ever written. I feel bad for other writers because they simply will never surpass Light.

Attached: fun things.png (1683x1041, 1.05M)

he believed whatever the TV told him, what if he watched the Fox News or CNN (depending on your shitty politic views I couldnt care less) equivalent in Japan?

>Narrowed down list of potential killers to just him within a week
>Did nothing wrong

>L just assumed for no reason that Kira can't or won't leave Japan
Makes sense, they're one of the countries with the poorest English rates around which makes it very difficult for them to move abroad. Plus L knew about the victims who hadn't been made public, which meant that he was looking for someone with a high probability of being a cop or closely related to one, which is a valuable resource Kira would have had to discard if he moved away.

>brilliant

Death Note is the greatest story ever told.
