So was was the point of the 'twist' with his wife? Was that just another nail in his coffin as an insane ill man? Just his fucked up attempt to hold on to his family or what?
I liked how it portrayed him as progressively losing his shit and falling apart, but tthe movie hyped the twist so much that it just fell flat for me.
How did it overhype the twist? Most viewers would have just thought it actually was his wife.
Jayden Gomez
But she exists and was his wife, though. It made it look like she died or something, and that we would learn how she died/why she left him. But then we just learn he doesn't remember why his family left because he's a drugged up insane wreck, and that he crosdresses as her?
Since the movie is from his POV it makes sense that some subplots are left unfinished as his mind must've been a shit show, but still
James Young
Bump ffs

>gets cucked by a nigger >his daughter will probably grow up to get blacked Most heartbreaking part of the film, desu.
It got talked about a lot on here a long time ago, but baneposting was shitting up the entire board so yea.
Gabriel Green
This film was dreadful.
It's too comical and silly to be a serious character study, and not funny enough to be a comedy. James McAvoy does his best, but seems as confused as to what the tone of the film should be as everyone else was. It's too difficult to buy a cop as hoovering more drugs than Pablo Escobar and never ever being suspected or reported. The most generous thing I can say about it is that the actors are clearly in focus in most shots, and that the audio syncs up with the video very well.
I'm dumbfounded this thread hasnt taken up, it's 4chin in a movie reel
Gabriel Morris
Great film, boyle wouldmake it bezter
Joshua Gray
>when Sandstorm hits
Christian Butler
It's supposed to be "dreadful", it's a black comedy, by the guy who wrote Trainspotting.
It's one of those movies that if i recommend and they don't get it, I know we won't get along.
Brandon Edwards
The book goes into it a little more, he's just a sociopath and she leaves because of it - the point isn't why she left, it's how he's unable to process it and pushes him over the edge.
Isaac Walker
>It made it look like she died or something, and that we would learn how she died/why she left him That's why the twist works, dumbass
