I quit showing my friends Kino because they never appreciate it. I recently watched “The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover”, and I keep trying to get my friends to watch it because I really want an IRL person to talk about it with. They just go “yeah user, I’ll watch it, but you totally need to watch [insert absolute normie garbage], shits fucking crazy!” Then I watch their shit movies, and they never watch the ones I ask them too. This one girl I’m friends with recommended me a “horror” movie that “gave her nightmares for weeks!” About 10 minutes in it had Justin Long come on screen, and I turned it off. I read the synopsis and pretended I liked it because if there’s a one in a hundred chance of banging her one day I’d like to keep that possibility open.

The films I watch do not have "cool bits" but they do have powerful moments that are lost on almost everyone I introduce and watch the film with. I'm sure it's an atmosphere issue, I feel like films should be enjoyed in private and not be a social gathering thing.

There are some films I enjoy more alone than with others, but I always need to watch the latest Madea with at least one other person.

this happened to me a few times and I got so fucking sick of it that I ordered one of those cellphone jammers from China and turn it on when I have people over to watch a movie, and I live far enough away from a major road or neighbors so it can't interfere with ambulances or be detected by the FCC or anything. I just tell people that my house has always had terrible cell reception and they're so dumb that they believe it even though they were here browsing facebook on their phone the last time we watched a movie
