Marty's lawn
he was shooting at you, you fucking faggot
The real question is how did the cops show up at Childress's house if Marty couldn't get a phone to call for help?
god
He was framing the crime scene as they illegitimately killed Ledoux.
Shooting at this idiot
He was mowing Marty’s lawn from a distance
Putting his prints on a firearm so forensics can have a field day.

Didn't they find a landline in there? I can't remember that well
Picked it up in case there were other baddies around

No he wasn'tAnd there are a few plot holes
Guns suck for prints and no one was going to be looking that hard and stuff. Hell, I'd even cover my base as Rust with:
>After Detective Hart took out Ledoux, I worked my way up there to his position, out of ammo I grabbed the AK in order to defend myself when Dewall ran out onto one of their own mines.
No, I remember that Marty finds a landline but it's dead and he throws the phone or something. Been a while but I distinctly remember him handling a phone and throwing it inside.
As far as I know we never see him make a call, and he gets incapacitated along with Rust and then the cops show up later.

He calls the younger black cop with the address when they arrive or something as I recall.
Oh yeah, I remember that now. He called them BEFORE they got to the house and to come running in if they didn't hear back within a time or something like that.
Hell, they might have even had some guys on their way as soon as he called, if they still liked Rust for the killer.

father time (the priest they question)
He says to that fat girl at gunpoint that he doesn't believe they don't have a phone because everybody has a phone, and that was the last we hear of the phones. It never shows if they actually did have one or not, but I guess we have to assume they did since the police showed up eventually.
