One of my favorite movies of all time. Completely over the top in every aspect, absolutely hammy while completely owning itself, and just a great fun movie. The entire last race is absolutely terrific, bringing moments from the whole movie together in a cohesive and magical way. Even managed to do discord and drama well, which is a surprise coming from such campy material and such a rich visual scope.

I really did not like it the first time I watched it. A friend dragged me to see it again and I ended up enjoying it.
If you can get into the cartoony nature of the film then it is a blast. Now I love the movie and am surprised I ever did not like it.
I will say though I was never a Speed Racer fan as a kid. Nothing against it, just never watched much of it.

The CGI itself was Spy Kids-tier for most of the movie, but the actual visual style was great. In the end the thing that sold me on the film was the kino ending of the final race.
