I've unlimited pass in my cinema so it's literally freeand unlimited for me but the langage is not english (live in europe) so I've to pirate it sadly.
Just watched at my local imax theatre. Shit is tight!
Samuel Ross
There's actually a fun panel in the manga where Ido wants to check if her body shits correctly.
Parker Peterson
I was going to see this on the big screen with my kid brother but that little faggot backpedalled and said he didn't wanna go after my mom shit talked the movie saying it looked lame. I guess I'll torrent it and watch it at home.
William Reyes
What should I focus on? Alita is best movie in years!
No, it's not. It's worth paying for a ticket, though. _____;^)_____
Caleb Parker
guess I'll watch it on the big screen on my own like with BR2049. Can't wait to be the only adult alone in the theatre!

I hate to disagree with you but it is good as far as a modern sci-fi flick goes. Its only detriment is the actor who played Hugo. Sadly he is a major element to Alita's character development. I honestly don't know who was in charge of the casting, but they should be fired. It is true, quite literally his segments were Twilight tier when he was the focus. The supporting alley cat street urchins were no better to lift his performance as Alita could.
Expended in the form of heat and warmth. What, you thought artificial polymer nanomachines heated themselves? lol
David Rodriguez
Hugo was just a shit character in general, lame love interest. I need a sequel so they can focus on the real chad love interest that comes in later in the manga
I caught one of the last Imax showings in my area today, makes it my third trip. Little detail I picked up, Jashugan somehow gets chumped by a random motorballer during that match Alita and Hugo go to. I think it might be an early symptom/foreshadowing his failing health for the sequel.
You can't stop the power of love, user. Well I mean, you probably can, but it would require a lot more power.
Brody Miller
>>> You hated him because you tried to use him as a self-insert character, which he wasn't.
Joshua Gonzalez
I live in the french countryside, for some movies there is no original version here, it happens, no 3D either
at least I pay $9 per month for unlimited movies, can literally go every day.
Logan Gonzalez
>Hugo was grounded heh
James Reed
Yeah it sucked. No capes whatsoever wtf
Hudson Clark
>vageta battle nigger yea no thanks i'll pass
Tyler Flores
I don't frequent these threads often enough, but will discuss, and shill it for free because of faggots like you. Also, I want more sci-fi flicks especially if they are weeb. Get fucked.
Ethan Clark
Imagine being this obsessed with a movie. ffs it's not 1998
Kevin Foster
I do it for free
Jayden Gray
he was just a shitty kid and lucked out on Alita being fresh, alita grows far beyond him anyways.
i didn't hate him, i found the romantic angle between them very cringe and didn't give a shit about what he was doing. Nobody reads the whole series and gives a shit about hugo
Charles Richardson
Funny, that's when James Cameron bought the rights to Alita.
Christopher Hughes
Unless you live in Creuse or Corrèze I'm pretty sure there's a theatre providing sessions in Original Version near your farm.
Cameron Wood
Woah fuck me, I've been here too long.
Aaron Nelson

Right, but Hugo was a plot driving force for Alita. Ignoring him is ignoring Alita's development. Just because you lack empathy does not mean the general moving going audience does.
Cooper Allen
This isn't Huey Lewis and the News
Hudson Sanders
It's not about Hugo as a character, it's about how his love gives meaning to Alita's life and how the massive pain from his death changes Alita forever. In this regard, the Hugo in the movie is even too attached to Alita in comparison to the Hugo in the manga. The latter was a selfish idiot who would only realize at the very end how lucky he was to have her, thus adding disappointment to the loss.
I'm also mad that they didn't make the punch in the wall scene, that was a great way to show how Alita was obsessed with him while remarking her physical superiority.
Nothing special (except for the motorball scene) but it's always better to watch a movie in VO (watch Black Panther in VO to have a good laugh).
Jayden Collins
Who's that supposed to be ? That's not Nova's haircut.
Jayden Ward
Best order >1st view >download the manga >2nd view >download the anime >3rd view >watch the anime >4th view >keep watching until it's off the cinemas or you run out of money >read the manga >buy 2 blu rays (one collectables, one for viewing) >start saving money and get your life in order to watch the sequel many times
Matthew James
You forgot >start eating right >exercise >meditate >make money with the intent of getting rich >pray you live long enough for the age of fembots >buy your own Alita
Colton Walker
Chink article in wikipedia relates 諾瓦 to Nova, so guess is him.
Mason Hall
If Alita inspires you to get your life in order then it's truly a magical film
Logan Murphy
WRONG! I LIFT for Alita, I develop my abs for alita, I make sure to eat more to not become too skinny again.. for ALITA. But what do you do other than try to insult this movie in its own general goober
Anyone else feel like the acting and dialogue were really wonky? The action was great and the plot was alright, but the thing felt like an amateur manga translator wrote the script.
Hudson Stewart
>sitting in the kinoplex waiting for it to start >chose a seat as far away from other people as possible >get extremely anxious whenever new people enter the theatre cause they might sit near me Anyone know this feel?
David Harris
I feel like its personal preference, what background do you say that from, like what films have dialogue you particularly enjoyed?
Xavier Nelson
so i posted in the previous thread that i had just seen alita and didn't know how to feel about it but now i just feel a strong desire to go see it again. i keep watching the trailers and other related stuff on youtube
There's nobody in the theater. He could do a nice cam rip there.
Robert Collins
I'm a pleb who doesn't really watch movies much, so I don't really have any examples. But I do enjoy manga, especially jojo so I know when a translation is pretty bad. And the dialogue felt like it at times. Characters would be talking about one thing, then suddenly Alita would make some choice that had little to do with what they were talking about. Considering that the movie is based off of a manga, I choose to believe that it's intentional and go with that, because I don't really have any criticisms against it.
Justin White
don't worry i'm not going to watch it anyway. I just enjoy the freakshow here
>Anyone know this feel? No, since I hardly talk to anyone or have friends I like to sit next to stangers in cinema or the bus Especially on the bus I like when they start talking to me, it's a chance to socialize although they usually get off after a few stops
Gavin Harris
>To the town of Scrap Iron City rode a stranger one fine day

I've definitely eaten a lot less since I saw the film. Hell, I've started eating more fruit. I can't help it.
Sebastian King
>no one sitting immediately behind me >not sitting in the back row
>Hardly spoke to folks around him >Didn't have too much to say
Lincoln Robinson
Just got back from my second viewing. I was one of two people in the theater for the 430 show. It was still enjoyable but a lot more of the movie's flaws became apparent to me. Alita is great though, and I really hope we get to see more of her.
I noticed that during the scene near the end in Vector's office, after Alita uses the sword, you see the little plasma jets on her upper arm flaring. It makes me think that maybe they are some kind of energy wastegate for the sword. The blue flame on her finger is maybe what ignites the sword? Any mangafags that can explain what these are for? Ido suggests they may be a weapon of some sort but I think they are for the sword.
The burrito definitely disappears.
Parker Morgan
In my opinion, a tad too big. I like the slightly smaller mouth and slightly smaller nose.
Evan Wilson
No. I autistically always pick the seat in the very middle of the theater, even if I have to sit next to strangers.
>The burrito definitely disappears. no I saw it under the centurion and next to the pupper during my fourth viewing
Wyatt King
I just saw this and its been a few hours and I can't let it go its the best movie I've seen in years. The fight scenes were just amazing and there were so so so many and everything was so cool and pretty it was just something else
Jaxon Ramirez
At first yes, but it's just that we're not used to different character writing. For example when she says "let's unite to fight against evil" it's cringy as fuck, but it's exactly what it's supposed to be. She's naive and stubborn all along the movie on purpose, because she's just a child brain in a war machine.
Andrew Morris
I thought the burrito gets stomped by the centurion and that's why we don't see it anymore
Jason Cox
The film mouth looks about the right size in comparison to the manga. Rosa's lips were just a tiny little sliver big.
Charles Edwards
Based, that's what I do too, sometimes this way you can bump knees with the girl next to you when she gets up to go the bathroom or she asks you to put your water bottle at the other side so she can place her on the side between you
Aiden Gray
Is this real?
Elijah Peterson
No way man, it was gone. I was ready for it this time.
Wouldn't it get squashed on the ground then?
Nicholas Collins
>Work in repair shop >Just was able to start a little Kawasaki that I'd been working on as a pet project in slow periods >Laid-off employee with a grudge comes in and kicks over a trashcan >"I got a new recip saw! Wanna see?" >Before anyone manages to respond, he takes it to the Kawasaki and cuts a whole in the oil tank >Feel sad >Kneel down >Dip my finger in some of the motor oil >I remember >"I do not stand by in the presence of an oil spill!" >He jumps into the garage pit >I follow >"WELCOME TO MY WORLD"
Just got home from finally seeing it. Drove 50 miles roundtrip to the nearest IMAX but I felt like the seats were a gyp considering they apparently have nice recliners in the other auditoriums, and they have that Dolby Cinema thing with the big armchairs but I really felt like this was meant for large format viewing. Anyway, movie was fucking kino. Much better than I thought it would be, and I was blown away by how seamless the CG and real photography looked. Never once did a scene feel like a video game cutscene partially I think because of how good Salazar is as Alita. Some of the dialogue is cringe, and there was an obvious 40 year old fa/tv/irgin in the dead center seat I had wanted (you might be able to see the top of his head in the bottom right), but overall it was a great experience. Only gripe was that the pacing in the beginning felt a bit fast, but it got into a groove after the first Motorball scene.
Oh I gotchu you, I never read the manga myself so no idea for the translation. The film is doing really well in china though, maybe their version would sound more fitting if you speak the language. At some point it ends up being a translation of an adaptation of a translation
Anthony Watson
Do we still use spoiler tags or everyone has watched her movie?
James Rodriguez
>Ido suggests they may be a weapon of some sort but I think they are for the sword. In the manga she basically has a plasma cutter in her fingers. I think the Berserker pulls air in through those vents on her arm and propels it through her arm/fingers and ignites it.
>Work in repair shop >Just was able to start a little Kawasaki that I'd been working on as a pet project in slow periods >Laid-off employee with a grudge comes in and kicks over a trashcan >"I got a new recip saw! >there was an obvious 40 year old fa/tv/irgin Why did you have to say this? Can't I enjoy Alita 5 times until now despite being a 40 year old (not fat though) virgin?
Angel Green
Does anybody else want to listen to a full movie analysis on themes and archetypes by Jordan Peterson? Discounting any political stuff, it's extremely /comfy/ listening to him talk about his actual area of expertise, that is psychology and its relationship to human mythos. I really want to listen to his take on the movie, since this movie absolutely did have a lot of layering of motifs, themes and symbolism.
Christian Garcia
>No way man, it was gone. I was ready for it this time. Nah I watched carefully and it's just off screen due to camera angles, like many objects in this scene. You have been trolled (or you're a troll yourself).
Asher King
I think Rosa's actual lips would have been more appropriate for the character but they made her nose smaller for Alita so I think it would have looked unnatural.
The fancy chairs weren't in the IMAX unfortunately, that was my main gripe. I may see it a second time in the apparently luxe Dolby Theater since it's also a few bucks cheaper but it was so cool in IMAX it might not be the same.
Yup, finally. I was going to go last Friday to a matinee but got sick. And yesterday was discounted tickets for AMC members so the showings had too many groups in them for my liking. This one was unbooked until an hour beforehand, so it was just me, the other Yea Forums guy and that soiboy in front of me.
I just thought it was funny how few fucks this guy gave. He had long thinning hair, wore a t-shirt tucked into his blue jeans and autism shoes and when we left the theater it looked like he was making a beeline to Coldstone.
Brayden Price
kek good job

No, it's PewDiePie, when or if he mentions Alita, then they will get the reference

Too long and too much exposition. It's still the second-best adaption we've ever gotten.
Grayson Morgan
First, I didn't know it was an anime adaptation (wtf the source looks like lol ?). Second, this movie was bland. End of discussion ?
Leo Butler
She's an URM Berserker, URM was the enemy before the fall
There isn't a post-credits scene or anything is there? I didn't stay past the cast roll.
Cameron White
No, it ends with the credits.
Andrew Barnes

To be honest the distrust is understandable. Nobody could know if she had a command to kill all Earth inhabitants or something of this sort hidden in her memories

That's what I figured since everyone else got out of the theater immediately but nowadays you can't be too sure.
Samuel Wilson
>implying salem were the good guys and the friends of the citizens of iron city
Jacob Adams
Just came back from the theater, 1st viewing. All I gotta say is WOW!! What a great movie! I was never bored, not even for a second. I didnt want the movie to end. This is the best movie I've seen in a while and I have no idea why it sits at 59% on RT, what the FUCK??? Even though they tried to fit so much stuff in 2h or whatever the movie's lenght is, it's not their fault they werent given a green light for a trilogy or 2 movies
I will see this movie in theaters a 2nd time, 100% sure. Last time I did this was LOTR and Avatar. Gally/Alita is absolutely adorable
No guns are allowed in iron city. That was punishable by death. I don't think they said anything about weapons in general.
Charles Miller
Yeah, marvel gimmicks have ruined cinema desu The end credits song of Alita was dope though
Easton Murphy
Critics have a vendetta against it because it doesn't align with their narrative and don't want it to compete with Captain Marvel. Audiences though fucking love it. Glad you loved it!
Wyatt Fisher
I used to like post-credits scenes before Marvel made them a meme, like in the original Iron Man. They were just cool easter eggs that you didn't NEED to see and it was fun to find out about them on the DVD or by looking it up on forums. Nowadays every soiboi and his roastie just sits there talking over the whole credits waiting.
Luis Young
Yeah, projectile weapons to be precise You can't wage war against salem without projectile weapons only centurions had guns Also I liked the detail of Vector killing Kanuba with a blow torch since not even Vector is allowed to own a gun
Brandon Flores
Yes, it both uses and subverts so many archetypal themes.
And the Pinocchio theme, "Don't interrupt children when they're skateboarding." and "Pet a dog when you encounter one on the street." is prime Peterson memes.
Ethan Thompson
If Elon made a tweet saying "GO WATCH ALITA NOW!", there would be an extra 1M butts in seats.
Mason Howard
Hey are you me ? I watched it yesterday and I wrote pretty much the same comment. Fuck critics, it was a visual kick in the ass and Salazar did a fucking great performance.
Jose Richardson
That clip is not in theaters.
Nolan Ortiz
It's worth watching in Imax 3D. If you want to watch it in your lame tv or worse, computer, go ahead cunt.
Cameron Martinez
>Also I liked the detail of Vector killing Kanuba with a blow torch since not even Vector is allowed to own a gun Ahhh ok. I wondered why he went full sadistic for no reason.
Easton Gonzalez
I'm surprised I havent seen any screen shots of Alita's leather clad booty when she gets lassoed by the screwhead bitch and pulled backwards on her belly.
Caleb Foster
Our only hope is PewDiePie because he was once a weeb and he commands a huge army
Henry Watson
I did wonder why that one guy in the motorball fight had an arm cannon that looked like a jet engine though. No way was that thing legal.
Alita is the embodiment of the Hero archetype. I'd recommend reading through Joseph Campbell's works; Carl Jung as well, though his works are harder to understand.
Murderball should get regulated desu, somebody is going to hurt eventually
Joseph Murphy
>they werent given a green light for a trilogy or 2 movies oh SHIT this isn't confirmed yet it is? It can't be true so soon
Adrian Foster
>the city banned all guns >dude put a hidden revolver in his arms
The doggo were all just a red herrings for his guns
Luis Murphy
Saw it fucking premium theater too with electric reclinable leather seat and "table service" with alcohol n shit. The only thing I regret is not smoking weed in the parking lot. Not trying to sound edgy or cool here, I legit regret it
In the manga, it mentions that all motorball weapons must be mounted cybernetically to the motorballer, so I assume this rule applies to elsewhere and guns are exempt if mounted cybernetically?
Just saw this review by New York Post - Johnny Oleksinski >1 star >At the start of “Alita: Battle Angel,” a scientist fishes a robot head out of a trash heap, slaps on a body and treats it like a daughter. By the end of this derivative, heartless mess, you’ll conclude that a garbage dump is exactly where writer-producer James Cameron’s new project belongs.
What the FUCK why would ANYONE trust the "criticism" of someone like this
Critics like this literally go into the movie with the mindset of not wanting to enjoy it, they've made up their mind about the film before having even watched it and just nitpick the imperfections while ignoring everything the movie does right
Ian Hall
I’m going to have to go see it alone bros, any snack recommendations?
Nah, and the credits were super fast. Literally the length of the time of the Dua Lipa song, whereas any other big budget blockbuster will go on for like 15 minutes.
Maybe we should start the Racism Card. It's racist not to like someone from a POC like Kishiro and Rodriguez. But Asians literally don't count for SJW social justice points, it's blacks, followed by other racists in skin tone value.
Camden Wood
Where do you live user? Antarctica?
Liam Powell
>guns are exempt if mounted cybernetically? Guy in pic would be a god in scrap city.
Having said that I just checked one of two cinemas here and they are apparently showing A:BA for 6 days only starting from the 1st March
So...
Benjamin Martinez
it's absolutely outrageous. You have an actual STRONG FEMALE CHARACTER who acts on her own accord and makes decisions for herself, but they can't let her succeed because it goes against their Captain Marvel (First female super hero ever btw) narrative.
Watching it a second time, Alita only acts born sexy yesterday like she's in a new culture, not literally born retarded like Lelu. You see her flirting with Hugo because she's falling for him like teenage girls do with cute guys.
Me too, when I saw that on screen I immediately got the urge to fap.
Cameron Turner
>You see her flirting with Hugo because she's falling for him like teenage girls do with cute guys. girls aren't allowed to like guys in movies now, they all have to be shaved head dykes
Evan Jenkins
He looks like the fucking avocado guy, you know the pic
god you fags must be the same fags that shilled and ooh'd and ahh'd and cooed and shit over avatar when it came out It's like long eradicated disease came back

Dylan Scott
avatar sucks dick, alita owns
Charles White
Avatar was cool as fuck, get out you beige-wearing square
Anyone know a way you can guarantee a theater will give out physical tickets? My theater is all reserve seating so obviously I want to buy the ticket online but the last time I did that they just emailed me a QR code instead of letting me pick up at a kiosk like I used to. I need a ticket stub.
Aiden Ross
Oh fuck it actually happened. Poor guy
Tyler Morris
>way out Yeah I take this one. Life must be suffering for you guys, need a nuke ?
Dylan Turner
>just watched it >it was shit Fuck you guys
Chase Allen
shill-accusers are clearly being paid. Who would be this persistent?
Well fuck me then, I guess you'd get a physical ticket if you reserved at the box office at AMC/Regal? >only Cinemark around me is a Tinseltown USA that's stuck in 1997
Xavier Richardson
>you can't like bad films Wew lad
Lincoln Torres
what the fuck bros, why is her smile so fucking intoxicating. I can't stop loving it.
Isaiah Sullivan
Regal gives you a ticket if you buy seats right there at the box office. Reserving them ahead of time, they just scan your QR code.
I thought the same. On that note, what exactly are the rules of motorball? They never really give a description of it other than control the ball and score it while going in laps.
Josiah Brooks
Cameron has made anime real. He found the balance that worked.
Austin Roberts
Here we've been getting the tissue paper tickets since Regal took over. I still save them though. Maybe I could laminate them to preserve
Connor Long
It goes the other way around for me. I was expecting shit and be weirded out by the eyes but I ended pleasantly surprised.
I'm disappointed though since I went there expecting a bad movie; if I know it was enjoyable I would watch my first viewing on IMAX
Oliver Wright
Wow, what an asshole
Lincoln Thomas
Yeah but you can go by their cust service and they've always given me a stub when I ask for it (gotta show reciept or smth on your phone of course).

Yeah but you can still get advance tickets at the box office, no? You'd only get a QR code if you reserved online, which is what I did thinking I would be able to walk up to a kiosk and get the ticket like they let you do at Muvico.
Colton Cruz
We are better than that. Alita deserves better.
Justin Garcia
>heartless kys
Brayden Russell
everyone talks about her smile or her eyes but can we mention her hair? That is some top tier cgi, it looked amazing
I mean the stubs that do print are basically like on receipt paper for their thickness. They're not the robust card stock like the olden days.
Jackson Watson
Okay, a coworker went to see Alita the other day, so we discussed our thoughts on the movie. Didn't get too far because he got stuck on Zapan killing Hugo's black friend. He thought there wasn't enough invested in the character to make his death meaningful to the audience and there was no resolution to his antagonism with Alita. I thought the character and his death was there in service to Hugo's character, so things like his motivations and creating sympathy weren't so important to his role in the story.
Woah, really? I have to remember that, increasing digital utility is hell for an autist that loves collecting things.
Thomas Butler
Lets say its like capture the flag on a loop. The racers have to complete one full lap with possession before attempting to score. Multiple goals around the track in interesting spots.
Joshua Clark
why does grewishka look like trump
Carson Morgan
For those that play Source engine games or any that support this file format, here are some Alita sprays for you to use in-game. Yeah yeah, fuck off to Yea Forums but here if you want them.
She healed me in a 200+ seat IMAX theater where I was completely alone, front and center. The 3D was good, but I think just a normal 8K or 70mm print would have been fine as well because those glasses annoy me.
Adam Williams
Yeah his death isn't very meaningful to the audience, but it adds a bit to Hugo's character (and subverts a trope).
James Thomas
I think what user means is that it's not immediately made for a franchise.
Easton Bell
You need to read Kabbalah to appreciate the symbolism of the raising of the Shekinah more fully. Robert Graves also.
Jaxon Butler
Is that the nickname for "adolescent" in your hellhole ? If you can't handle feminity is that way.
Someone needs to make an app that works with all the chain theaters and major ticketing services to work as a sort of wallet for your tickets and saves digital "stubs" for you to collect. Have it tied to an account and it would be kino.
Mason Harris
>Has XboX Hueg beautiful eyes >Still puts a little makeup on to look good for her bf

NEW THREAD:
Daniel Peterson
I think the scene pulled off both the zapan investment and hugu character service at the same time. It also showed that hugo and the black guy were still true bros, even though they were full out fighting the second before that.
Robert Nguyen
That's actually a really cool idea.
William Rodriguez
>On that note, what exactly are the rules of motorball? Someone posted them in an previous thread, I should have save the pic.
Michael Williams
I think the director couldn't dwells to much on Hugo's friend death since it'll lessen the impact of Hugo own death soon after. Even more the hype-up motorball race was about to start so the film audience tension/emotion was very precarious at that point.
Sebastian Ortiz
>the preponderance of clips from a shitty camrip spammed here I've basically seen the movie already, also you retards spoiled several parts of the plot. Based and retardpilled posters saved me from having to go to the local chinese slave-labor powered butter fountain (with theater side attraction)
Jacob Murphy
Thank you for the share user, the do it for her one looks pretty good ingame I might give it a whirl
Nolan Long
I imagine it'd be hard to pull all the strings to get it together but it might be popular with the theater companies if they can save money by ditching real tickets, which is inevitable at this point.
Evan Hall
I'm gonna spray the bottom one on every blind corners
Zachary Kelly
>no resolution to his antagonism with Alita there didn't need to be, Alita was clearly not that bothered by him. He barely registered to her at all. He was there to push Hugo further away from that line of work because he sees Alita as more than parts. If anything, they should've (or maybe will) expand on her acquaintanceship with the only girl who was friendly and accepting of her.
