How will they squeeze out 4 more films of humans vs Navi?
4 more Avatar films, what is Cameron's endgame here?
He wants to tell a story and nothing will stop him.
he's fed up of comic book superhero flicks. it's time to show capeshitters where they belong
He's delusional. People loved Avatar because it was visually stunning at the time. Not for the story.
They will flop
naavi fly to earth and give a speech at the humanity's governing body about the dangers of toxic masculinity
>make 4 films at once at regular big-budget metric
>all the sequels released seperately
>the grosses add up and end up making more than a regular film would
yeah it'll flop alright
The story and the visual effects work hand in hand. No matter how good effects are it can still be shit with a shitty story. See Jupiter Ascending or Gods of Egypt which were also lauded as big spectacular movies with amazing special effects which just ended up bombing because the story was too shit to carry it.
Avatar on the other hand played with themes and classic narratives we are familiar with but we also like, with a modern twist that appeals to disabled, minorities, transhumans, environmentalists, climate scientists, and all sorts of other folks who want their views to be represented as well.
James Cameron is a smart man and he managed to make the story appeal to everybody, and that’s a major part of the reason for its success.
Keep denying it all you want but in the end you will simply continue to be left wondering why James Cameron’s movies succeed so well while your capeshit movies just can’t seem to cut in in comparison.
>spent 10 years of his life to shit out Avatar
>another 10-12 years pass before second Avatar comes out
>by the time he's done he'll have spent the majority of his career on this
Jim is operating entirely on sunk cost fallacy
It’s his passion project. He made money in the past so he could pump it into this one story. He practically doesn’t even care about how much they make, that’s more of a bonus. He basically only cared about the Avatar franchise and his ocean cleanup/environmental initiatives.
I guess he’s also getting into prosthetics with Alita now as well.
his endgame is more cutetiri
Yes, good for him for doing what he loves. But I just like movies and don't care about his other projects, and I wish the second half of his career looked more like pic related than decades of nothing followed by bursts of cgi.
He went to the core of the earth and back to tell his story. We need to listen.
I like his Avatar movies because they capture so many of Cameron’s works in one. It has the mechaporn and soldiering of Aliens and Terminators, it has the colour and wonderousness of The Abyss, and it has the emotionality of Titanic. Cameron likes to vary his movies as well so each sequel will be like a highlight of his best qualities.
I think the first Avatar represents what he learned from Titanic. From interviews he has mentioned Avatar 2 will be utilizing underwater tech from The Abyss, so this one looks to be like his swan song for that. Who knows what Avatar 3 and 4 will hold (killer Avatar assassins trying to kill the resistance leader Jake Sully maybe?)
>what is Cameron's endgame here?
To destroy capeshit
That needs updated so the "CAPESHIT POWER SOURCE" says Disney
You’ll be lucky if 3 gets released after 2 flops so hard. At best, get used to the phrase “Avatar 3: A Netflix Original.”
Post the other ones
>keep announcing new films
>never make them
This HAS to be some sort of investor fraud. I mean, fuck, pretty much the entire MCU has gone by since the first Avatar film and still no fucking sequel. I don't care what you think about capeshit or cinematic universes, the MCU was still a complicated endeavor that involved a huge amount of money, actors, scripts, CGI departments, etc; and Disney still manages to pump out 2-3 of them per year. It's been ten fucking years since Avatar 1, a full decade. What the fuck has Cameron been doing?
But the MCU was shit. Every single film has been shit. James Cameron actually tries to make good movies.
Alitafags realistically think Cameron has time to co-write and produce an Alita sequel.
Fucking sad little retards.
Avatar 2 is going to make Aquaman look like James Wan was filming himself playing with legos in his bathtub
And just what exactly is going to be so 'good' about Avatar 2 that it required ten years to make? The CGI? With the amount of time it's taken, they will have had to start over completely several times due to technological advancement and keeping up with what everyone else is doing. The script? That's a horrible sign, it means nobody has any idea what the next film should be about. Actors? It's a sequel, most of the cast should be returning from the first one.
The movie isn't out yet genius. All we know is that he's done this multiple times before and we trust him as a filmmaker, you MCU loving drooling retard.
>no argument
he was developing new technology to make avatar 2 possible to make. It's cutting edge
My argument is that the MCU is shit. And that Cameron has historically made better and more successful movies (Fact). Try giving me something worth arguing about you bottom feeder.
>And just what exactly is going to be so 'good' about Avatar 2 that it required ten years to make?
Cameron wrote all the Stories for the 4 sequels at once, and didn't stop revising them until he got it perfect.
