Unironically bait. And you should be thankful to Dorff for saving the season
>tfw becoming Roland
I hope you really are becoming that based
how many grinders of whiskey you go through a day
muh exposition one eyed black man!
I was surprised they made that miscalculation in the barn with the last guy. He really called their bluff good.
I'm conflicted, Roland and Hays were fucking based, and I get what they were trying to do
>huge build up
>"it's a massive conspiracy!"
>Hays's entire life dedicated to this one case
>in reality the case was just a crazy lady who kidnapped the girl, no greater conspiracy, boy wasn't even killed on purpose
this season was more about the characters than the plot, but still didn't feel like it matched up to Season 1, which had everything. Still liked it though
>Roland drinks and smokes all day every day
>lives past 55
Cool story bro
goddamn did this show make me want to smoke and drink. fuck
that ending was frustrating, you think the son will figure it out?
Good acting from Ali and Dorff, everything else sucked.
Nah, but it was still really good.
I'm the kind of autist who has enjoyed all three seasons so far.
Both 2 and 3 was dogshit compared to 1
I wonder if Pizzalota put on that ending to "disavow" and dismiss anything related to pizzagate and pedo mafias, if it was a "suggestion" or out of his own will. All the seasons dealt with this stuff, and this season in particular doubled down on the pedo conspiracy even specifically calling out symbols of pedophile culture, only to then reveal it was merely the work of a kindly black butler helping a mentally ill bitch get a surrogate daughter. I don't mind that it was a mundane finale but the shift of attitude towards the theme was very jarring.
I don't agree but Roland is the best character in the series
how was it good you retard?
so you're turning into a closet homo?
his wife was so bad. one of the worst actresses i've seen in a while
Both of them did such an incredible job, and I absolutely loved every episode except the last one. I'm not sure why, but I found the finale so insulting. From le exposition man to the many tacky shots drawing the connection between the young detectives and the old ones (that mirror shot in the Hoyt house almost made me gag), it left me with the same feeling as Season 1. That feeling being: this would have been my favorite show ever if the ending weren't so fucking stupid.
For a minute there I thought he was involved in the cover up somehow. When was talking about just filing Hays's findings about it likely being something bigger.
it's hard to end this stuff because the truth is it would never really end. you think the son tracked down the girl?
I think that's exactly my point, it would never really end. But the show packages it up so cleanly that it just feels dumb. If I'm supposed to be left unsatisfied because Wayne loses his memory right at the climax of his life's work, it just missed. The fact that the book falls on the page talking about the boy who married her was the death knell for me. This show ends a dark and compelling mystery with a perfectly packaged fairy tale ending.
So I guess to answer your question, I don't care if Henry finds her. She can live happily ever after for all I care. There's nothing interesting about her any more, we were quite literally told everything that happened to her.
shitty ending but s3 had the best scene
for me the perfect way to end it would be
>Hays goes to Greenland
>Parks his car
>Sees Julie and her daughterfu in their garden
>Hays smiles, cries, or whatever the most impactful reaction to it
>Drives back to his family and Roland
There. No need for open ending and shit.
my memory is so bad already at 30, the alzheimers was the scariest part of the whole fucking show. i don't have a family to come get me if i get lost.
Not better than season 1, but still a hell of a lot better than Yea Forums gives it credit for. I bet if season 1 didn't exist and this was the first season, Yea Forums would love it.
she recognized him. i didn't think it was that open ended. the son is going to show roland the address
if it wasn't for season 1, nobody would have watch this because of the blacks
god i wish i was half as good looking, charismatic, and charming as Roland
he never left the jungle. the whole narrative was in his head. it was a fever dream
I'm pretty sure that wasn't Julie tho.
my memory is so bad already at 30, the alzheimers was the scariest part of the whole fucking show. i don't have a family to come get me if i get lost.
yeah it was legit the most terrifying horror in a while. realism is so much stronger than surreal fantasy stuff
Only love in movies/tv that make me tear up is homie love (no homo)
How is the tragedy of this character so lost on you guys?
don't buy into the romanticism of giving yourself to the addiction, but both are great in moderation
agree
it's not. it's just that my life is so much worse than his that living his life would be a huge improvement
It was pretty mediocre overall, especially the conclusion, albeit with some decent moments here and there. Dorff fucking killed it though. Worth watching for him alone and this scene.
