How many star wars movies are actually good?
How many star wars movies are actually good?
4
They were always shit, but the original trilogy had charm and the prequels were interesting.
Five:
Episodes 1,3,4,5,6
1
Ignoring Disney's garbage the only one I don't really like is Episode I. Its just so boring and pointless in the grand scheme of things. You don't lose much of anything by cutting that entire movie out of the saga.
4,5 are very good
6 is good
7 is watchable
3,1 atleast have their moments but are bad overall
8 is utter shit
2 is even worse
all 6 of them are excellent
disney star wars movies don't exist
I've never seen prequels.
4,5 are good
6 is shit
7 is watchable
8 is shit.
6
3 are good:
Phantom Menace
A New Hope
Holiday Special
3 are alright:
The Empire Strikes Back
Attack of the Clones
Revenge of the Sith
All others are shit.
2
>7 better than 6
Yikes
4 and 5 are both great. 6 is alright. 3 is almost okay and great for memes.
In my view, basically all of them. Attack of the Clones is the weakest. Its very boring and aside from some of the action sequences, particularly at the end, there is little redeeming quality to it. Episode 8 was also pretty weak, it was the first Star Wars movie I've ever sen I genuinely didn't;t like. But I can't see it's totally bad.
Now, according to some of Star Wars more autistic fans the whole thing is apparently trash, and they only think Empire Strikes Back is good. Other think think A New Hope is ok. I don't understand the mentality of Star Wars "fans" who basically hate all the Star Wars movies except for episodes 4 and 5.
Three movies.
Star Wars.
Empire Strikes Back.
Return of the Jedi.
That is all.
the first 6
Patrician coming through:
IV is okay
V is a literal masterpiece of filmkunst (the rest might be debatable but everybody denying that V is the best is either lying or retarded or both)
VI is like 2 movies with 50% being garbage.
The rest is pleb tier tbqh
i hated Endor and Ewoks, everything about it.
And Lando fighting for the Resistance in Millenium Falcon just for the sake of having Lando and Millenium Falcon there
None
Star Wars
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
The Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones
Revenge of the Sith
>In my view, basically all of them
>pleb'n'proud.tiff
This.
The prequels are so-bad-its-good prime meme material, and the sequels are just so bad that its insulting and unwatchable.
2 and half. 4,5, and parts of 6
2.
New Hope and ESB.
RTJ is a mostly bad movie, but is enjoyable for the payoff of finally seeing Luke be a jedi, and the encounter with the emperer/vader. The rest of the movie is kind of trash or a rehash.
The prequels are... the prequels. I know people who were kids when they saw it enjoy it, and that's fine, but it's not quality.
TFA was enjoyable, but also a rehash and not much else to it.
TLJ was a fucking disgrace to the franchise.
RO was boring with forgettable characters, but did space battles better than any other modern Star Wars.
Didn't see Solo, can't comment on that one.
Star Wars don't have to be "good", they just need to be enjoyable.
close. 7 is garbage unfortunately. it had a really, really good start - kylo being menacing and finn showing his humanity. captain phasma being a competent trooper!! then it turned into "lol gud guys win with no development" and bad guys' training and skills turned to plot spaghetti
Episodes 4 and 5 are great. 6 Is good but is somehow less memorable than the other originals and the Ewoks make the Empire look like a complete joke- the throne room scenes are kino though and possibly the best in the franchise. 3 is an ok movie which I would call good in a sense that I enjoyed it, although it is incredibly flawed, especially in terms of dialogue. So those four movies would be the only SW movies I would consider good or better than good.
1 and 2 are boring garbage with some of the worst dialogue in any movie I've seen, along with terrible pacing especially in AOTC, which is the worst prequel by far. The characters are boring and badly acted, and the directing is shit. Yea Forums contrarians seems to think otherwise but who the fuck cares about them? And then you have the disney era, which is terrible in other ways. No creativity or originality, utterly boring "characters", clear social pandering, and plot points that make zero sense (hyperspace ramming, Mary Sue Rey, destruction of Luke's character etc.). Only one I somewhat enjoyed was Rogue One, which was better than the first two prequels at least but I would still only label as a mediocre movie and not "good". Either way, I have no more interest in this ruined franchise. At least I can always watch the OT
2 is the best one
I can agree with everything but
>7 is watchable
I'd watch 3 or 1 over 7 any day. Don't think I could bring myself to watch 2 ever again though, that really is a cinematic travesty
only canon answer ITT
rest are seething brainlets
do you even call this bait anymore?
5>clone wars (2003)>4>6>7>solo>3=rogue one>1>2=8
OT is tragedy. PT is comedy.
ST is a comedic tragedy to observe from a distance.
3, 4, 5 and 6 are all good
2, R1 and Solo are all enjoyable
PM and TFA are passable
The rest are shit
Based life day poster.
There are basically zero reasons to assume it would be bait
attack of the clones hate is a soiboi nerdrage/internet-exclusive phenomenom
I wouldn't say 7 was garbage. Just safe as hell, with some poorly thought out ideas. The characters had potential, and it was a fun generic adventure (rehash), but it had some threads that could've gone somewhere.
8 retroactively made 7 worse because it just decided that any of the previous threads from 7 no longer mattered.
maybe im a little blinded by watching 7 at the IMAX
it didnt really fuck up that bad, due to not taking any risks and i guess i just enjoyed watching a SW movie on the big screen again
have to rewatch it i guess
one good taste in the sea of shit taste
>Star Wars don't have to be "good", they just need to be enjoyable
yes it does, brainlet
1-6 are good, lucas is good, disney movies are not good. Simple as that.
i dont even give a shit about SW fandom its just terrible in any way and youre just trying to prove something you probably dont even believe in yourself
3 = 5 > 4 > 6 = 1 > 2 > Clone Wars Movie > Rogue One > Holiday Special > Solo > 7 > 8
/thread
1.5 possibly 2 with nostalgia goggles
hahah no please get some taste, seriously get some taste
Attack of the Clones is pure cinematic delicacy. That's not even an outrageous statement or opinion, it's perfectly realistic.
>leaving out the Casablanca of our generation
Disgusting.
hahah no please get some taste, seriously get some taste
5 is the only film that could be considered a good film by a reasonable adult. Rest are giga-garbage.
true
Thats right
The only good movies were the sequels. I only liked the OT at first (i mean the prequels UGH am i right xD), but i couldn't help but feel giddy when Episode 7 and 8 curb stomped my childhood repeatedly. I think i like it because it helped me sever myself from a past in which i, and the movies, were a lot more problematic and toxic, and it forced me to see a newer and brighter future that is much more open, happy, inclusive and diverse. So thank you Disney, thank you Rian Johnson and thank you Rose for crushing my precious childhood memories and separating me from my former bigotry.
Also i clapped when i heard the tie fighter attack theme.
lol no, reddit cope. ESB is fucking embarassing and not for grown men any more so than the rest.
3. 2 if you're picky.
None.
Episode 1 and 2 are average.
Everything from Episode 3 to Solo are good to excellent.
Don't (You) me.

Empire Strikes Back is a very solid film and the best of the trilogy.
I know Rogue One gets a lot of hate, but I honestly enjoyed it a lot. I actually gave a shit about the rebels that fought and died at Scarif than Farm-boy McStarkiller. It actually felt like a war film with a dash of The Dirty Dozen. Yes, the plot was convoluted, but even as a kid, I had a feeling that the exhaust vent weakpoint was deliberate. No way something like that was overlooked.
Like 2 and a half.
How could Lucas come up with so many interesting characters and planets (regardless of execution) and the hacks at Disney can't even make a single original setting or character?
He ripped off from other people like Akira Kurosawa, Jack Kirby, Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mézières (writer and artist for Valerian and Laureline).

If anybody ripped off Valerian it was the concept artists that designed the Falcon and Vader. And even that's a big if, cause I kind f doubt you could just buy french comics in the States back then.
pretty much this, though i think 2 and 8 are both equally bad for different reasons.
Night Night Kathleen
this. 3 are really good, 2 if you wanna be an ass.
>And even that's a big if, cause I kind f doubt you could just buy french comics in the States back then.
My neighbor bought manga in the 80's despite growing up in Bumblefuck, Ohio. He also bought Euro comics. You'd be surprised how many people bought foreign comics pre-2000's.

Including the specials and animated movies I'd say about maybe 0 of them are any good. Just a bunch of pew pew sounds and uninspired sci fi tropes
Read this in class and burst out laughing
A New Hope is the best, The Empire Strikes Back is good and Return of the Jedi is alright.
Everything else is utter trash.
Based
I think talking about Star Wars is probably the gayest thing in the universe.
All of them...none of them.
