Some things seemed forced and a bit rushed. I don't think they fleshed out Alita's personality at the beginning enough, and her relationship with Hugo and motivation to do the things she did seemed kinda rushed.
That being said, this was the best live action anime adaptation film ever. I liked it, i'm looking forward to the sequel.

Because Kishiro agreeed to a super short adaptation while his manga had just begun. The OAV didn't do that well in Japan, and the OAV market as whole was dying, so making sequels was out of the question. Also, apparently, James Cameron bought all the rights for adaptations back in 1998, so no anime can't be made without his consent.

Nah theaters aren't really built like that anymore. If you sit in the front row and look straight ahead you're basically looking at the bottom half of the screen. It enhances all the ground-level shots and the motion shots panning down. So, every city street scene and every motorball shot.
