All of the acting was pretty and it was pretty damn funny at time, and I thought Nicholas Hoult was pretty underrated in it. Roma is a better film, but I enjoyed The Favourite more.

It's very well written which is shown through it's fantastic dialogue.
There is a plot, but the duo overshadow everything in the movie with their great chemistry.

Unironically a really good film, not a single moment wasted or squandered. It reminded me of Frank Darabont in the 90s, which is to say somewhat conservative ideals with racial themes that doesn't condescend to the audience, and is tack-sharp in the edit.

It was ok, nothing more. The entire thing felt like a “paint by numbers” biopic. Shuffling predictably from one cliched situation to the next. Decently crafted with a decent performance, but zero originality, all the story arcs felt predetermined. Literally nothing about this movie shocked or surprised me, it was absolutely generic.
It gets a pass because of good performances and it felt soulful enough, but never took a chance to be anything more than just “good”.

The last “oppressed black man” biopic I saw that felt genuine and legitimately told a story in its own right was “12 years a slave”, yet Green Book is now somehow on the same level? Fuckoff.

When I was a kid we used to have these school writing contests. If you were in the top 3 you'd get a trip to the local water park.
