I bought a hacked Fire Stick for Kodi and it was such a fucking meme. In Kodi you have to install all these different channels and 80% of the times the movies wouldn't work or take forever to buffer. These channels would also get shut down by the gov't so you would have to download their new channel and set it up all over again.
Downloading off a torrent is risky (you can get a letter from your ISP). And the quality usually looks meh when played on a really big TV. If you're watching a torrented file on PC connected to a TV, you won't be able to ff/rewind with your remote.

It's more convenient if you're a normie or don't want to jump through hoops with setting up vpns, torrent clients or filesharing multiaccount services. I used to pirate when I was young and couldn't afford shit - now I can and just prefer to dish out 5-10 bucks monthly for HBO GO or Netflix and be done with it.
