The lead actress is so bad that the 'one and done' villain who has less than 20 minutes screentime was considered the best part of the movie.

The tension was non-existant, the deaths at the end meaningless as we knew they would be revived in the sequel. The only 'shock' moment was the stabbing of Tony Stark, yet they immediately show it does not matter as he heals himself.

It's not trolls or sexists, it's just a bad movie with a terrible lead and bland trailers - and a media that immediately jumped on attacking 'fans' which led to normal people and fans losing interest further.
The reality is the 'want to see' does not matter, but the fact that Rotten Tomatoes had to censor the 'want to see' system does matter - it demonstrates the shill nature of Rotten Tomatoes where all negative reviews, comments, etc... is lumped as being trolling.
It also will affect the viewership of Captain Marvel
