True detective finale

Where the fuck was the mystery this season? How was suspenseful music justified in almost the entire last episode? All the fun possibilities were just red herrings.

>detective show has a detective show ending
>retards sperg out about the lack of cthulhu or satanist senator pedophile rings
I wish I could force you retards to watch Death on the Nile just to see the meltdown when there's no ancient demon going around killing people.

Attached: dotn.jpg (664x498, 92K)

I need movies where ancient demons kill people desu. You know some?

yeah absolutely the same thing

>>retards sperg out about the lack of cthulhu or satanist senator pedophile rings
Nah nigga I just wanted an OUNCE of fucking mystery. The last two episodes were telegraphed as fuck and then SMOKEY EYED NIGGA just wraps up the entire series of events for us.

HOW FUCKING LAZY???

pedorings sexrings snd cults never have and dont exist g0y.

you're in all of these threads and you're a fucking idiot

>season one is peppered up the ass with references to horror literature
>be surprised people are disappointed when none of those pay off

I remember during the touching Wayne/Roland scene at the end and hearing the creepy as music in the background and thinking to myself "wtf?". Thought someone was gonna kill the other.

Such a strange, strange episode.

What an argument. Absolutely superb you fat fucking piece of shit.

*thrilling piano plays*
*nothing happens*

the entire fucking season bro

I haven't started to watch yet. Do you guys recommend or no?

Absolutely, just be ready for a lackluster ending

Did you really care about the mystery in the first season? It was about Marty and Rust

Even with the shit ending it was still the best thing on television in the past year

past a certain age...

Nothing I've read today pleases me more than Pizza once again trolling all you conspiracy theory loving faggots.

How to get a drugged up gf lads?

Attached: qtmj.jpg (1920x1080, 228K)

well if it isn’t Mr Salad Fork

Yes. Ending is a solid pleb filter though, so if you're a pleb you might end up crying on here like the other plebs.

just adopt a kid and keep her in the Pink Room for a decade mate

Imaging liking stuff (or pretending to like it) just to be a contrarian. We used to call these people hipster faggots. Now we just call them redditors.

Live in Hollywood fairytale land

aint no women look like that in Arkansas and aint no women look like that whom are that much of damaged goods

>then SMOKEY EYED NIGGA just wraps up the entire series of events for us.

While he told most of the story, the thing is Julie is still alive and one eyed nigga didn't know and while Hays figured it out and drove to her place he forgot what the fuck he's doing there and got lost later succumbing to dementia completely and losing his mind, in a sense the answer to whereabouts to Julie went away with Hays decaying memory.

He's making do after droping redpills and naming (((them))); TD is done. Now go do research about the Franklin scandal.

She was such a qt.

but at that point did anyone really care that she was alive? I know we were supposed to feel happy or some shit that she got a normal life, but all I could think about was Will, Harris James, the two murdering cops. I really didn't give a fuck what happened to Julie

How about you type a coherent thought, fucknut

>dumddum dum dumd dum dumddumdumd dah
>BWAAAAAAAH
>*old wayne sips some water*

Well obviously Hays and Roland somewhat cared about it since they teamed up again as senile old men to snoop around.

> but all I could think about was Will, Harris James, the two murdering cops. I really didn't give a fuck what happened to Julie

>Main "mystery" of the season is a missing girl aka Julie

>I don't care about it I care about it

Why were you even watching the show? Are you one of those retards who expects like le lovecraftian yella kang demon fighting at he end? Also what else did you expect out Harris WIll and etc that you're so thinking about them?

Although unrelated to what I wrote, this was a nice blog post. Thanks for sharing, fren.

The series started out with Hays, looking for a lost Julie, and ended with Julie , returning a lost Hays.

Bravo Pizza.

lol good luck with your brain damage

Bone Tomahawk, sorta.

>Roland gets no closure
>hays gets no closure
why the fuck couldn't pizza atleast show us that they both resolved the case and are happy? instead we got his son keeping the note. I fucking hate pizza, julie standing in front of hays and still he pulls the memory card just to tease us and give us a shit ending. Someone explain the last shot of him in the jungle, what's the meaning behind it?

no way the reporter didn't eventually find that out

Did you really think (((HBO))) was gonna explore more into pedorings? This is just the "yeah it looks like it but there are no really such things" explanation.

Why would she?

based redditor

They did though. They found out what happened to Julie. Granted, it wasnt the whole story, but the knowledge of her 'death' is something.

There's no meaning behind it, you retard, it's just Purple Hays trekking through the jungle.

Attached: purple.png (1280x738, 887K)

The episode where Rust monologues about how dumb people looking for meaning are was meant to describe people like you.

Quinoa

Anyone with half a brain knows True Detective was never about the plot, but rather about the characters, atmosphere, and personal drama. Why do you think Pizza Lotto writes these crazy red herrings that are infinitely more interesting than what the actual mystery winds up being and then just leaves them unresolved with zero explanation? Because they add to the atmosphere. That's it. The actual mystery is just a pretty background irrelevant to the real meat of the show and is only ever solved out of obligation to avoid Redditors screeching that they never got to find out who the killer was. People seriously misunderstand how to approach this show. You're meant to sit back and enjoy the ride instead of scrutinizing every little detail and taking the initiative to piece together clues. It's not that kind of show.

Ironically, the average True Detective fan is a smug Rust-wannabe pseudointellectual who doesn't realize the show they feel so smart for watching is literally the epitome of "Dude just turn your brain off" entertainment.

>what's the meaning behind it?
Dissapearing into jungle is symbolising him losing his mind/memory due to dementia/alzheimers. His last memory is his proposal to wife and then then disappearing into jungle.

why would anybody watch this shit after season 2?

I was expecting BAD ASS policemen to MONOLOGUE about how DUMB and POINTLESS the SOCIETY is and how RIDICULOUSLY UNIMPORTANT in the grand scheme of UNIVERSAL things is the fact that mom makes me take out trash every fucking evening!!

What the fuck PIZZA you were supposed to be my guy?!

I don't think the case was good enough to carry an entire season. Same with the characters and their relationships, they felt somewhat underdeveloped and one-dimensional. It would've made a great feature length movie though, or a mini-series at best. 8 episodes were a couple too many, the content just wasn't there.

So why was the boy asking those teens where his sister was late at night? Who's lying here?

Did they ever explain what happened to the wife? How did she die? Sickness? Murder? Did i miss something or is it insignificant?

because that was rushed so people thought with more time it might be good again.

Nope, was cut. Supposedly she dies peacefully in her sleep somewhere around 2013.

It was said in ep2 or ep3 she died of cancer.

>red herrings
>s1 ends in them finding a labyrinth shrine to carcosa full of bones and mummified bodies

What happened to based dem keedz poster? Miss that guy.

That's right, and then the portal opened and cthuluhu came out and Lovecraft said LOYVEYCRATIANS and it was a loveycraftian show.

>a serial killer who belonged to some deranged cult has a fucked up place near his home

wow amazing

you better be high or some shit nigga

Roland just missed his buddy man. Lmao at your "gay" shit.

What did he mean by this?

To all the people that said Hays remembered what he was doing at Julie's place and remembered while drinking water.

Attached: 4.jpg (1024x803, 101K)

Attached: 5r.jpg (640x514, 40K)

Hays gave the address to his son who was about to shove it in a drawer but looked at it again and put it in his pocket. He’s either going to follow up himself or pass it along to the reporter.

>true redditors were too stupid to understand or even try to understand S2 are now upset because they got exactly what they asked for

Good.

There's an amazing amount of revisionism and strawman bollocks regarding season 1 going on in order to defend this season. The occultism was and conspiracy aspects were a large part of the original show's appeal and anyone saying otherwise either also has dementia or is outright lying. On that note, I don't think I've seen a single complaint that the lack of a similar pay off is the main issue with season 3.

It was implied that he broke off the affair with the reporter. Also see.

>deleted scene
Huh

>pizza talking about things we didn’t get to see and are left completely open to interpretation
I might not be right but his speculation carries no more weight than mine. If it was so important he would have included it.

He's not the only one who has a complete control over the show, it's by financed by HBO if they don't like something they can cut it out.

he's made three seasons of this shit by now, he shouldn't SIGH like a bitch when its his own fault. snyder tier behavior pizza, am disapointed

I hate when a writer has to explain their work like that. Either leave it up for speculation or actually contain the answer in the work. JK Rowling bollocks.

Are these too related? They look so alike

Attached: vlcsnap-2019-02-26-00h15m50s377.png (1920x1080, 2.22M)

yeah and I have no problem disregarding their opinion even if they're the creator. It's like Kubrick's retarded explanation for 2001

>true detective
Show about a married couple.

I'll bet you have said New York city is a character itself in mean streets or taxi driver

Why did black policeman just give up on the case after he discovered who kidnapped the girl?

1. It was said in one the first episodes that she died of cancer
2. Hays having dementia episode and forgetting why he went to Julie's house is understandable to anyone who's not a peanut brain
3. Hays son not throwing away the note with the address and keeping the note implies he has some sort of interest

While Pizza is not perfect, I find also hard to grasp how can you watch a show and completely miss such simple points. Like "le ghost of Amelia showed up and explained everything", it wasn't a ghost it happened in Hays mind he was hallucinating/losing his shit. It's like in S1 finale when Rust goes to that dungeon and starts seeing blue portal plenty of people were saying "mysterious cthulu/paranormal shit etc" while it's been shown in earlier episodes time and time that Rust fried his brain a bit too much because of his past while he worked undercover in narcotics and abused drugs. There were plenty of scenes where he halucinated/had weird visions.

Like: youtube.com/watch?v=ppYoPvwDT88

Because they killed their only lead they had concrete evidence on, and Hoyt promised to ruin Hays’ life if he kept poking around.

OH MY GOD THIS LITTLE GIRL IS SO CUTE AHHHHHHHH

>Final scene with Hays back in Vietnam making his way through the jungle
>Hays looks directly into the camera, not saying a word
>it ain’t me starts playing as he silently advances into the undergrowth

Absolute kino ending desu

>guy randomly bumps into his childhood crush
>they live happily ever after
>ten years of living underground and being fed lithium all the time is apparently curable, or at least no signs of lasting damage are shown
>nuns faked Julie's death on vague notion there are bad people out there trying to get her
It could have been average, but it turned out tacky

Attached: 1538668734638.jpg (419x444, 28K)

guess he wasn't a true detective after all

literal perfection

>gotta lead come through while canvassing the neighborhood yesterday
>drifter by the name of Reggie LeDoux came to town two months back, hasn’t been seen since the disappearance
Did pizza explain why this scene was cut?

just like s1 one huh?

>NO!

I was honestly taken aback at how cute she was.
How is it possible to create such a perfect specimen?

hm

Attached: 5.png (640x572, 83K)

season 4 needs to be written by Alex Jones.

This is better detective work than Hays and Roland managed in 35 years

The point is simply that a writer shouldn't have to explain their work. I find it amazing you could project so much shit onto such a simple post.

im not implying he is that poster .... if that's what you're implying

Attached: 1472004826483.jpg (250x150, 7K)

Anybody else the transitions between time periods silly?
>old Hays looks into mirror, sees younger self doing something, younger Hays acts like he's being watched by someone

> project

I don't think you understand what that word means, if you're unable to logically think and understand what has been shown to you. I think you should stick to capeshit where plot is easy to follow and understand.

Also as I said earlier Pizza isn't the only one who has complete control on what to show and what cut out of it, HBO had hand in it.
Also see.

The ending was ok. I just wish there was a good twist or shocking moment

user you're literally taking what other posts said and applying them to my posts. Stop doubling down on your utter retardation.

>user you're literally taking what other posts said and applying them to my posts.

What posts?

You're quoting pics from Pizza's explanation like when he drove to Julie's place. Because some people obviously didn't get it.

For example how else do you interpret scene where Hays drive to Julie and clearly shows forgot what he's doing there and gets lost so that he has to call his son to come pick him up and walk to Julie and ask what address it is so they can come pick him up? Or what do you think it implies that Hays son keeps the note with address instead of throwing it away? It shows he has some sort interest in him, if he didn't give a shit he would've thrown the note away like he was planning to.

Instead of sprouting buzzwords try to articulate your reasoning.

Why didn't the little girl recognize him? She saw him just the other day at her dad's work

Attached: 1544044438744.jpg (605x884, 86K)

Yeah that was dumb, but it could be her parents (or probably her dad specifically) instructed her to keep her mom's cover intact.

Maybe she did
then again, it was only very briefly she saw him

Attached: vlcsnap-2019-02-26-00h14m41s051.png (1920x1080, 2.07M)

I'll say it for a third time and maybe you'll get it, he shouldn't be replying to them. You're really overthinking this.

>he shouldn't be replying to them.

Why, because you don't like it?

What unit was Hays in? I know he was a lrrp, but did he ever get more specific than that?

guys...

You told me the reason you joined the army was that if you died, the government would give your mother $10,000
They spell it out for you. Hays made up the story loosely based on his own life experiences & fantasies of life on the future to pass the time in the jungle. If this isn’t the explanation then there is no reason to have this line in the finale.

Attached: 5DD69096-1359-4A83-9E9C-37DF5C9CDCF8.jpg (2000x1333, 729K)

They just always said Recon

She was dosed up to the eyeballs on lithium

For me, it's the left one

>True Detective
>Story is about the detectives rather than the case

It’s in the title, op

Attached: image.jpg (222x227, 26K)

wut?

Much like season 1, the story ends in a way that isn't exactly lined up with what the evidence was seeming to conclude, and it's done in a quick way, introducing a new character that the audience could never have guessed existed (the fat lawn mower man in s1 and the rich daughter in s2). Everything seems to point towards a pedophilia/molestation type deal here, with a larger network of girls that go missing and never found, but nope, just a crazed rich daughter trying to brainwash a kidnapped girl into believing she is someone else.

I imagine people putting such a show together aren't going to outright target such cults/groups because it's a good way to get things shut down in early stages. So they don't present it that way. In both stories, they are just detectives solving cases that don't actually have anything to do with "pedo cults" or other cult worship involving young girls/women and the rich elite. During the process of the nonlinear narrative, it's impossible to know that these cases are so simple because only the last episode reveals the character that is apparently behind it all. So during the entire show, the audience is left coming up with their own ideas, and both seasons push that thought process towards the aforementioned cultist stuff.

So what does it all mean? Well, somebody is going out of their way to reveal these realistic stories, showing how powerful elite can influence and control narratives for their benefit. It's a simple concept, something that allows them to get away with very disgusting and inhumane crimes. Many have been found out, but they are just sacrifices, while the bigger groups go untouched. They are your rulers.

You didn't realize that was a Civil War era military fort?

Jesus what a shitty season. TD really was a one hit wonder.

Attached: FUCK YOU.png (983x774, 359K)

What are you talking about? Hoyts daughter was hinted at pretty strongly. I managed to guess the ending pretty acurately after ep 7. And s1 was all about a pedophile ring. Are you an idiot?

Hays made up a story to parallel his own. He didn’t have a good childhood. He trivializes the possibility of dying in the war because his mom will at least get paid. His job as a LRRC means lots of time spent alone searching for the enemy, so he makes up this murder mystery in his mind to pass the time. The characters in the mystery more than likely parallel people he knows IRL - Hoyt is probably a commander. Roland and crazy Indian are guys in his unit. Lucy is his mother. Then there are characters assembled from his own personality. Amelia is the narrative part of his brain inventing the story. Julie is the hope that despite all the fucked up shit he’s gone through, he will live a normal life someday. Then there is the on-the-nose symbolism of Hays and Amelia walking through the door into the light because it’s time for Hays to get his shit together and get back to work, but just prior to that there is the conversation about why he joined the army in the first place. The only reason that’s even brought up is to make you realize it’s a series of fantasies invented by a bored soldier.

s1 was all about covering up a pedo ring without actually saying that's what it's about.

Hoyts daughter might have been mentioned, but it was just a side note much like Hoyts entire background. They leave it all undiscovered until the very last episode so that you could never really know for sure. Ya, maybe it was one of the guesses, or close to the guess you made, but "pretty accurately" isn't 100%.

I for one knew by episode 2 that Purple was involved with the cover up. His memory issues and deep levels of regret made that fairly clear. Could I have guessed the full extent of what he helped to cover up? No, but that seemed intentional so that the nonlinear narrative could have the impact desired.

Not as good as The Terror

the most ridiculous part of the final ep was that Hayes decided to go to that address without Roland. And decided to do it on a day he knew he had family coming over.
OH yea he had dementia right nvm plot saved

But she also mentions something about time happening all at once. So instead of it happening all in his head, it is still all happening in his head, but all at once, all the time. That is to say, we live in our entire existence all at once; memory is just an illusion of time.

because there is more than one eyed said,
nuns saved her life by changing her name, wayne found her happy and refused to ruin everything if he stir up her past with questions

It wasn’t Julie. You people are idiots.

>I managed to guess the ending pretty acurately after ep 7
nice larp

>without actually saying that's what it's about.
Did you even watch season 1?

>wayne found her happy and refused to ruin everything if he stir up her past with questions

He forgot what he's doing there brainlet.

Maybe i'll sound stupid but i have a question related to the last scene (Hayes going into the jungle). Do people with PTSD and halzeimer "lose" their PTSD with their memories ? Or does the fact that they have been so affected by those memories will make them less "forgetable" ?

Spectacle.

>wayne found her happy and refused to ruin everything if he stir up her past with questions
So why call his son, why come up and ask for directions, why tell the son about the paper, why?

Inventive, but about as effective as all the other 'edgy' re interpretive summations of shows that come down the pipe years after the fact.

That would have about as much impact as when it turned out Roseanne dreamed the last season of her show.
I am not sure why you put so much meaning into the line about why his wife said he joined the army.

That line exists to show that he was a fairly empty sort of a person, that beyond the badge there was not a lot to him, and he did not even join the army for any kind of dynamic or well thought out reason. It also shows that he had little self worth, and did not care much about himself. The line is meant to reveal that the most important thing in his life is his love for his wife and his family, intertwined with his obsession with his duty and work ethic.

I do think what some user said about him disappearing in to the bush in the last scene symbolises his descent into alzheimers and his remnants of self fading into the dark is probably spot on.

Dumb hohol.

fine, so there was no hidden signs in this scene

It isn't ridiculous. He has trouble understanding what is going on around him, and arranging his thoughts coherently.

He most likely struggled to hang on to a bare thread of what he had realised and rushed off to try and deal with it, without remembering that he should write it down, or call Roland, or what was happening with his family.

As the disease progresses, people often think things are happening that are out of alignment with the reality around them.

>Detective show gives hints at who the culprit is
>Completely pulls answer out of ass in last episode wasting everyone's time

Hays doesnt and never had ptsd

I agree with this except for the last bit about symbolism. I don't think there's anything symbolic about the final scene(s). It's a summary of Wayne's life in reverse. Young man alone in the jungle operating on pure instinct & waiting to die in the 1960s to marrying Amelia in 1980 to being surrounded by family and Roland as his self finally disintegrates in 2015.

My uncle was a door gunner in Nam and his unit worked exclusively with LRRP units and CCN. He had some wild stories about those guys.

I wasnt speaking of Hayes.

Wasn't there something in Chickenhawk about them getting mortared and those guys going into the jungle and returning with mortars and fucking charlie heads?

my prediction was the sister killed the bro to fuck the older boys

the acting/directing/suspense were all good, but the story/plot sucked in general :\

>loveycraftian
Is this supposed to be LaVey and Lovecraft mixed? It almost works but you're still a faggot.
>pizza, am disapointed
same, replying to questions about the story like that on what I assume is twitter is a bitch move from pizzo

This season would have worked well as a movie, maybe with Saulnier directing the whole thing. There was just enough mystery and character stuff in this season to make a solid 2 hour film if put together right.

Who cares about Harris, that piece of shit killed Tom after him and one eyed darkie put him through hell

>was mad that the finale sucked
>tried rewatching it again
>it's pretty good
It was my own anger which blinded me to the truth

So it was your anger stopping you from seeing how a 5 minutes exposition into a horrible montage is a good way to solve the mystery?

Let's put it this way. Junius Watts should have died at some point and everything he told, should have been discovered by Hays and West at some point. The car crash, the first attempted kidnapping, the lithium, all that should have been part of the clues to find. They should have glued it together.

it's too bad that people dismiss this season because they come in expecting the ancient evil pedo ring and find nothing like that, Hays' story was truly great

Overall it was good, but I found the ending a bit disappointing for me, lacked climax, nothing interesting in the pink room, and most of the scenes with Amelia are boring. Like Season 2, I enjoy it, but there are things that are bad.

Attached: TRUE DETECTIVE.jpg (2002x912, 366K)

because she is a racist who thinks that all black people look alike

This is a dumb complaint. Only mongoloids expected something that grandiose, and who cares what they think? The way this very limited mystery unfolded was awkward and unsatisfying, and while the character work had some great moments there was too much of it in relation to the overall mystery. Still, the whole ending with Hayes finding Julie but (maybe) not recognizing her or remembering what he was doing is a good one, and would have been a great ending to a movie.

Hays remembered who she was when he drank the water, he chose to forget about it. it's okay because he's not the only one in town who knows the truth. It's not his burden to carry anymore

Why do people on reddit talk in this weird sarcastic pussified American way? also >inb4 going to reddit.
i just looked to see what the major consensus was.

Attached: Capture.png (873x325, 41K)

Hays did not remember it. And that is just fine ending.

1>2not even kidding

hahah wtf that is my instagram
so funny to open that picture

just took a fat bong rip and sipping on a beer. thinking about them pedo jews and satanic globalists and then BAM

I was right about pizza all along and he told me and then tv told me about it

you are right

Hays remembered he was there for a reason but couldn’t remember the reason

Second was the worst. TD happening in a rural place is the way imo.

Would love to hear some stories. Read about them alittle bit, seems like some badass alpha fuckers.

No, it is ridiculous. Very ridiculous. They've just teamed up and sat through a guy explaining in detail what they spent 30 years of their lives thinking about, and now that he has a new though/lead that can change the whole thing he goes by himself in order to make le epic twist. It's B horror movier-tier and you should stop trying to make excuses for sloppy writing.

The entire season was great. Stop being critical of the media you consume, our brave writers and directors are never wrong. If you dislike something, it's because you didn't get it. Say it.

Attached: 1982312.jpg (490x586, 19K)

Literally nobody is taking that stance

The reporter woman doesn't even appear in the finale, we don't really get a closure on that matter.
Also including Rust and Marty was a cheap move.

>Also including Rust and Marty was a cheap move.
This was basically red herrings: the season, so of course they'd include something dumb like that

Attached: 1475183972134.png (449x500, 248K)

I liked the episode, but the ending didn't make sense from a storytelling perspective. Wayne realized that Julie is alive and is living with Mark, goes to her address, and then forgets everything. Why should the audience care? If Wayne didn't forget, what was he going to do? Arrest her?

Everybody who was "in on the conspiracy," except one, was dead by 2015, and the conspiracy wasn't that bad in the first place. The conflict was resolved for decades, and there was no point in revisiting the case outside of closure (which the detectives didn't even get).

Seasons 1 and 2 left things unresolved, while everything resolved itself in the last season. Even if Wayne's son does find out the truth, why would it matter? I don't necessarily need a giant conspiracy, but there really was nothing to the mystery besides a gigantic misunderstanding.

When this shit gets another season you're going to watch that one too. You're all tards who keep falling for it.

That final shot was a really odd choice that felt at odds with the previous shots. The fuck was the point of showing Purple walking into the jungle alone?

I genuinely want to see this.

He finally succumbed to dementia by entering deep into the jungle of his own mind.

((()))

Attached: aaaaaa.png (640x572, 73K)

People with Alzheimers do ridiculous things. You seem to have mastered the art without the disease, and have a growing stack of posts ITT to prove it. People with alzheimers sometimes think their children are their dead spouses, but it's somehow ridiculous that they might forget to make a phone call?

Attached: 2.webm (1280x720, 2.88M)

that part is hayes dying. Where he randomly gasps wide eyed.

The walk in to the jungle is him dying symboliclly, him walking in to the light with his wife is also him dying symboliclly.

It represents the two halves of hayes for his whole life.

Kino, purely kino.

Pizza man is the realest since Lynch

so did we ever find out if Roland was a gay? I'm leaning towards yes since he asks to move in with Hays at the end

excessive s/oy consumption and masturbation

But why did you reddit space?

he just wanted a friend and a life dude

He is a bestialist. He married that kind dog who cruised him outside that bar when he was at his lowest point.

Uncovering his shady network of animal abuse will be the crux of season 4. Why do you think he had a whole set up just for animals on his property...

that explains wanting to move in with a nog then. thanks!

Leave it at Julie dying in convent, the Mike Ardoin plot was embarrasing.

Yes. That last episode was like a balloon slowly deflating, and it took the whole season with it.
It was so cheesy at times also, one of the worst things for immersion in movies/shows is when suddenly you see the author during a scene, like some things felt so awkwardly worded and constructed.

Bet we'll get season 4 regardless of this though.

I would even take the secret Julie happy ending, but the Wayne revelation, and the ambiguity about whether the truth would be discovered or not, served no purpose. I don't think even Wayne's son would give a shit about what really happened, if a follow-up was done.

This season was like Gone Baby Gone, but if the kid was found over 30 years later.

did you all miss the final scene? clearly the whole show was a dream. he died in vietnam

This season had maybe 2 hours worth of material stretched over 8 episodes. Pizza is a hack who's run out of ideas.

nah not me I'm 100% done with this shit

is this real?

>You seem to have mastered the art without the disease, and have a growing stack of posts ITT to prove it.
Aww, are you getting feisty because someone called your detective show dumb?

I know kids are dumb, but I think that even they can remember a old man they spoke to yesterday.

twitter is gay but this is kind of interesting

More like Hays losing it

one of these cant remember which

fuck off and stay gone redditor

Really thought they were going to take it another way with the convent chicks. The look that one girl amelia was interviewing back in 90 gave to the groundskeeper made me think he was abusing them; almost thought they were going to have Mike be a similar abuser to the current girls and the old detectives were gonna solve one last case to end the cycle of abuse or something. Instead we got some disney ending

holy fuck

Chin vs. no chin

5 hours desu

why is reddit so fucking reddit

I'm more bothered by the fact that he drives quite a nice car for someone who lives with chickens

it's like poetry

gibs award

I considered this also, but then I remembered in 2015+ everyone drives a nice car.

Use to be in the 90s that if you were poor, you had a square, rusted out piece of shit

Season 1 and 2 had huge audience spikes during the finale because people wanted to see the crime being solved, but this time they couldn't even bother. I think they were able to smell bullshit.

Attached: 89304.png (1130x158, 25K)

It's not specified how much time passed, and she only saw him for less than a few seconds. It's plausible she forgot.

So was the big reveal the fact that they were both gay? Shouldve given more credit to that user who solved it in the first ep, when he called out Rolands display of affection for Tom.

Attached: gayfaggots.jpg (1126x686, 307K)

People are trying to feed a hunger they have with series that is not.

It is clear that there is an audience for a detective story with mystic/esoteric/supernatural elements with foot on the ground execution.

>men being kind to each other mean they're gay
We need more homos then

Explains Hays problematic relationship with his wife, also explains why Roland cared so much about him to try and save his ass in the 80s. Both had trouble coming out of the closet.

t. never had a real friend.
not that I blame you, they are so insanely rare. but that's just what that is, friendship.

anyone else think Roland was going into some gay bear bar during the opening of that fight scene? Bravo pizza

Dear faggots and closet faggots in this thread: Please stop talking. Please stop projecting. No one actually wants to hear from you. You're gross and mentally ill. This site is for straight people. Thanks.

this.

he was literally losing his mind in the jungle. He is still in veitnam and imagind the whole show events unfold. that is the fucking twist you were hoping for and it went right over your dim skulls

ALZHEIMERS TRANSDIMENSIONAL NIGGER

it zooms in on his right eye because he was right when amelia left

Go rewatch season 3 fanboy, I've heard the fights between Hays and Amelia get better the second time.

this is a safe space

Doesn't "reddit spacing" start with a space like this?
Yeah reddit sucks but who cares about fucking spacing?

Any post with unnecessary line skips is reddit spacing.
>Yeah reddit sucks but who cares about fucking spacing?
Actual white people who aren't learning disabled. Not you, for example. You can't figure out paragraphs.

Hayes had a piercing hole in his right ear. This is to signify he was homosexual

Attached: 67567967897890.png (516x547, 290K)

I was confused by this, why did he go in for a fight? I assumed it was because Micheal Rooker had threatened him also, and it had caused him to break up with that GF of his we see that one time, thus he takes his anger out on a happy couple

why didnt the dead-eye Negro just tell them without them finding his address?

Cause it would point out the stupidity of the story - they played detectives whole series, and it ends with someone just deciding to tell them the whole story.

who else is tired of seeing stars & bars representing "poor, white people". its so cliche

Attached: 1.png (1920x1080, 1.15M)

OK. I guess I don't know as much about reddit as you. I bow to your expertise.
Other have explained it to me that redditors start with a space and include a space between each sentence. So your standard shrieking of "mommy! reddit spacing!" seemed incorrect based on the info I have heard. But you seem to be the expert so OK.

yeah but so what? The “twist” was pretty much totally inconsequential. How would the ending have been affected if the nuns hadn’t faked her death?

>getting told what you do is wrong/not white
>doing it again in the very next post
This is why no one will ever respect you. You can't learn and you can't be told. I didn't bother reading your post because you've shown you're just an animal from a family of animals.

This season had great main characters (just Roland and Hays). Hays being republican auto puts it leagues above that shit season 2.

watch old horror kinos

The whole show was about the mystery of disappearing children.
How the fuck do you miss that?

Well his son took the paper. I'm sure Eliza would eventually go there.

Any chance the dementia and happy ending was meant to represent thought manipulation?

You're retarded.

can someone please post the 'it ain't me starts playing' photo of hays at the end of the final episode. pretty please

seasons 2 and 3 both tried to find their footing, giving the bleak and dreary tone s1 had, with a different story. If it was another season of another pedo cult we would have ripped on it for trying to copy season 1. Here they went for a smaller crime, with a smaller conspiracy behind it. Something that probably happens way more often then a pedo cult (not that they dont happen). Ill commend them for trying something more low key, they just fumbled the latter half of it with too many red herrings, pointless drama and a cock tease for a S1 like stoyline

Does noone remember the CEO in the woods telling black man "you dont know shit and you're gonna drop this if you care about your family"?

Same as season 1 where they uncovered a massive pedoring but that stays in the background while the show focuses on the TRUE DETECTIVES

lmao

I'll need to rewatch because i wasn't as pulled in by this season. The early episodes hinted at some free masonry being afoot and there were obvious cuts in later episodes. that fucking last episode though, whew....looked like they just tied off their butchered plot the best the could.

I dunno, Apu, I just know I love her so much it hurts.

So we can all agree that 1>2> power gap > 3

it didnt post my image... Southern girl best girl

nun in the streets, freak in the sheets

Attached: Lindsay-Musil-UnREAL.jpg (1024x683, 122K)

I hate to rain on your parade, but whatever Free Masonry used to be about, it's now community oriented men who believe in a higher power who donate to kids hospitals (All Shriners are Masons not all Masons are Shriners) and other pro community charitable shit.

If you get a sponser you can be one too and then wear cool rings and get a tattoo and license plate and have other cool super not so secret club members ask you things like "How long you been traveling East?"

Look at this cope describing an objectively inferior finale. Face it, season 3 wrote a lot of checks its ass couldn’t cash. The story elements of season 1 are vastly superior. Season 3’s ending was a huge letdown. The entire thing being explained in a random monologue was beyond lazy. The detectives literally did nothing except cause more problems. They would’ve been better off just letting them pin it on the dead Indian

Why does pizza do this? If you have to explain it your work failed

>it's now community oriented men who believe in a higher power who donate to kids hospitals (All Shriners are Masons not all Masons are Shriners) and other pro community charitable shit.
That what they say they do, but they just larp at being kikes by making connection webs and spreading their own brand of nepotism.

This. People forget how awesome it was to see a detective show tackling lovecraftian horror

>t. smug Rust-wannabe pseudointellectual who doesn't realize the show they feel so smart for watching is literally the epitome of "Dude just turn your brain off" entertainment

Hey, at least it's not like Fargo season 3, which spent an episode on a dead end being investigated, even though the audience KNEW beforehand that it was a dead end.

>Still calls out phoneposting

>t. doesn't do anything to better his community and accuses those who do of wrongdoing
Sort your life out, poor.

Why wouldn't he? They don't belong on this site. This isn't twitter/facebook/kik/snapchat.

They were very obviously hinting a pedo ring in the early episodes. And why would they bother to have McConaughey/Harilson easter egg and make the entire goal of the interviewer to discover a larger picture/coverup if they weren't planning for pedo themes like s1??

Not me. It's accurate

>t. crypto kike
Literally all the local politicians are members of my local lodge and they do jack shit apart from playing kikes and being corrupt nepotist niggers who constantly defraud public funds. Fuck freemasons.

Your mom and dad failed at life because they were stupid and/or lazy, not because jews micromanaged the world around them to turn them into victims. The sooner you figure out how reality actually works, the sooner you can escape the poverty cycle. And, no, I don't care about your anecdote. You're paranoid from years of inbreeding.

>a new IP enters the thread

How can a nun just lie like that

>Hoyt says he's not the man with the answer
>he knew everything

??

I can understand his going along with the coverup the first time around but the justification of the second dropping just didn't do it for me. He was very clearly on to something before and after killing the ex cop. Like yeah his family was threatened and yeah he was on ice with department brass because of his wife, but it would have been 10**3 times more interesting if he would have gone full mad man dick nixon on the case like s1 McConaughey. Literally doing any meaningful work on the case is more interesting than just dropping it for another 20 years until he was too old to solve it.

season 3's ending was a kino ending

Attached: 9508e6454b8770d5431bd13ad5b999ab.jpg (1280x720, 107K)

yeah wait wtf?

people are only let down cause the speculation predicted everything. of course the black one eye dude was recapping the story when we all figured out together every possible explanation. the average viewer would have no problem with this ending.

Or it was on Oscar night

Embarrassing.

To verify his pops wasnt insane and find out that the girl did make it out okay even though the bigger conspiracy still existed

Why?

Why did CEO want to find out how much blackman knew?

why's he eyeing the lil girl?

Attached: 12.webm (1280x720, 2.96M)

>Do people with PTSD and halzeimer "lose" their PTSD with their memories ?
Probably not, mental disorders affect neurobiology and is beyond me though so who knows

Because your parents weren't trash and taught you when you should feel embarrassed. You feel embarrassed for having a phone for fags and retards and a picture of that child molester on it, right? You're not telling me your parents are complete trash, right?

Retard. Stop trying.

I don't care what you call it or if you like it. But if you start calling out plot points as stupid and unrealistic when they clearly aren't, you will have to be corrected on the internets.

to give to the white girl netflix doc maker who was manipulating him to get more access to his father

for me it was clear that the easy/tacky explanation was just something Hays chose to believe. Amelia even said during the dementia spell - "what if the story goes on to have a happy ending" or something along those lines.

I thought it was a really clever metaphor about how we as viewers decide what kind of open endings we choose. But then I read his tweets and he spells everything out, fuck that.

Retard, how dense can you be

this, pizza ruined it by talking about it.

Why was she still in hiding if all the hoyts were dead. There was no one really looking for her besides hays and documentary lady by 2015. Also are we supposed to believe it’s actually her? She didnt look like anything similar to the other women that played julie’s grown up actors. Eyes werent even remotely similar. Is it just a fantasy hays created to cope?

Because he remembers her

that stuff ties into the poem Ameila reads at the beginning. All time is experienced at the same time.

So youre saying time is a flat circle?

Whos a child molester?

You're definitely right about s3 being dumb. What is actually amusing about these type of arguments is that nobody says anything about an actually intellectual investment in shows like this. the expectation (for me atleast) is a consistent plot with enough "meat" for later pondering and discussion for entertainment purposes. Anything that doesn't allow for this i won't watch because i seems droll as fuck to me. s3 has a comfortable normie plot that nobody is gonna be dwelling on after they're done watching it.

dude we're all lost in the jungle and we're not gonna find anything lmao

CEO went out alone in the woods with blackman for a reason

He already knew his CHP guy was dead thanks to the gps and just wanted to see how much blackman really knew

When he realized blackman knew nothing other than Julie, he left and stopped caring

Where am I wrong?

yes

The dementia plot became too convenient in the finale. I mean, Hays was fine during the last investigation, from interviewing the nurse up until Roland leaving his house and then at the last crucial moment the dementia was back. Too easy.

Attached: 1551131306993.webm (1280x720, 2.85M)

It also works overall with Julie's story though. Julie wants to remain lost and unbothered and Hays having his bout of dementia means that she will be lost and will be able to live her life.

Ayo
dat cracka finna shootin at gawd

I think it was a clever way for the writers to justify a change in plot direction that wasn't originally intended.

Coming from someone who cared for a dementia patient for a decade this is how it works, but it's also unpredictable so it give Pizza the chance to write his shitty script and get away with it.

bravo pizza

Pizza confirmed that wasn't the case and her storyline was done, she literally served no purpose all season.

Whomever directed the final episode should never direct again, that was tragic.

What was the last picture posted in this conversation? Stop being a fucking retarded poor person.

Her only purpose was to give more characterization to the son really.

I think the son could have been a great character but Pizza didn't really give him much material

literally and unironically, what did they mean by this?

Please don't tell me this was just supposed to be some shoddy character arc visualization where Roland goes from trying to shoot a fox to drunkenly hugging some stray dog.

Attached: 1548405943732.jpg (1191x863, 118K)

I thought the implication was that Nick here never told Julie who she really was, and she went on thinking she really was a princess as a child, meaning that she's still a prisoner of sorts.

I was waiting for the reveal to be that the drawer he opened was full of other notes from other times he almost solved the case.

nope that was it.

Literally cut out an entire plotline where his son does good detective work & found out what his dad did to Harris, god knows why.

Attached: dog.webm (1280x720, 2.93M)

Damn I did not know they cut that much out. I wanted to see more of Henry.

I thought it was supposed to represent a fellow hunter and outcast for Hays, as opposed to the rat he had no compassion for.

Imagine watching this shit after you saw how horrible season 2 was. Morons.

What's on now that's any better?

youtube.com/watch?v=PLZGMcwi758

>then at the last crucial moment the dementia was back

Crucial how? It literally didn't matter if he spoke to Julie at the end or not. He "solved" the mystery already. He let the one-eyed man go. The other perpetrators died way before the 2015 plotline even started.

>reddit space
Try posting again. Maybe this time it will be readable.

Solid television. Season 1 was lucky to get good source material. Performances were spot on in s3 if you ask me.
Ali and Dorff were great.
>That straying dog scene
made me tear up a bit desu

The Americans? The Terror? Unless you meant 2019 but that's not saying much.

why the fuck wouldnt the purcell wife tell the police what happened
hoyt wasnt even a violent person why would he let his retarded daughter kidnap someone

Just finished the last episode.
So finding Julie as an old man was a fantasy? Or was it real? If it was real, was there more to things than we were shown, meaning some real pedo ring stuff? Show kinda made it look like his son was part of it or something.
