It made Iron Man a permanent household name and jumpstarted one of the most successful movie series. So yes, it's a decent action movie. It along with Winter Soldier are the only worthwhile Marvel movies.

This movie doesn't have a single scene that slows down the action.
The transition between him being an arrogant doctor to the travel scene / learning scene / fighting scene / end scene its all so fluent.

The ancient one is a fucking great character.
Wong is a gem.
Bentadick cumalot is great for this role.
great combination of mcu humor + seriousness + relevant plot for the mcu + getting in touch with the character all works perfectly fine.

All the training stuff slows down the action and every comedic moment falls flat. Its pretty average by MCU standards.

Thor 1 is underrated. Has some dumb parts but also some of the best scenes in all of the MCU.

i disagree.
Strange is very powerful in the comics. Without the training scenes i think it would be harder for the viewer to understand the road strange had to take to become who he is.
I also don't think they are slowing anything down. Mountain scene is pretty intense. Fight scene with the black guy where he shows the staff and his shoes and explains how certain spells have to be put in vessels (like the infinity stones) was also good.
I don't see how they slowed down the plot considering how fast enemy #1 was suddenly here to fight and how fast enemy #2 was discovered by strange (don't wanna spoil).

Yeah they were needed but they were pretty bland
