so she killed herself?
is that why she never went back downstairs?
the full credits roll and you can hear people in the background and planes flying by but she never goes back down to give the kids the snacks they asked for
So she killed herself?
I don't think there's any real cause to believe that she killed herself. A film has to end at some point.
First time for 7 years kino made shed a tear. Am I the only one?
Idk man there was that scene where she's playing dead and she mentions she likes being dead. Now you got me thinking man
>First time for 7 years kino made shed a tear. Am I the only one?
It made pre-cum dribble out of my mushroom tip!!!FACT!!!
Damn
No, she's a strong feminine woman who don't need no man.
>so she killed herself?
Honestly did not get that impression at all. Also Fermin's actor was so good. Haven't hated a character so intensely in a long time.
Are you people genuinely retarded?
There's literally nothing to suggest she kills herself.
I agree, that's why I'm asking.
really?
the way it ended had me and my friend talking about it. I thought maybe we weren't the only ones.
movie ends with her going up the stairs(to where she mentioned that she liked being dead) but right before that the kids asked for snacks and she said ok, I'll make you some, then she went up to put the stuff away that she was carrying.
the camera stays pointed to the stairs where you would expect her to go back down(right away) and make the kids the snacks, the camera could have stayed where it was as the credits rolled but she never goes back down and the credits start to roll, no black screen just the same shot and the back ground noise and planes flying over to let the viewer know that its not a still frame.
also did she have a hearing problem?
when it switched to her point of view the sound was quieter and then when the viewpoint changed everything got louder.
Legit shed a tear when she was holding the baby
I think she went up to take her dead baby’s fetus out to eat it and then proceeds to murder her employers family. Just my interpretation don’t judge.
she killed her daughter... and wished that she wasnt born and she was glad that her daughter was dead, she was an awful person.
also the family wasn't going to be able to keep her around for much longer since there is no way that a single mom would be able to raise 4 kids and have 2 maids on a teachers? salary in Mexico in the 1970's
to all those saying
>there is nothing to indicate that she would have killed her self
are fucking brain dead morons and should go back to you Captain Marvel threads
also when the movie ends you hear the same background noises as in the beginning when she said that she liked being dead, dogs barking, people in the distance, birds chirping etc
lmao there's isn't enough height to kill self, she'd just break a leg
Why didn’t she just drown herself in the ocean then. Fucking idiot.
Itsn't the scene at the beach, about she embracing life do?
So people just post spoilers in the intro of their threads now. Cool.
Nothing wrong with promoting Abortion to poor third world single mothers, whos bastard spawn would have become economic migrants.
She probably didn't know how to do it. It's actually difficult to drown oneself in the ocean since the body floats back up too quickly. Usually people die of hypothermia first in the ocean. I don't know about freshwater.
>there is no way that a single mom would be able to raise 4 kids and have 2 maids on a teachers? salary in Mexico in the 1970's
She was going to work at a publishing company
not even spoilers most people agree that OP is a retard and cant into movies
>she was an awful person
She didn't kill her child you fucking retard and she wasn't a bad person. The whole beach scene was about the struggle within herself concerning her dead child. I don't think that the ending implies she killed herself even though in the last shot she is literally ascending to the sky (heaven?). But I think it's more in line with the her being a saint-like figure than anything else
>watching a movie on the most literal basis possible
What would change if she killed herself, or not? The film would still be exactly the same.
She was going to wash the clothes
Cuarón has said that the entire movie is based on his memories as a child and the memories of his friends and relatives, including his acutal maid on wich this character was based and who actually lived through the same events as the character in the movie (including losing her child).
The movie is actually dedicated to the real maid, who not only didn't kill herself, but is still alive, still in contact wifh Cuarón and his family (she even has a cameo in his first movie), and was also at the premiere for the movie.
You're really just reading too much into it.
