Are survival shows fake?

I heard from my co worker that they are staged.

You're co-workers a shit-eating fuck face.

Survivorman is legit.

survivorman isn't fake, he does everything himself. i think he always has a satellite phone with him if it's a serious emergency though

the bear grylls show in which he put a bunch of men on one island and a bunch of women on another and the women fucked everything up and accomplished nothing is real

Depends on the show.
Depends on what you mean by fake.

>a camera operator

most are but this guy was legit, there was a couple of episodes where he nearly died

the first season of Bear was super fake, stayed in hotels and shit

after backlash it was less fake but they arrange for dead donkeys to be available for him etc

Les is based as fuck, Survivorman was such a comfy show.

Surviorman was the realest nigga there was. Half the show was him complaining about wasting energy to collect his camera after getting the shots he wanted.

This dude showed me there are a lot of uses for shoelaces in a Survival situation.

Man vs wild is fake but survivor man is legit

Suriviorman is on the up and up, while Bear Grylls is a bitch ass punk.

I want a survivor man episode set in Detroit

My world was shattered when I learned he staged a few episodes. Unfortunately I can't remember sauce. I think one was one of the Canadian episodes.

Survivorman is real. He is by himself and litterely has to walk almost double distances. Once with the camera showing him walking away (or towards) and then back to go pick up the camera (or place beforehand).

Man vs Wild?

peak comfy

I thought that show Alone would be shitty television kino, but it's horrible. They seem to script a lot of their moments in their tents at night, and the big issue tends to be losing your matches or something equally inane.

Les would literally set up the camera, walk like 2 miles away to get a shot then walk back and get the camera

i remember reading that too but i don't think it was about him staging any episodes, i think it was just about how he had his crew close to him in a couple episodes. he's still doing everything himself, they're just there if everything goes to shit.

Wasn't that a JRE episode or something? I remember hearing something similar about how he had to stage some parts at the very least for safety sake but swore it off later. Been a while since I heard it.

>that episode where he was chillin with some indigenous tribe and they were stalked by a fucking jaguar

All of the UK seasons of The Island that I've seen are great

The first US season has people constantly leaving and the men basically dying of thirst lol

thot got patrolled

It's so nice when he finds food.

>That episode where he does drugs

Survivorman is legit he talks about it in every episode when he mentions he sets up all the camera shots then runs back for the camera.
I think he has a team probably in a couple of miles of where he is as well as a satellite phone in case hes in real trouble.

utah one was real in the sense he filmed it, but he made false claims about distances traveled and how remote he was
outsidebynature.com/main/les-stroud-fake/
he admits to omitting stuff

The stories he told in Joe Rogan about the noises he hears are amazing. He comments sometimes about the vivid dreams he has when he is very hungry, dreams with his family that seems almost real then he wakes up.

i only watch survival shows to watch them forage for food and build shelters like that primitive technology youtube channel.

but they all want to focus on how dangerous their hikes are. boring.

youtube.com/watch?v=3UpSlpvb1is

I'm completely fine with them having a team just as long as they aren't in sight or able to interact at all.
I wasn't ever really paranoid of or upset about about any idea of Bear's crew helping him or setting up scenarios for him, I was always salty that the cameraman being right in front of him means that whole psychological level of being stuck out somewhere by yourself away from everyone could never be a factor, whether they could talk to him or not.
Then when shit like this came out it just buried Bear for me, for a while anyway.

the distance stuff is probably just to set a narrative. is this guy also seriously complaining about sticks and stones being found at camp sites?

7 year old me proudly ran up to my mom to tell her all the wonderful things I had learned from that episode and she was horrified to hear of a cool nut that makes you happy and forget about your problems for a while. Got a lecture and wasn't allowed to watch the show. Based dad overruled.

SHOE

Bear's show might have been more artificial, but I'd way rather be trapped in the woods with him over that whiney, harmonica-playing canuck fuckface.

Bear never whines because he has nothing to whine about with his camera crew and full manned fob (or else a fucking hotel) he's in.

There's also behind the scenes that show him setting up shots and then him having to go back to get the camera.

you have brain damage

He's said on a few occasions even that wouldn't function properly, leaving him truly alone. Les also said he'd filmed a couple of farewell videos during his trips because he was sure he was going to die on at least two occasions.
Mad respect for this guy.

Why not ask for holocaust evidence while you're at it? Come on user, some things are clearly impossible.

Survivorman was legit. All the other shit is staged.

I think he was alone when being stalked, which is even more terrifying.
He said that being stalked by a bull moose was scarier though.

he wasn't stalked by a moose, he was chased down by one

I think if anyone could find Bigfoot, it would be Les.

They already tried that.

Yea, I don't think people realize the risk he is in at times. He goes to places with limited accessible and resources. Suppose he gets somewhere and there is no drinkable water, or food, or a predator, or the weather shifts. He had safety precautions he would bring, but they still often would have a supplementary crew within an hour or so of him.

Les is one of the good ones.

If you have a sat phone, it's fake.
You arent surviving shit. You are just playing in the woods where mommy is a phone call away.
If you watch TV, kill yourself.

If you like Survivorman you should check out Lars Monsen, he did a similar thing and filmed himself going across Northern Canada by canoe and dogsled.. totally alone and filmed by himself (except for meeting some inuit along the way).

"just another day in the life in the bush!"

Jesus fucking christ.
What the fuck do you do with that type of footage? Just overwrite it like its nothing? Keep it in a drawer? Would you ever watch the footage again yourself?
It seems too personal and emotional to just throw away or delete but you certainly aren't going up to your relatives "ha ha, look what i made! didn't think i'd make it!" either.

A moose cant be more terrifying than a ja

Attached: Moose.webm (800x345, 877K)

Moose give 0 fucks, they will charge and kick at TRAINS. They aren't scared of anything. They will run at you and stomp you to death.

what a stupid fucking video with 17k upvoting morons

jesus

how much is that video sped up? 4x 5x?

Was that series good? or hell was it even a series? I saw one episode and it looked neat but never had time to check any more out.

back in my day..
