Just saw this for the first time last week and loved it, made me want to watch The Raid 2 again. Top tier martial arts over the top action.

>martial arts
what

John Wick 2

Easy

Martial Art - Any dedicated practice to mastering a combat or war time skill.

Swimming in armor is a martial art.
The French developed park our during Vietnam, literally the martial art of running away.

The Raid 2
Fury Road

You guys keep memeing The Raid 2. Is it that good? What about the first one?

Stop using words like memeing if you don't even know if it's a meme, you stupid fucking reddit nigger.

The Raid: Redemption

You might not like it, but it's what peak action looks like

They are both great action films. Easily in the top 10 of this decade.

Anything that gets repeated a lot is a meme newfag.

Not in the modern context, reddit spacer. Quote Richard Dawkins at me now.

Furry Road
Dredd 3D

Alita would knock the shit out of baby Wick

THINK OF ME ILL NEVER BREAK YOUR HEART

user I've been here long enough to know that if people keep recommending the same thing over and over, its very likely a meme. But yeah just go back watching Boku no Pico or something, I heard they are making a new installment coming out next month.

>there will never be a raid 3

Hardcore Henry

John does jiu jitsu and shit it's fairly true to life.

We're getting some gangster kino from Gareth Evans though, and I liked the Apostle pretty well.

The virgin boogieman vs the chad battle angel

They're both very good. The Raid 2 is better though.

Apostle was pretty awesome. Dudes a great director.

dredd 3d was absolutely fantastic. i didnt expect much from it, but it went hard almost instantly. im glad they restrained dredd a bit and didnt have him constantly talk.

Yeah it looked like "just another one" of those modern soulless remakes, and it's not like the original was fantastic at the first place... But it turned out to be amazing.

underrated

This. Would watch Henry over Wick anyday

Brawl in cell block 99

Beat me to it instantly. Saw John Wick after I'd already seen TMFN and was glad to find out after that the directors acknowledged the influence they took from that movie because otherwise it'd be almost close enough to be a straight rip-off.
Will also add Drug War which I'd at least call AS good as John Wick.
Lastly will throw in pic related. idk what critics thought but I see a good bit of negativity and indifference for it and I've been shit on for my opinion, but I can't think of an action movie from the whole century that, as far as the actual action, comes very close.

I'm not one of those Asian-obsessed people, but with a few exceptions from individual movies that's where the best action/thriller movies are being made. Would love to see more come from continental EU -- though Spain made a really fun murder mystery thriller (not action though) called The Invisible Guest that I'd rec (it's on Netflix iirc so if you're just bored and can't think of anything you're dying to see it's worth watching just for some mystery and excitement.
Would love any recs in that category of good-great action/thriller movies from continental Europe since 2000, maybe even 1990 btw

The night comes for us was fucking great

It was so boring and underwhelming despite the hype. I could hardly wait until it was over.
