dunno lol

They tried way too hard to rip off Universal Studios. But with the insane amount of work going on there currently, it might have a decent redemption arc if Star Wars land isn't total shit. Hollywood Blvd is still theme park heaven though.

It was originally a world showcase pavilion at Epcot devoted to Hollywood planned by (((Michael Eisner))). He didn’t care that it was out of theme. They moved it across the street and turned it into a movie studio to take advantage of tax benefits of shooting films in Florida which came along with Universal’s studios and park except Disney’s was garbage and you couldn’t go anywhere and the main attraction was a two hour mandatory walking tour that quickly became optional as they opened more facilities to the public and stopped using it as a studio after the tax benefits went away and nobody made movies in Florida.

Then they built tower of terror in the employee parking lot. Then they planned more attractions but ran over budget and left Fantasmic partly finished and both it and rock and roller coaster with trailers as break rooms for years. It was awful. They basically have scrapped the entire concept and the park is pointless

What the fuck is Grand Avenue?

Another shitty California ripoff, except more "modern" and with the Muppets sprinkled in. The only California anyone likes is retro 30's, 40's, 50's. Every other part of Californias history is utter retardation and faggotry.

>studio
>no actual production
whatever

>UPPIT-VISION 3D

Muppets? Yikes.

There was actual production happening at one point, but then fuckers in hollywood eventually found it rather impractical to film in a random themepark in Florida. Eventually all the shit closed, which is a shame because I fucking loved MGM studios, it was my second favorite park in Disney World.

Do you like maximum comfy?

Star Wars Land opens soon. It will make the park relevant overnight (actually, it's already one of the Top 10 most-visited theme parks on Earth).

Kill yourself shill. No one cares about nu wars.

>The Great Movie Ride
Unless it was made by Universal

That ride closed permanently recent.y to make way for a new ride.

>Kill yourself shill. No one cares about nu wars.
The inevitable double digit attendance increase says you're dead wrong. Star Wars is a brand-name regardless of your opinion of it, and people flock in droves for brand names.

Absolute retard.

AvatarLand still makes animal kingdom unvisitable during peak seasons because of the crowds. Fucking AVATAR land.

If you don't think Star Wars is going to make HS absolutely blow the fuck up you have another thing coming

jews

It's "another think coming."

It's "another twink cumming."

no foresight on disney's part and it's not just a problem in floride
think about it, what's gonna happen to guardians of the galaxy ride in DCA when it starts to lose its appeal? same is true for star wars land and rides like finding nemo subs, this stuff just doesn't have lasting appeal.

They'll just bulldoze them and replace them with whatever is popular at the time. Life goes on.

THEY CLOSED THE GREAT MOVIE RIDE REEEEEE

doesn't sound very money efficient to me

Finding Nemo is like 16 years old and is still selling merch. It's not going anywhere and is basically as classic as other disney movies which have had rides at the park for decades

Considering you use terms like "money efficient" I wouldn't be worried

There's still a fucking Bugs Life attraction in the huge ass tree they made in Animal Kingdom that still pulls in wait times that are astronomically retarded. Hell, Splash Mountain has characters from a banned fucking movie and it's still there. Disney still sells a shitzillion tickets and their "history" is always held in some weird reverence so it doesn't matter what the fuck they put there.

It's true, they're the kings of perpetuating aged brands.

Tower of Terror & Rock'n Rollercoaster are the best attractions in Disney World. fite me

I'll give you Tower of Terror.

Rock N Rollercoaster is great but after the queue it's too generic of a rollercoaster. Everest beats it with it's theming alone.

>Baby's belly go tickle
plz go

Been to WDW about 50 times, going there next week, unironically enjoy DHS plenty. Star Wars Land and hotel are going to be nuts. The thing about WDW is, it’s all nostalgia. Is there a reason to see Hall of Presidents for the 51st time? Or the Haubted Mansion? Fuck no, but it’s max comfy ride-kino and nostalgia. The SW rides will probably be “just fine” but the same factors that keep people going back for the same rides that have been there for 30 years will obviously bring crowds for anything new. Shit, Toy Story Land, based on a decades-old property and which consists of like, 2 mediocre rides and a counter service spot is crazy popular.

Kill yourself shill

I completely forgot about Everest. Yeah, you're right on that front.

The reason why Star Wars Land is gonna be massive is because it's the first real immersive Star Wars place you can go to at any time. Star Wars fans from every generation are going to be flocking there like you wouldn't believe. Even if it's just to stand on the Falcon.

Song of the South isn't banned... Its just never ever going to be circulated in the US again & Uncle Remus has been memory holed.

O3 :)

I want to fuck a Na'vi and I haven't even seen Avatar.

I agree, and that’s an obvious point, but my point is that even after the initial hype is gone and the SW fans have hit up the experience, people will still keep coming back even if it stays stale for 15-20 years with minor updates just because WDW has such a cult to it

Too many fucking Brazilians there

Oh for sure. I mean hell, the Indiana Jones stunt show it was packed when I went last year.

Not having Marvel stuff probably hurts.

It will help in the long run. Star Wars has far more long lasting appeal than capeshit.

>Even if it's just to stand on the Falcon.
Unfortunate that ride is gonna have severe capacity issues so it'll be a 7 hour wait

This. Disney is already raking in that Marvel dough in California and France. I think in the long run Disney world will be better off for everyone keeping it (mostly) out and using that space for different properties

Just hire one of those plaid vest guides

>7 hours
I have my money on 9+. Avatar has an incredibly rider per show ratio and even it still gets 4 hour lines years after opening.

The first year of Star Wars is going to be actually unvisitable. Like no exaggerating

In terms of theme parks, Eisner was better than Iger. I've said before that California Adventure was flawed (but not fundamentally) and suffered from budget cuts, and Eisner at least had ideas for actually different theme parks, whereas Iger just wants to make them extensions of Disneyland/Magic Kingdom (see Iger-era California Adventure, what happened to Maelstrom, etc.)

Nu wars land is fucked becuause they already lost most of the fans

Star wars, not nu wars

Yeah k

>Implying they won't retheme everything to Rebels/Empire in a decade

Eisner was very passionate about the parks, and being the first non-Disney CEO he was determined to portray himself as capable of creating the same magic Walt did. He was a business man at the end of the day, but I think he truely did understand what made Disney magical to so many people. It never felt like he was in it for the money at least on the surface. I always get a kick out of old Disney World videos seeing Eisner talk to the audience like Walt in World of Color. It's so endearing.

Bob on the other hand hasn't made a single decision that didn't feel like it was to make as much money as possible. ESPECIALLY for the parks.
He has no public image and he doesn't have that warm persona the old CEOs have. I have nothing but contempt for him and I pray whoever comes next feels a bit more personal.

That would be a way bigger job than you think. An entire 15 minute dark ride is based on the fact it's Resistance

>a few decals
>old helmets out of storage
>Emperor/Vader for Kylo Ren
naa

>He has no public image and he doesn't have that warm persona the old CEOs have. I have nothing but contempt for him and I pray whoever comes next feels a bit more personal.
Everyone mostly blames Eisner for what he did in the last 5 or so years of his era, but I do remember in the '90s how Eisner would introduce a lot of the TV specials, even Winnie the Pooh.
