Is it really that good or are people praising it simply because Miles is the main character? If it's actually any good, I'd like to check it out.

No. It's a Reddit meme flick.

It's unironically pretty good.

It's actually okay and there are so many characters that you barely notice miles until the very end when he turns into a mary sue and it all falls apart.

It is really that good. Peter B Parker is the best part

It's very good, definitely recommend it.

It's good

Why don't you fucking watch it Jesus Christ.

>Hurt everyone is saying it's good and other people are saying it's bad, why not make a thread where everyone is 50/50 so I can be more conflicted
What the fuck do you expect from this thread you stupid FUCK

turned it off after the Reddit-tier Peter Parker intro.

I don't think you know what a Mary Sue is.

It’s genuinely that good. No one would praise it just because of Miles because Miles is generally a very boring character. This movie changed that.

subhuman

Yes, and Yea Forums supporting it even with the woke pandering stuff is heartwarming to see.

it's not as good as people are praising it
It's super good 10/10 if you're only comparing it to other animated films or other super hero films so if it piques your interest definitley watch
But compared to actually good movies than I'd call it average

Why don't you just watch it and come to your own conclusion user

The anime girl is pretty cringe

He's not wrong though. Miles goes from "I can't really do anything, can barely swing, and have powers that I can't control" to "I'm fighting on levels the same as a veteran Spiderman of 2 decades and can take the same hit that killed the last spiderman and it only slowed me down"
They forgot there's usually an arc where the new spiderman is only reasonably competent and still learning. Also at the end Miles can also change gravity to suit his needs. So he becomes Gary Stu in the course of maybe an hour of movie world time or about 10 minutes.

*ahem*
I'm Spooderman! how does I physics?

Boy I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder

>Reddit
this is how you know it's good.
when criticism becomes this unintelligible.

Calling it reddit is not valid criticism.

Put it this way, it wasn't bad but anons literally think it's better than the Raimi films

why is it whenever i see a clip for this, the framerate is all shitty and jumpy?

It is. The Raimi movies did not age well at all. Especially Spider-Man 3.

Modernity has made me unable to enjoy a movie with a minority lead because I automatically think its forced. Expect Asians, but I'm not sure why.

I am a Raimi fan and those movies were never good

Miles is shit character because out-Mary-Sue's everyone out of nowhere, but the film is great overall. Especially the animation.

I can't blame you. You have to be 15 to have this opinion

it's 12 frames per second, how anyone stands watching this is beyond me

It's actually really good, though it has a low FPS which is a bit annoying.
Very unique style of animation.

Not the best Spider-Man film, but damn near.

That's the way it is
It's an animation style called "janky shit"

>movie that get's both /pol/ babies and tumblr landwhales into a rage fit
it's kino jim

unique =/= good

I agree user. They did the same thing in the vidya, miles is just a mary sue.

It's really great. Looks fantastic, sounds great, and has a pretty good story.

>writers wanted to kill peni inside her robot in the climax, but it was deemed too brutal for a kids movie
I feel so conflicted about what this movie was going for when it started production.

Its actually good. Diverse without shoving SJW bullshit down your throat. Legitimately one of the most visually impressive animated films I've ever seen. I'd put it up there with films like Redline or Ninja Scroll as far as animation quality goes. Any autistic fuck whining about the frame rate has no idea how animation works. Honestly I find this to be the best Spider-Man film.

Spiderman 2 is still really good

No the actual movie is good, it has a solid plot, VAs, humour, decent pacing. Then on the art side it is well made, with unique art style including comic book tropes like words for sounds.
I haven't seen any animation like that before.
Though the FPS and chomatic arborration are off putting.

It fucking sucked

>watch it before you judge it
>here's my 150 page thesis
>here's my 3 hour student film
>here's my two hour interpretive dance

It's good.

>can take the same hit that killed the last spiderman and it only slowed me down"

He was already dead. Getting shoved into that active Collider kills him outright in one of the early concepts.

I like how it roasts Raimi's 3rd spiderman film when Parker was doing his gay ass dance while dressed like a Linkin park reject

>I feel so conflicted about what this movie was going for when it started production.
It sounds like it was going for the comic Spider-Verse angle, which is fucking shit. Why did they think people wanted to read dozens of Spider-Man variants that they liked or loved dying? Who the fuck looks for a crossover and thinks, "yeah I want all the characters I like to eat shit"?

Timestamp on that is 2:25~. You can also see that they originally planned for it to be closer to the Ultimate comics with a teenaged Spider-Man that dies, going by the tombstone

That took balls considering one could say Into the spider verse was cringe

It was good but people will shit on it regardless, plus it was the only good Animated movie that wasn’t the usual Disney garbage

>can take the same hit that killed the last spiderman and it only slowed me down"
Blond Spiderman had the shit beat out of him and his guts scrambled by the collider, and had his entire rogues gallery above him, so there wasn't much getting out of that anyway
>They forgot there's usually an arc where the new spiderman is only reasonably competent and still learning.
Gee, you mean like the middle of the fucking movie? when he was swinging but not always, learning to climb etc.?

>So he becomes Gary Stu in the course of maybe an hour of movie world time or about 10 minutes.
the movie took place over few days. Like a lot of superhero origin movies
