Previously: What is found footage? Found footage consists of feature length movies, shorts, or webseries designed to have the look and feel of actual (non-fictional) filmed events that were lost and subsequently discovered and made available to the viewer. That is why it is the most creative subgenre ever to exist, with over 700 movies and counting!

HOW TO FIND FOUND FOOTAGE FILMS ONLINE: AN /FFG/ GUIDE
a) Download Sources from best (1) to worst (5)
1) Private Torrents (PTP, CG, and THC are the best for FF and THC is easy to join) 2) Private Usenet accounts (Get these from private torrents and private piracy forums) 3) Public Usenet (use Binsearch, get a free usenet account, slow but it works) 4) Public Torrents (use BTDB, torrentz2, zooqle, rarbg) 5) Public and private DDL (warez-bb, filehosts)
b) Streaming sites have quite a few. Type in google "[name of movie] 123movies"
c) Amazon Prime has a lot of them if you already have an account.
d) Ask /ffg/ for the ones you can't find using above methods. Remember to archive the rare ones for your fellow FF fans!
e) Here's a still-evolving pastebin of FF movies you can watch on Youtube. These are NOT recommendations! pastebin.com/HBBBdXPu
Saw The Devil's Doorway the other night, the middle 30 minutes are great.
Mason Green
I really liked that movie
Chase Flores
I liked it more than I expected but it had some weird problems like going over the top with some of the scares which kind of hurt the atmosphere I think. The knocking scenes in the younger priest's room were great but then there's like straight up ghost girls walking into the camera.
The paranoia and atmospheric parts were great though.
Jeremiah Davis
Any news on Livescream?
Ian Roberts
It's still in the festival circuit.
Matthew Peterson
I agree with you and I also liked how they filmed it on 16mm cameras
I just finished watching 909 Experiment. It was pretty decent. I liked the lo-fi feel.
Isaac Allen
my favorite skinwalker is the blare witch
Oliver Perez
what's up with trailers being only 30 seconds long now?
Brayden Nelson
yeah I enjoyed it
Evan Torres
What an awful thread. Why do you guys feel the need to constantly have a thread dedicated to something with such little content? Why not just have a chatroom?
Ryan Lewis
There is a lot of content though.
Chase Bell
why don't you go bitch about the off topic threads instead
it's called Laocoon and His Sons, I took a couple of art history classes and it's one of the only things that made enough of an impression on me to remember it a decade later. also apparently it's a Roman statue, based on Greek mythology. my bad. still pales in comparison to Mayuko.
shit... I knew I should've just left it alone and not searched for her.
instagram.com/mayuko.iwasa/ alright guys, I'm going in, I'll be back in a couple of days. unless it's possible to die from a semen deficiency, in which case I'll be dead.
yes, several of the shorts are good, particularly Safe Haven. plus A Ride in the Park (I think that's what it's called) was directed by Eduardo Sanchez (BWP).
Connor Barnes
based
Jose Evans
it's cropped a bit sloppily, but she cute nonetheless.
I need to stop taking screenshots. even with the quality settings lowered and them being jpgs, they're still so massive.
Jackson Thomas
I only liked Safe Haven from 2 and Bonestorm from Viral.
Jack White
you can tell she's single from the content of the pics
I remember Diary of the Dead being decent too. but Savageland was definitely a good one.
it's weird, I like zombies a lot (or did at one point). World War Z is my go-to comfy book that I re-read bits and pieces of occasionally, until the """movie""" ruined it. and I liked TWD comics a lot until the show ruined it. why does Hollywood destroy everything I love?
I didn't notice the "paranormal doll" initially, so it definitely is b8, but you can tell that they put in some effort, which I don't have a problem responding to, because it promotes on-topic discussion. it's worthless shit like "u redditor lol" that I refuse to acknowledge anymore.
he looked sweet with a flat top actually. maybe I should smooth out that version also. there were 4 or 5 different versions before I settled on those horns (or ears or whatever they are). I should find a better body without a gun too. I tried to cover it with a microphone, but I couldn't get it to work.
Ryder Butler
what up you can only go up from documenting the grey man been listening to 90s r&b today I feel like a boomer black chick lol
Blake Turner
Zombies are just over-saturated is all. I think Savageland was pretty good in that it being zombies was only important near the climax.
Elijah Smith
Nah lad.
SSS tier is absolutely fake documentaries about something.
But half of your list is dumb as fuck and I haven't even seen a found footage film about most of them or they're just too vague.
Absolute bottom tier though is going to an abandoned mental asylum.
Aiden Campbell
cool I can't wait to see other versions
Christopher Reyes
>SSS tier is absolutely fake documentaries about something. This, nothing can beat the pseudo doc format when done well. Hell even Last Broadcast is still well liked despite having the worst ending of all time because the documentary part was legitimately compelling.
James Bennett
Supernatural like slander man Creature monster like a werewolf
Andrew Hughes
Is Gonjiam like especially good or anything? I don't usually mind subs but for some reason subs + FF make me a bit motion sick so I haven't seen many FF films that aren't in English.
Jeremiah Stewart
sweet, I'm trying to sync my phone cuz I've got about 30 albums to add. and for R&B, I'd go with All My Life by K-Ci and Jojo and Untitled (How Does It Feel) by D'Angelo and Penitentiary Philosophy by Erykah Badu.
oh okay, that makes sense. I like Exists though and Crowsnest, if a truck counts as a monster hunting them.
also slander man kek >I heard you were cheating on your wife and your taxes! I'm SPOOKED
those are all good tracks so you still need to add those buck 65 records
Wyatt Murphy
good doesn't mean anything if you can't stand to watch FF with subs then you probably won't like it
Jayden Brooks
I liked it a lot but I like Asians more than I probably should. if you've seen Grave Encounters and you liked it, I'd say go for it cuz it's basically the Korean equivalent. I'm used to watching with subs on, I do it most of the time, even for English stuff. especially cuz I multitask a lot while I'm watching, so it's nice to have words I may have missed on screen.
and Jel too. they're on the list of things to transfer today, if my computer will let me. I need to take care of some other stuff before I even attempt it.
yeah jel has the instrumental album buck 65 makes his own beats and raps over them I'm listening to a jel on soundcloud and I'm not sure if it's his but there are instrumentals here either way
I like REC 2 a lot also actually and Noroi and Grave Encounters. and My House Walkthrough is up there too. Savageland is probably the best of the fake doc style FF. and mount Nabi is #1
Jayden Reyes
I recognize that actor who plays hoyt from somewhere
Nicholas Edwards
S Tier (fantastic examples of not just well-executed FF but also expertly balanced horror cinema in general) - The Blair Witch Project Noroi Leaving DC Savageland Lake Mungo
A Tier (Grade A FF and good horror, but slightly imbalanced in one area or another, though not nearly enough to detract from the enjoyment and talent) - [REC] Grave Encounters The Borderlands The Conspiracy Rorschach Occult Rorschach The Blackwell Ghost Phoenix Forgotten
Anything under this kind of just left my mind after I watched it, left no impact. For instance, I think The Triangle was good, but outstanding. The Endless or whatever it was called was just trash. Blair Witch 2016 is irredeemably bad, there's a good movie in there, but it's buried under a lot of shit.
solid list. I'd agree that those are all pretty much the upper tiers of the genre. I might vary my personal rankings, like I don't like Mungo as much but I would definitely include it in the top tier or two. although most of my rankings are based on personal enjoyment instead of any technical knowledge of film or screenwriting etc.
bigfoot/creature found footage is the best found footage prove me wrong
Henry Miller
fuck february is almost over and nigel didn't release a new episode...shit
Jason Rodriguez
He decided to make another Bad Ben movie so that got shelved.
Anthony Smith
fuck everything
Gavin Butler
one guy left the crew >"I'm going to the ER, then I'm booking a flight out of here and if you guys had like an ounce of common sense, you'd all come with me" that's real
Christopher Jones
I do appreciate when someone actually does just leave.
Mason Ortiz
I like when that happens in these films. Not like normal horror films where they don't just leave. It's pretty rare even in found footage.
that last shot was kino. skinwalker ranch was pretty decent.
Chase Morgan
Ugh you just reminded me that I just watched The Hunted with him in it like 2 days ago and it was so disappointing. Apparently it was directed by him for his directorial debut. I like him as an actor but he failed with the found footage.
Daniel Green
toma
Brody Jenkins
the fucking 1991 reebok pumps always ruins it
Kayden Taylor
I can't believe they used it for this movie. it wasn't that blatant though
>and I would add Creep to A tier. I'm too conflicted about Creep, on the one hand, Duplass' performance is incredible, but that reliance on red herring jumpscares, accentuated with that bump sound effect, really got on my nerves because there's better, weirder ways to get across that he had a freakish sense of humour.
Jace Baker
I disagree
Josiah Hernandez
I liked Frazier Park Recut a lot more than Creep
Isaac Hill
based contrarian
Aaron Mitchell
I guess it's contrarian but Creep never really did anything for me. I thought the emotional manipulation in Frazier Park was really smart and not something I've seen in any movies let alone a FF one. In Creep I feel like there was plenty of outs and red flags but in Frazier Park he was making the two guys suspicious of each other and put himself as the good guy from each other their perspectives.
Thomas Ward
I like both
Levi Carter
Why?
Ayden Peterson
Do you like Creep 2?
Liam Cox
Just watched savageland
so those were zombies and thats it right?
The scary photos gimmick was great but i spected more chilling images
Connor Bennett
yeah
Aiden Garcia
Those photos were pretty unsettling to me.
Isaac Johnson
I thought the photos were perfect, it's a real pain the ass shooting at night especially with a film camera and they didn't give away too much. They did a good job riding the ambiguity till near the end where it could have been some cult or gang or something.
Ryder Hughes
I guess showing the detail in the photos would have ruined the ambiguity of it all but there are legitimately scary ones in there that would have worked in the last 5 or so minutes as a shocker. Not a fan of that handcamera sequence at the end
The end of Savageland was kind of lame but it didn't ruin it for me or anything, just kind of broke my suspension of disbelief by being such a quick jump.
Ayden Morales
NEW EPISODE, BROS
>On this weeks episode, Chad Clinton Freeman (creator of PollyStaffle and co-creator of PARANOIA TAPES) joins us as a guest host. We talk about the film, E-Demon, and discuss the film on all levels.
>Also, we talk about the found footage film, The Rejected. Plus, in a new segment , we discuss the upcoming new releases on VOD, Amazon, Netflix and Hulu.
Did you guys get the ending? Salazar was one of the zombies.
Easton Wood
He literally appears as a zombie on screen dude.
Gavin Anderson
When? He's in the footage at the end.
Adrian Davis
Yeah he's the zombie that attacks the campers.
Gavin Cooper
woah
Charles Sanders
Thanks.
Juan Clark
I thought it looked like him but it made so little sense to me that i passed it off as the movie trying to be ambiguous or something
What sense does it make that he appears as a zombie at the end? Its all a goverment conspiracy to get rid of mexicans using special mexican zombies? Or was he a zombie all along and they are not zombies but tranforming demons or somthing. Either way that would make for an extremely retarded movie what otherwise would be a disturbing tale and thats it
Benjamin Hughes
That's what I was talking about, lad.
Charles Cooper
Then why ask when?
Samuel Green
Did you pay attention? The movie says some boyos dug up Salazar's grave and the body is still missing. They met something they didn't expect.
Why there's zombies doesn't matter, the movie is meant to be a heavily realistic take on how a zombie outbreak spreading into the US would be taken. The political angle is a front to show real human reactions in the face of something unbelievable.
Evan Fisher
Right, i forgot about that, doesnt really matter anyway. Thing is i think it would have been a bit better if it didnt show the video at the end and just saved the most revealing photos (when it closes up on some of the photos and straight up shows the zombies faces) for those final moments. The photos were scarier than the video, they leave much more to the imagination
>foundfootageradio.com/ I'm going to review this podcast since I just heard it for the first time.
1) Jack Hunter is a whiny faggot. He has no business doing a podcast.
2) They heaped too much praise on E-Demon. It was a decent movie. Not 10/10.
3) They rightfully called The Rejected a pile of shit, so there's a plus.
4) Their upcoming movie section has too many movies that everybody knows about. They didn't mention a single movie that hasn't come out yet. They should be talking somewhat in depth about titles that have yet to come out like Livescream.
5) Jack Hunter is the biggest faggot ever.
6) The rest of the hosts were fine.
7) Too much shilling for POV Horror. We get it. You're being paid to get customers. Just do one commercial.
8) A little too much small talk at the beginning of the podcast. They should fill the first part with upcoming movies and then go to the reviews.
9) Shut the fuck up, Jack Hunter. You sound like a fucking fag and nobody cares that you watch porn and you want to fuck every girl you see in found footage movies. Nobody wants to fuck somebody with your faggy voice.
4/10 Podcast
I bet /ffg/ could do a better podcast with just 2 of us as primary host and a guest host each week from /ffg/.
Samuel Watson
It absolutely does matter, because it's more immediate evidence that is regardless being denied because people are scared to admit the truth, because the truth is too outlandish. The photos were top tier creepy, but the 100% in universe confirmation is what the video is about. Salazar is confirmed dead, but there he is. You can't say that about anyone else for absolute sure in the movie, it's all Salazar's word and photos, but a video of him after his death is damning.
I can't do podcasts (besides JRE occasionally) I have enough shit to watch/listen to already. in fact I have so much, that I'm overwhelmed to the point where I don't watch anything because of indecision.
I also can't watch anything because iTunes is still adding my new folder more than 12 hours later lel
>Shut the fuck up, Jack Hunter. You sound like a fucking fag and nobody cares that you watch porn and you want to fuck every girl you see in found footage movies. Nobody wants to fuck somebody with your faggy voice. also kek, is he me?
The "zombies" in the movie are scarier when i dont exactly know what they are or how they function. I dont need to know they are conventional living dead, their faces are demonic and weird with sharp teeth so why give confirmation in such a genre convention as it is the fact that if you die you transform? Specially when you say nothing about their origin or give any other explanation of any kind
