i wonder how james cameron feels knowing his potential magnum opus was butchered
Hudson Jones
Watched Alita instead of the Oscars last night Rosa was fantastic, Alita was easy to root for, and the action delivered Hugo's actor was garbage, and I'm glad he got fridged Story was nothing special, but I wanna see more Alita Not quite as good as Sin City or Speed Racer, but washes the taste of ScarJo in the Shell out Viva Alita
>t. user who kept spamming literal cancer How's it feel knowing the janny keeps deleting your attempts.
Camden Hughes
It’s because this autist was seething about “muh shill marketing” in all the other Alita threads before that some anons made this general. Still being you can see that ir had not stopped him. It might be that he had mightmares about Alita slicing off his face.
Why don't you go hang out in your own thread in user?
Evan Martin
Зaпaн - yeбaн.
Lincoln Sanders
generals are not tolerated, they're cancer. They are where discussion goes to die as the same diminishing handful of faggots just keep repeating the same tired memes endlessly.
Oh wait, is that why you guys are so sensitive about the face tumor thing? You think its a triple entendre? You're cancer, generals are cancer, alita is cancer?
Aaron Lopez
Cut your fucking throat tourist
Daniel Baker
I actually got an email from Del Toro back when I was a mod on a Heboy forum on a comic film site. Someone asked about Nihei working on Hellboy. Del Toro said he was a huge fan of Blame! and Nihei's work. He clarified that he asked a jumber of artjsts for design work and Nkhei did a couple pictures of Kronen for the film.
Trouble is, Blame! makes Alita seem like Seasame Street. It is even further in the future and devoid of recognizable humanity. It is even more avant garde and out there.
I think you could adapt it fairly well, but best way to do it would be a dedicated director and a relatively small budget, relying largely on practical FX.
Camden Wright
>the CGI model is better looking than the actress It's finally fucking happening.
Jordan White
Kill yourself faggot
Adam Ward
>cyberpunk biopunk mecha harem movie in a colony ship hmmmm
ITT: My cute user think he will end Alita general with his valiant efforts. All generals will eventually die of natural causes, not by trolling which will contribute for its longevity. You have watsed your precious life with a stick up your ass.
Lucas Lopez
Wow racism
Nathan Ward
that viewer sure isnt gonna like the sequels if they come. Alita being an absolute bloodthirsty cunt is pretty much the rest of the plot
She was a convincing goofy teenager whose joy and hurt was believably sincere. Disappointed to find out Rosa has mostly been in YA crap that I'll never watch. Really need Alita 2 to happen.
Liam Williams
>cruel I had the luck of watching this in the cinema alone and on the row behind me there were families, little kids, middle aged men and women etc They found the film very brutal and uncomfortable at times, shocking, like the pupper scene or the multiple body mutilation and splitting scenes They loved the action sequences, like ooh and aahh They all liked Alita At the end they were so happy and were congratulating the one who suggested to watch Alita, because noone believed it would be so good It was interesting
Nicholas Long
Wow, Bob, wow.
Logan Hughes
I've been thinking thiz ever since I did a cyberpunk photoshoot for a photo class and used a Blame! costume and props I had. I also wanted to make a replica Alita as Ido found her, but I ran out of time and resources to make it. I joked that maybe I'd beat Cameron to it. Never did. Whelp.
Parker Baker
That is her character, she likes fighting and causing other pain, sadisms not really a common trait in heroes but it is something that would make sense for people who find themselves in the role.
Yeah but Alita just came out. You can pretend Blade and Spawn didn't exist before Black Panther because it'd been over a decade since either was relevant.
Alita just came out a week ahead of her, that hurts.
Where can I buy a bar that fucking thick? Goddamn it hurts every-time you post this.
Ayden Morales
Gonna go see it for the third time if my local kinoplex ix still running it by Thursday. I need to get further healing from Alita.
Jack Jones
>when its confirmed these are paid shill threads and mods are protecting them
Colton Richardson
Paul Bettany.
Noah Gray
I wish young JGL was Hugo instead of poor man's Colin Farrell x Haley Joel Osment. Dude was also a shitty rehash of Freddy Rodriguez from Planet Terror, same parkour moves and all.
Angel Morales
i'm honestly shilling this shit just to make alita posters look bad lmao
hell, according to you, its from a comic book for children
Easton Evans
Can't remember the Planet Terror stuff but I kinda liked the Hugo actor. JGL would have been too emo and the guy they got in to play Hugo pulled off the damaged bad boy rather well.
It has tons of implications and the shill shit in there is trolling, which is against the board rules, hence why it got deleted. Stop being a bitch, you deserved it.
I actually still used p2p with Direct Connect. Downnloaded all of Alita because I don't know where in storage my physical copes are. Tempted to get the new Kodansha editions though.
Zachary Lewis
>tfw no blaster knuckle movie Im surprised the west hasn't jumped on it, its about a black man killing KKK vampires
Bentley King
How is it working to elicit response from you? Everyone wants paid shills to go away.
Mason Brooks
get em quick, they're quickly becoming sold out. 2-4 week waiting time for them here in Yurop
Daniel Foster
huh. never did get around to reading that.
Luis Allen
at least you're not trying to claim Yea Forums is my secret club
Aaron Turner
No, I don't see why I would.
Caleb Ward
In dunno, try to be less obvious of a troll next time.
I actually went to the super market in search of chocolate bars and they didn't have anything near that thick. Every bar was this uniform about 1cm thickness. That bar looks like it's almost an inch thick.
I was actually looking into making a chocolate bar mold and melting down and then tempering my own chocolate just so I can recreate it.
My gameplan was, fashion the positive out of a block of wood, cover that positive with Silicone Plastique to make the negative, melt down like 5 chocolate bars in a double boiler, keep 3 bars in the freezer, then when the chocolate is 3/4ths of the way melted I take it off the boiler, break up the remaining 3 bars and start mixing them in and then I quickly pour that melted chocolate into the mold and hope it tempers properly. I'm still on the fashion the wood block into a positive phase. I'm trying to find some resource to use to estimate the exact dimensions I'll need.
You'll never understand what it's like to truly desire something.
>Joe Manganiello Only one that comes to my mind. Still, either cast an unknown or go with Cavill and trick around his height.
Brayden Morales
Qtpie
Liam Edwards
I actually think you'd just have to find the right actor with performance capture.
I couldn't even tell Grewishka was Jakey Earle Haley until I saw the credits. I thought it was some meat head looking dude. If you did a berserk movie both Guts and Griffith's impossible appearances could be done via performance capture CGI.
Jonathan Brown
I have watched it 3 times already I may watch it 2 more, I like it so much When people ask me I say I watched it only once
Wyatt Cox
Who would win in a fair fight: Alita or Rey?
Anthony Diaz
>Desty Nova >Desdinova Coincidence?!?!?!?!
no!!!!!!!!!
Hunter Martin
Alita can't do anything against Force users.
Mason Sullivan
if the questioning cross on zapans forehead and the imaginos body didn't tip you off yet I don't know what will
>the author considered color shifting around someone percepting light at impossible speeds I should read this thing.
Jose Hernandez
Alita.
Cooper Price
Alita has the ability to predict what someone will do right before they do it and she can move like 5 times the speed of sound Rey would die before she had a chance to do anything
Mason Diaz
Japanese people are autistic that way.
Austin Phillips
how was that explained again? She reads the electrical impulses in the body and reacts before the opponents muscles actually move? something like that, Jashugan explained it to her right?
Ethan Bailey
>Alita has the ability to predict what someone will do right before they do it and she can move like 5 times the speed of sound Can't jedi?
Eli Turner
Rey can bypoass compressors
Christopher Martin
it's the complete inverse, jedi knights are totally outclassed in speed, skill, power and ability to sustain injury. All they have are precog, but they're too slow to properly utilize it.
Easton Moore
Who would win in a fair fight: Alita or Captain Marvel?
Blake Baker
Predict yes, but I've yet to see a single jedi move at supersonic speed.
Chase King
Okay I chuckled.
Ian Murphy
You can't hack Gally, she's a person.
Anthony Rivera
>jedi move at supersonic speed I thought they moved at supersonic speed in Phantom Menace
Levi James
Who would win in a fair fight: Alita or Warhammer 40k?
Xavier Young
>I thought they moved at supersonic speed in Phantom Menace Chapter and verse?
Joshua Flores
She's not Primarch-tier so Warhammer comes out on top.
in personal combat alitaverse has things far nastier than most things in 40k, it just lacks scale
the chain fingers are like mach 1 and can tear through any kind of junkyard material like butter, and it was considered a legal weapon in a place that banned firearms and also is the most backwater place in the solarsystem
space had a guy who could create mushroom clouds with his fists and he was an irrelevant side character
Gabriel Ortiz
Could a primarch beat zekka?
Owen Bell
>a guy who could create mushroom clouds with his fists I CAST FIST
Nathaniel Sanchez
Hahahaha, no.
Matthew Reed
Captain Marvel
Noah Rivera
that is some The Flash tier shit there
Brody Reyes
Call me a retard, but I've been calling her Atila for a while
I really wish mom pants and 90s clothing wasn't in right now.
Ryan Campbell
Why do you assume the Japanese material was all that great?
Landon Roberts
will China save us?
>With a global total of $263.3M through Sunday, the expensive movie is looking to final at a worldwide cume above $400M, though getting to profit is still a tricky proposition. The current weekend grossed $92.4M in 82 markets and saw some good holds. France was off 29% for an $11.14M cume; Germany dipped 32% for $5.3M to date; and Australia held No. 1 to cume $5.3M so far.
>The international total is now $202.7M, which is bigger than Ready Player One (+3%) and The Maze Runner (+64%) at current exchange rates.
>Midweeks will help ascertain how front-loaded the film is. The question now becomes how high it can fly across the $100M Middle Kingdom mark.
Xavier Reyes
>overwhelming 94-95 user score on RT and in China >reviews almost conspiciously kept at 59% with critics who praise capeshit and Marvelshit giving Alita bad rep for the story Really gets your noggings jogging
It's a great fucking time. I've seen it twice. Hugo's a bit cringey, but otherwise it's fantastic.
David Rivera
>that moment when Cthulhu shows up and Demonbane one shots it It actually did a really good job of progressing its power level bit by bit to the point that the Cthulhu scene was completely believable while still being completely outclassed by Nyarlathohotep and the rest of the outer gods it was up against. Its power is ridiculous but well deserved.
Samuel Jackson
The Phillipines?
Landon Rodriguez
The source is self-evident. The same "critics" are assessing both.
Brandon Lee
But RT belongs to Comcast.
Robert Rogers
Doesn't matter. Critics don't.
Cooper Mitchell
Oh, I thought you had specific critics in mind. Carry on.
Cooper Baker
RT is just an aggregate. The "critics" are in others' pockets.
David Bailey
We can only hope.
Easton Young
Chicago Sun-Times.
Blake Brooks
>tfw movies like this and games like cyberpunk 2077 might cause a boom in cyberpunk popularity
I sure hope so, id love to see more good media using this kind of setting
>Hugo's a bit cringey I think I might have some kind of developmental disorder where I don't have as much of a problem with bad actors because I didn't have a problem with him yet I keep hearing people say that. I never knew people considered Anakin poorly acted for example and I still don't really see why. I didn't think the guy who played Hugo acted that great or anything but I didn't find him cringey. He seemed maybe more apathetic to what was going on than someone realistically would, but I interpreted that as part of his character. The guy literally dismembers people for a living so he's probably desensitized to a lot
Lucas Miller
She’s worse than cancer.
Colton Morris
DW you're on Yea Forums everyone here has a developmental disorder
Zachary Rogers
I just wanna say that one of my favourite things about the film is that never for a single second does Alita doubt that she can achieve what she needs to do. That kind of strength and force of will is really optimistic and provides inspiration IRL
The first guy I picked that gave it a 2/4 gave both Black Pander and TLJ 4/4. What more evidence do you really need?
Lucas Torres
She is riddled by doubts in the manga
Jayden Reyes
Same here. I'm actually pretty good reading emotions though, so not sure if I'm really the problem.
Oliver Johnson
To be fair, bad acting never really bothers me in action movies, but it takes a lot of people out of it. For me, *good* acting in something like Alita is just a bonus. He wouldn't stick out so bad were he not surrounded by so much god-tier talent. There are some really great performances in this movie.
Colton Gomez
There's an important difference between not knowing what the right path is and between believing you can't do it. It's a lot worse to have the second problem than the first
Adrian Wright
Agreed I think Rosa's acting for Alita was insanely good, really carries the film
Hayden was actually not the problem. George's set-work is. He's more of the visionary and technical director - he doesn't work so well with individual actors.
Justin Hernandez
My fear is that if they end up working on the sequel, they won't know where to start and where to end.
Jayden Morales
>Alita has now 2 double academy award winners in his casting top kek
If anything I think the dialogue was at fault (in AotC). The performances sure could have been better, but for the most part they worked.
Hudson Wood
>Alita has more academy award winners involved in it's production than any other movie in the past 18 years
Carter Evans
Ok watched this on Sunday. Nothing much to report that hasn't been said before.
Kids really liked the Shazam trailer, weren't so interested in the Captain Marvel trailer but they might have seen it before.
Also groups of teenage girls in the audience, but that might just be random - so don't start declaring this the big girls' night out movie yet. It was Sunday evening after all.
Liam Hernandez
>slavery was 200 years ago >get over it
Jesus Christ, Cameron
Camden Jones
I actually enjoyed the raw teen cringiness of Anakin's lines. Might have to do with me actually enjoying intentional cringe, and in this case enjoying unintentional cringe.
Alexander Mitchell
How much money did it make so far?
Bentley Carter
260mill
Tyler Thompson
Only part I had problems getting through was his interaction with Padme when they see each other again on Coruscant after years.
>Estimates vary for the total worldwide gross the film needs in order to break-even, with Fox insiders claiming $350 million but outside financial publications claiming around $400–550 million
Colton Stewart
>Alita doubled revenue in a single weekend in Asia It'll break even easy but that'll never be enough for you shills. You'll just keep pushing the number higher and higher.
Thomas Price
Since the OVA never reached the later stuff, I think it would be best if they did Vol. 3 and 4 stuff in like 30 minutes and then 90 minutes of Vol. 5 stuff.
Alita has only made $56.00 gross in Colombia so far, which is far from the 600 trillion dollars it needs to avoid having the entire cast and crew frogmarched into Mexico.
Mason Evans
With flan.
Colton Perry
My flip-flop! Do you know where I can get it back?
So I think I noticed something, near the end of the movie when Nova drops the slap chop down the tube to kill off Hugo and Alita, the panel he uses looked and operated just like the one Alita used to get into the armor room on the URM ship. If they won I guess they'd have no issues salvaging URM tech if it was superior but it looked the same to me, and Alita was Mars property to before she got tossed down the garbage chute.
Caleb Gonzalez
Who is this being applied to in this context and what stage we at?
Adam Lewis
My new passion is enjoying the new energy that this movie has given to the Gunnm following. It was my introduction to Manga, and i witnessed its popularity at its height and its death. Its gonna make the money its gonna make, and if we get a sequel we get a sequel. i'm ambivalent on the movie, but it wasn't bad
Not really, only autistic people will notice anything is different. If you really care that much you can painstakingly edit the old translation onto the new higher quality scans from the new translation.
>If you really care that much you can painstakingly edit the old translation onto the new higher quality scans from the new translation. Hell, I might do just that
please get a sequel this was the only action movie in years that felt like it was sure of itself and not just imitating the mouse.
Nolan Wilson
If you do be sure to release it so everyone can have access to the new definitive version. Oh and if you're really focused on it try to fit the movie/new translations naming scheme to keep everything consistent going forward.
Dylan Reed
Alita wins our hearts
Elijah Gomez
gimme a tl:dr Is it the tower name autism? the gally/yoko/alita autism?
Jason Ward
Deep down you know I am correct.
Nathaniel Moore
How can Alita predict her opponents attacks, yet she is always attacked from behind?
To be fair, I think this cucked a good chunk of the interest to see Captain Marvel
Benjamin Cruz
She likes it from behind?
Xavier Reed
She's weak to anal.
Zachary Reyes
Deadpool was enjoyable, even if it's more of a comedy thing than an action thing.
Noah Walker
Yeah, I think I'll do that: >"Grewishka" instead of "Makaku" (from the old translation) >"Zalem" instead of whatever it was in the old translation etc. Where should I release it? Besides TPB/nyaa.si/rutracker.
