What a shitty fucking season

what a shitty fucking season

i know reality hurts user.

im not on ur side btw.

>people actually think this is better than Season 2

Its miles better, not even a competition.

just a disappointing finale is all tbqh senpai a great season overall.

The last episode really wasn't that bad content wise. it was a satisfying conclusion to all the stories but it felt a little bit rushed and they treated it all as major revelations when it was all just pieces falling into place. But not in a way that wasn't obvious. Its like when you have an easy puzzle and you're just slapping the obvious conclusion together. Like hey Rolands sad and he gets in a fight and now he loves dogs, oh here's what old one eye was doing in the background, not to mention ghost amelia basically telling the audience julie is still alive.
I feel like if they cut about an hour over the season it would be a 10/10. In retrospect the interview setup didn't have to be done, the interviewer added nothing to the plot and neither did his son's affair. Also that pedo they beat up in episode two was also a waste of time.
Overall i loved the atmosphere and tone of the season it was a really comfy and captivating ride. This season shined in rural ambiance and i liked the 3 timelines, especially the more they blended as the story progressed. The relationship of Wayne and Roland was the main draw for me. Some great performances they played off each other well and at the end when they're bros again it felt like it earned the emotion. Steven dorff was a stand out and the guy who played tom also did great hope emmy noms come from that. And i was satisfied with the season

eat shit retard

what a compelling counterargument

it was a mediocre season with a shallow 2 hour story stretched into 8 hours of content

The one thing i agree with you on is that it should have been cut down. but unlike season 2 mostly everything comes together and it feels whole.

Season 2 felt like throwing as many crime noir cliches with random ideas all mashed together in a mess of dead ends and red herrings

More like 5 episodes. There's a tight story in there somewhere. They should have amped up Wayne having hallucinations that feel like ghost hauntings, the time fuckery and maybe a surreal af sequence with old Wayne talking to young Wayne, add in some Vietnam stuff, and massively tone down the shit he had with his wife, and maybe more modern day investigating with Roland rather than talking to the tv people.

>the time fuckery and maybe a surreal af sequence with old Wayne talking to young Wayne
That would have been hacky and crap, i dont even really liked him talking to amelia. But i would have liked more timeline blending. Like old wayne playing a conversation that happened in the 80s or 90s.

>maybe more modern day investigating with Roland rather than talking to the tv people.
This i would have loved, more old bros solving squad

>and i liked the 3 timelines
Them rolling around as old men doing vigilante investigating was absolutely absurd. Detective Hays was so obviously written as a white man but then the Jews at HBO were like "we need diversity" and made him black. Oh and that way we can have a storyline about good ol'boy bigotry and how a good black detective was held down by systemic racism. What the fuck was up with roland saying he'd be MORE likely to shoot white people that surrounded his car? He didn't even provide reasoning or explanation. The shitlibs and kikes that wrote that just felt it was obvious. "Of course he'd be more likely to shoot white people than sweet poor blacks. Wicked whites deserve to be shot for questioning police authority but when blacks do it it's folksy and endearing."

His wife was obviously written as a white woman also. I'm surprised they didn't shov an interracial couple down our throats. Small town girl moves to the west coast to get a taste of big city life and then moves back home to become a teacher. That's like white girl 101.

The ending was satisfying. I like how they threw in the possibility of Julie being alive and happy. That was interesting. Still the worst season of the show by a large margin. I liked Vince Vaughn.

>they didn't shov an interracial couple down our throats
Hays son fucked the blonde interviewer, not that I expect you to remember it since it had no importance whatsoever. God pizza is such a fucking hack.

>What the fuck was up with roland saying he'd be MORE likely to shoot white people that surrounded his car?
Because he knew it would cause a scandal and he'd be perceived as another racist trigger-happy cop with no reservations about shooting up black neighbourhoods. Christ, you're stupid. It was damn obvious what Roland's reasoning was.

Based af if this is bait. I'm having a hard time deciding whether you're simply a raging brainlet or wise ass that knows how /pol/tards think and write and is posting this for the (You)s.

>What the fuck was up with roland saying he'd be MORE likely to shoot white people that surrounded his car?
Thats pretty obvious actually. He was making a comment about how if a crowd of whites did it then when he unloaded on them there would be no questions of it being a racially motivated shooting whereas a mob of blacks would have been a media firestorm.

The rest of your post was just utter garbage and doesnt really have anything to do with anything

>Because he knew it would cause a scandal
Why would it cause a scandal in the "racist" deep south in the early 80s? We're supposed to simultaneously believe theres systemic racism holding Hays back and a white cop shooting some rowdy threatening niggers would cause a scandal? You're applying modern race relation morality to a vietnam vet cop from the 80s. There's literally no reasonable explanation for a white man to say he'd be more likely to shoot white people surrounding his car besides twisted shitlib morality. Jesus christ you're stupid.

>blacks would have been a media firestorm.
You and the other guy are both dumb as shit. You're applying modern race relations to 1980s Arkansas you dumbass. There was no Black Lives Matter then. No one would have questioned it if a cop shot a nigger.

By youre retarded logic the birmingham church bombing wouldn't have been a big deal because it happened before the civil rights movement in a more racist south.

Think about how stupid you sound right now

Church bombing is totally the same as an officer involved shooting when niggers threatened him and smashed his car. You have a very low IQ. I'd be shocked if it was over 90. Absolute brainlet.

Not either of those guys, but since the late 70's things were pretty much the same as today across the country. Despite all the virtue signalling there's no permanent escalation or de-escalation of police shootings.

Attached: Police-Killings2.jpg (550x457, 44K)

I can tell you're a brainlet zoomer, the late 80s were full of stories about police brutality and it was the height of the crack boom and i remember tons of media stories of obsessive force

Why not man? It was before civil rights. I thought we had "evil whites" daily lynching and beating blacks. How would a few dead blacks in a church be a big deal?

You're applying modern day race relations to 1963

I liked because it was an interesting reflection of how character flaws, best intentions, and burying the truth leads to disasters and even greater fuck ups. I was never going to accept super global pedo cult with how obvious the screw ups were at all levels
>Crazy bitch is crazy but also rich
>People try to help her but just enable her self-destructive behavior to hurt other people
>Cops are willing to cover up shit for a variety of reasons
>Many cops act like cowboys because they have major chips on their shoulder
>DAs are stupidly political and look for a rapid conviction and good press
>True crime novelist and reporters keep unsolved cases alive over the years but often at best uncover grains of truth with bullshit conclusions
>Police officers who covered up crimes will have to continue to make compromised decisions to keep the cover up going
>Personal relationships and issues often have impacts on how work is conducted
All this and more can lead to a bunch of people who think they have the answers just projecting their own bullshit on things.
Tom was the real tragedy and crime, and everybody even Rolland abandoned him. Rolland only had other strays until the end

First off the show was set in 1980 so whatever happened in the late 80s is not really relevant and crack didn't really take off until the 90s. There were no National News stories about police brutality in the 1980s you fucking liar. Maybe in LA. Maybe but I seriously doubt even that but certainly not in rural Arkansas. Police brutality against Blacks was absolute NOT part of the country's dialectic in 1980. Stfu.

>We're supposed to simultaneously believe theres systemic racism holding Hays back
I dont remember this happening in the show. I remeber hays being screwed because he didnt go with the offical story not because he was black.

Infact i recall old man wayne looking at the white reporter like she's retarded when she starts talking about intersectionality

Lol so dumb

Im using you're argument tactic to show how flawed it is. You're too dumb to see your own fallacy

He references several times whe talking to roland and his wife about being black hurts his career options. He looks at the reporter like she's crazy because he's an old man and doesn't know shitlib lingo like intersectionality.

No you see user when a frustrated prideful character who knows himself so little his whole life can be defined by doing what he thinks they want bitches about perceived slights due to his race his word is supposed to be taken as 100% social commentary. Not a prideful black man that puffs himself up and looks for any defense mechanism to hide how lost he really is, but instead a vehicle for social commentary

Wtf are you talking about? Are you drunk?

>you're
your*

This is an example of the proper use of you're: You're a low IQ brainlet.

>Look for a distinctive looking guy,get it wrong once, never find him
>Beat up a random pedophile
>Never put the alky mom in the box, despite numerous shady affairs/connections
>take a ten year break.
>Never dig deeper into obviously staged suicide
>shoot your only lead in a barn
>basically admit it
>Take a 20 year break
>Find the bad guy when your wifes ghost tells you
>also basically everything was fine anyway so your efforts were pointless

COOL DETECTIVE SHOW.

>Detective Hays was so obviously written as a white man but then the Jews at HBO were like "we need diversity" and made him black

This reminds me of 'whose dog did Jesse shoot' threads.

>implying this is the work of the Jews and not the fact that a white Italian can't write a good southern black man.

>but unlike season 2 mostly everything comes together and it feels whole.
Everything came together in 2. Sadly you lack the intellecual capabilities to see that.

>and it feels whole
Did 2 feel bad, because good guys lose and mean bad guys win?

Lol

Anyone else love Roland's character development?

What development? Hes a glorified manlet sidekick.

No not really. That biker would have beat the shit out of roland. How ridiculous. They tried to make him a tough guy at the end lol

So is this shit worth watching?

If you liked 1&2 you can skip this one.

Lol, I mean it's hard to argue against this.

Honestly the biggest flaw looking back is no pressure on that piece of shit trailer-trash drunk whore of a mom. Cops would have leaned on her hard and she would have cracked open like a rotten pumpkin and immediately confessed to selling the kid.

Considering watching it. Is there any political or race baiting bullshit these kikes can’t help but put into everything now? If so, fuck this shit.

I thought 1 was kino, didn't bother with 2

Here's some art I did of Season 2's Finale, do you prefer it to the abysmal 76mins Nic just made you waste?

Attached: True_Detective_Season2_Low2.jpg (969x636, 242K)

>implying that the italian guy didn't just turn in an outline and then the producers and director, which are Jews, dont have final say on casting decisions.

Good southern black guy my fucking ass. Niggers dont hunt and they certainly aren't highly trained commandos that can stay alive in the jungle for days at a time. Purple Haze my fucking ass. Oh and he's an animal lover. Yeah real soft spot for foxes. Dont shoot the fox Roland. My negro sensibilities are kicking in. He was so obviously supposed to be a white man in the first draft.

don't bother with 3 either

The main problem is the lead character was originally written white and feels white, but the actor, who is black, convinced the show runners to cast him so they wrote in the additional racial tension stuff. I personally thought he did a good job and so did Dorff but I would be lying if I said the character didn't feel 'off' because of this. It did.

>your brain on /pol/

Not to mention that she was the obvious weakest link. He was clearly not involved.

Also lets not forget how incompetent the wife was. The second I figured out the whole thing was when White's wife comes to visit the Purcell wife and tells her "you can talk to that detective anything". The Purcell wife immediately changes expression and becomes highly hostile.
If she was smart enough to write a book about the case, she would have told him and as you said. THEN the cops would have interrogated an alcoholic for 15hours straight. She would have folded very quickly.

Season 2's finale was miles better -

Vince dead man walking through all his old foes
Ray doing a shoot retreat, shoot retreat that was working but he decides to stop doing that and die instead.

>obsessive force

Attached: never give up, never bring friends.jpg (569x802, 109K)

not bad, you should draw the dream scene.

It is people are just mad it didn't end with Rust and Marty joining together to take down Bill Clinton

People are mad because it was mostly filler and bad character development that culminated with a five minute scooby doo quick rundown of events.

>Stupid Female book side mission
>15 mins each episode for Domestic dispute with a forever bitching unhappy wife

>people are just mad it didn't end with Rust and Marty
Do they ever show up this season? If they do I might watch it

based redditor

>shoot your only lead in a barn
>basically admit it
>Take a 20 year break
Did you miss the part where Hoyt threatened his wife and family?

>black Rust, who's only characteristic is that he is a Vietnam war vet and drinks alot
>manlet sidekick, who doesnt even get a single personal moment, since there is not enough time, due to the amount of filler
>3 timelines, for more filler
>the wife clearly was involved, yet not single cop bothers to interrogate her
>the Purcell wife worked at the Hoyt farm
>the black man worked at the Hoyt farm
>the detective who worked on the crime scenes later went on to work at the Hoyt farm

This wasnt True Detective. This was true incompetence.

That was some Noir Kino though that explored life, death, and birth and its impact on everyone

>Tom was the real tragedy and crime
Agreed. In many ways they avenged Tom but can't ever piece that together

>He references several times whe talking to roland and his wife about being black hurts his career options
And everytime the show goes out of its way to depict him as wrong. Hays was never a victim of racism, he was simply a uppity fucking N

The twist ending though. I can't believe Hayes was a nigger THE ENTIRE TIME!!

Roland going full anime was the best part of the finale

The ending was Hayes life flashing before his eyes as he dies, his ghost wife even said so "a story that is told and just goes on and on until it heals itself "

>no femme fatale
>noir kino

pick one, my nigger

>The part when Hayes lies and says they'll still hang out while Roland knows the truth

Genuinely a sad moment

did (((they))) get to Pizzahuto?

S2 finale > S1 finale > S3 finale

utter TRASH

Can i get a quick rundown?

>honestly and really fucking thinking that S3 was better than S2
Holy fucking shit how cucked can you possibly get. The writing was good in S3 and it wasn't a bad season, but that doesn't make it better than S2.
1 > 2 > 3
