so who was in the black sedan in 2015?

don't care what you niggers have to say, shit ending or not it was still better than S2

The one eyed nog

god

kys brainlet

Ummmmmm fuck no.. Season 2 was way better. Better character development. There was no main character fighting with his wife constantly..

It was Hays, you see, time is a flat circle

if it dropped the gay cop and was less coy about the Bohemian Grove S2 would be at least a 9/10

reminder that pizza is a 6d chess playing genius and totally not lucking out

Attached: FcpI.gif (500x220, 911K)

Why was the ending song fortunate son? Didn’t seem to fit the theme

wrong, youre a faggit

You guys just don't understand detective kino.

We're supposed to feel like the show has no plot and is going nowhere, this is meant to make us feel the same lack of direction and constant sense of being lost that Hays felt.

The cliffhangers are meant to build up to nothing, because it emulates the frustration of being a real detective: you get up all excited about a clue, but turns out it's just a false lead.

The scenes between Amelia and Hays are meant to be repetitive and annoying, because that's what being stuck in an unhappy marriage is like. They, too, want to "opt out" of fighting each other, but can't seem to stop. It's a cycle.

The show is meant to feel poorly written, because it reflects the improvised nature of most real crimes and their cover-ups, it doesn't all make sense and it's not all planned beforehand.

The several leads and subplots that are simply forgotten about are there for a reason: to make us see the world through Hays' eyes, where he feels like he left everything behind, untouched, unable to investigate it.

It feels "dull" and "boring" because it's trying to show us how obsessed Hays and Amelia have to be to carry through with this investigation for decades.

The solution for the crime is meant to be predictable, because it's teaching us about intuition.

It's all meant to be disappointing and make you feel let down, because that's what life is about.

most people seem to think it's a metaphor for him walking into his relationship, hard and confusing. and just like we know he got out of nam we know he'll make it through marriage.

personally i just thought it was showing the viewer were he started from and how he ended up.

>be Pizza
>dream of writing episodes for CSI
>spend literal years writing a single episode story
>get your big break at HBO
>embelish your story with some random shit you read on a 2$ book you went through while in the waiting room
>cast romcom poster boy and le funny guy for your big breakthrough in police drama
>they act the shit out of their roles and the audience starts reading too much into the random dialogue you threw together
>have to keep up a franchise when all you wanted was to write episodes for NCIS
>pour your heart in s2 to change people's minds
>they hate it
>feel caged in a franchise you hate
>turn into Rian Johnson for s3

Attached: pijust.jpg (315x307, 11K)

why did you feel the need to post this again

I was expecting more. But as a slice of life, time and place contained tale with a nog main, it was not bad and kept my interest.

Season was groundbreaking (buzzword) television. This was just entertaining.

that's what a true detective would do

is it cause time is a flat circle dad?
hmm is it cause time is a flat circle rust?

I'm so glad pizza listened to his retard critics and developed a super deep female character, it TOTALLY didn't detract from the season and go fucking nowhere

Shit mystery spoiled by 3rd episode, and an absolute waste of incredible performances. Really disappointed

>turn into Rian Johnson for s3
I feel like this is a companion piece:
>set up a murder
>lol it was an accident

>set up political involvement and conspiracy
>lol it was a coincidence

>set up occult connections
>lol it was just the sister being retarded

>set up ominous negro
>lol he was a good guy

>set up police involvement
>lol he was a just a guy helping out

>set up pedo rings
>lol the journalist's retarded

>set up richfag mastermind
>lol he had non clue

>set up runaway children getting abused
>lol it was a ruse by the nuns, he was a good guy actually

>set up manipulative wife
>lol she was the true detective all along

Am I the only one who caught the hints that this series was actually just a brief hallucinatory thought loop in the mind of Elon Musk after he smoked that blunt on the Joe Rogan show?

Attached: mars_horizon.jpg (320x163, 26K)

wasnt there supposed to be a vietnam action set piece? any other big action set piece at all?

is this at all believable now?

or did too much dropped plotlines so a couple could argue more give you some doubts?

Attached: pizza's hands are tied by HBO.jpg (916x429, 171K)

dorff, ali, and mcnairy were fucking great and made this season worth watching as far as i'm concerned. also damn good opening theme.

I didn’t get the impression they were in an unhappy marriage at all. Are you retarded. The show focused on their worst rough patches and it was still smooth as butter.

>Why was the ending song fortunate son?
Time is a flat circle you see. It could only end with that song, it was predetermined.

Who killed Dan?

Who killed James?

more like FALSE DETECTIVE
AMIRITE FELLOW 4CHANNELERS
JK I LIKED IT, ITS JUST SOME OF YOU GUYS ARE ACTING LIKE FAGGITS

Naw we were all expecting a Vietnamese flashback episode 7 and pizza was fucking with us.

So how did the red haired Hoyt security dude get his cushy overpaid job if he wasn't involved in a conspiracy?

>lawnmower man was the key to the mystery again
why is pizza so obsessed with lawns

>is this at all believable now?
has time stopped being a circle?

Stop posting reddit shit. Go talk over there,

You guys just don't understand Yea Forums comment kino

We're supposed to feel like the comment has no substance and is going nowhere, this is meant to make us feel the same lack of direction and constant sense of being lost that Hays felt.

The paragraphs are meant to build up to nothing, because it emulates the frustration of being a real detective: you get up all excited about a clue, but turns out it's just a false lead.

The sentences about the scenes between Amelia and Hays are meant to be repetitive and annoying, because that's what being stuck in an unhappy marriage is like. They, too, want to "opt out" of fighting each other, but can't seem to stop. It's a cycle.

The comment is meant to feel poorly written, because it reflects the improvised nature of most real crimes and their cover-ups, it doesn't all make sense and it's not all planned beforehand.

The several duhhhhhr thing that are simply forgotten about are there for a reason: to make us see the world through Hays' eyes, where he feels like he left everything behind, untouched, unable to investigate it.

It feels "ryjfdhhdvj" and "gay" because it's trying to show us how obsessed Hays and Amelia have to be to carry through with this investigation for decades.

The solution fordru tfcfdve is meant to be predictgufable, because it's teaching us about intuition.

It's all meant to bandersone g and TV make you feel ylet down, because that'sbhi what life is about

Yeah I agree. Quite a bold direction for pizzaman to take.

IM NOT CHANNELING SHIT FAGGOT
i liked it too

hoyts crazy daughter got in a car wreck and he was first on the scene

A landscaper must've banged Pizzaman's mom or something.

he's a true boomer

So the black guy with one eye gave Julie AIDS?

>IM NOT CHANNELING SHIT FAGGOT
YOU SOUND FUCKING DRUNK AND RETARDED, RETARDED PEOPLE SHOULDNT DRINK
UR MOM GAY

yeah but the subversion ultimately tie into the underlying theme of season 3 and true detective for that matter albeit not always satisfyingly.
Last jedi was subversion for the sake of.

is that you pizzalatte? or just Rian Jonson?

So did he actually kill Tom? I'm guessing he thought Tom was just some random intruder?

>reddit's here to defend this shit
Oh well, It was about time I went to bed anyway.

My deep problem with the show: the old timeline

Roland played a believable old man.

Hays was over acting and I never bought his old man bit. Meanwhile his amnesia as a plot device was incredibly faulty and I was constantly breaking the fourth wall with interpretations. Basically the nogs old man acting was totally off and ruined the show for me.

I know people with dementia and I felt no simpatico to what hays was experiencing. Felt totally like bad acting.

scary

Attached: Untitled.png (1920x1080, 1.53M)

>tfw im a landscaper

What crime have I committed, Yea Forums?

final scene should've been Mike Ardoin revving the engine of his lawn tractor as the opening notes of Thunderstruck start playing

yea he killed him cuz he found the pink room

>Hays kept going because he wanted to know what happened to the keeds
>West kept going because he wanted to know what happened to his boyfriend

He was never an oldman the plot twist is that time is flat circle and Hays was just predicting what his life as an oldman would be like.

The truth is that he died on episode 5 during the shoot out

Sinner s1 did the exact same thing better

>everyone who disagrees with me is reddit
its bedtime for this pretentious bitch lol
i bet you love twin peaks

So the son was a Hoyt crony right? Was probably going to kill that family and tie up that loose end

I think Pizza Latte just likes throwing up a bunch of different clues and leads and stories to get people guessing, make it difficult to distinguish relevant information from irrelevant information, so the actual reveal will come off as a surprise.

He needs to worry less about that and more about making a good story, because this is clearly interfering with the writing process. The daughter subplot is an obvious example: you're obviously lead to believe something went wrong there, and Pizza clearly gave this so much thought that he felt we'd be like "Oh, there's his daughter! And they like each other! Wow my expectations were subverted again!" in this episode, but instead it just feels like a flat storyline that went nowhere. The hints of pedophile rings didn't make the actual crime a nice twist, it just made you wonder why we wasted so much time with that. Pizza is trying to be a clever writer, but he simply isn't.

The inderlyinf theme of season 3 is incompetence. Everyone was either unable or unwilling to solve an easy case. I would be ok if Pistoletov didn't go so over the line with the subversions. Throw a couple of red herrings here and there but when every single piece of evidence is false it kind of feels forced. Not to mention everything that was left hanging. Let's face it, we got Shyamalaned.

I disagree
The "no plot" and "going nowhere" is neatly encapsulated at the end with the jungle scene, everything the viewers saw from 1-8 was the jungle of hay's mind, his realization through hallucination-amelia was the proof that, especially when she convinced hays that amelia was alive as mike's wife

the moral of the old-hays arc isn't about solving crime or but rather why anything requires a second to collaborate for you and why his solo meeting with his intended target, julie, is so telling
the separation between old-hays and old-west can imply that what happened cannot be collaborated and as audience you can question the validity of old-hays findings about the case

when he found the brother he climbed out, got on top and called for support
but when he found the sister, he was lost called his son, but they never showed his son, who had been roped in to be part of his, to be in that scene
later on he looks at the address and the scene was cut, any meaning can be taken from that, including that what happened at the address didn't really happen

old-hays already read his wife's book many times, the most recent timeline is about him creating that love-story ending

this isn't real life, this is the jungle of a man with dementia

kino
DELET

Naw don’t be a niggerfag. I’m calling out bad acting where I see it.

pizzaman really had a hard-on for scene transitions this series.

>the son was a Hoyt crony
wheres the evidence
what would even make you think that

Based and Boomerpilled

Attached: boomer.png (1876x1200, 80K)

>amelia was alive
julie*

>gravestone for fake aids death
>put "AID" right in the lettering
those are some cheeky nuns

The bar scene and dog scene were cheap as fuck emotional manipulation tropes, and pizza knows it. It felt like lazy writing when I watched it and pizza knows it.

So that's what that means? The pedophiles gave aids to lost (kidnapped) children?

Are the nuns trying to tell us something about the church through tombstone messages....question mark.

Feel free to answer to anyone who posts his grievances with the ending. I'll check back tomorrow to see if there are any satisfying answers.

i felt real sorry for west when hays was packing up to leave and west was just left standing there alone. show should've been more about them rather than hays and his bitch wife.

>History of Hoyt paying off cops
>son is deceitful (cheating on his wife with a white wimmin)
Probably paid to monitor his dad. He kept the adress of the ardoin family

>finale is longer
>Hoyt had nothing to offer to the story
Pizza is a hack.

probably got it sharing needles

So next season should be about yella king pedo rape cultists, right?

GODDAMN!!!!

Attached: 489302321.png (706x414, 52K)

>there is a faggot in this thread who wants his criticisms to be taken seriously all the while saying "pizzaman" this "pizzaman" that

The pedophile ring was a red herring. It was the KURAZY HWYT WOMYN all along.

...

thats retarded
youre retarded

what a shitshow. pizza you fucking hack

I watch something like Silence of the Lambs because it's so over the top and unreal and not like life. The same with Hannibal the series, and True Detective S1.

upvote

Attached: orang-suffer.jpg (1024x684, 553K)

It was very manipulative of Pizzalottery to cast Michael Rooker in such an insignificant role. Nigga played us like a fiddle.

good job!

pure bravo shit right there

I was refering to father Hoyt.

with carcosa now

Hey that's pretty good.

Attached: riker pondering.gif (403x302, 1.82M)

you sound like a dumb mook. He's far more likely to believe his father went to this address for a good reason, and will end up investigating it himself/with the interviewer. There's absolutely no connection between Hoyt and the son, especially considering the state of the Hoyt household in 2015

*your

Hoyt is dead and the daughter is dead, who the fuck would be paying him at this point?

If they get another season, which I doubt, I'd say so.

Season 2 was Pizza saying "hey I'm not all about cults and edgy characters, I can write serious mysteries haha" and failing miserably. Then in Season 3 he backtracked and incorporated enough Season 1 elements to make it watchable, but the ratings are low and everyone seems to have hated the finale, so if he gets a Season 4 there will be even more backtracking. I bet you it will be a soft remake of Season 1.

>criticises people for calling out reddit
>no ur the reddit
Eat shit.

Attached: nou.png (907x267, 9K)

The soundtrack was really good this ep, some of it was also used in S01 finale

it really isn't

should've used based Jerry Reed's version of St. James Infirmary at the end
youtube.com/watch?v=yEF2kHdvJFo

Attached: jerry-reed.jpg (225x224, 8K)

My biggest problem with the season is that they couldn't find the one eyed nigger in 1980. He was the key to the entire mystery.

He has a distinctive look and he was out doing shit for the Hoyts. Can't be hard to find for a True Detective.

Attached: 1539492709949.jpg (1920x1029, 542K)

ok? with this post all youve proven is that youre a butthurt redditor who goes to the trouble of doctoring screenshots like a child

You don't get it, Pizzaman is pulling an Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge or Jacob's Ladder. Hayes died in Vietnam, and the whole season was a dream.

It's not anything like what S1 is like.

Kids get trafficked, they're used and abused by famous people, and then they vanish. You'll rarely get a person now and again taking a fall when someone gets close. It's boring (banal as they say).

i'm all for making the viewer uncertain of things and giving a red herring or two but when it feels like the entirety of a series was made of practically only red herrings so they could just pull a twist at the end i feel gypped.

god damn it purple you stupid motherfucker.

Attached: Boondocks Read Nigga.gif (480x368, 3.48M)

kinda like a giant man with scars on his face.

so what car accident?
how did his wife die?

does it ever tell us how amelia died?
hoyt and isabella just faded away?

Yeah it is.

Sure thing. Go back.

>hoyt and isabella just faded away?
isabele killed herself after julie ran away, they say this during the finale

hoyt is also dead, hays mentions this during his reunion with roland in the 2015 timeline

>true detective season 3

Attached: merry_pipe1.jpg (600x681, 79K)

There was so much wrong with this season
absolutely amateur garbage.

well they found one that led them to a dead end, and shortly after was the shootout so the narrative changed a bit. I do agree with you, but maybe they were just so unlucky as to not have crossed paths with him

cant go "back" to where ive never been you butthurt redditor LOL

it was done on purpose because old-hays is the only narrator at the end

It's like 1 autistic reddit fag who really hates this season.

>I'm guessing he thought Tom was just some random intruder?
And he faked a suicide where he says he is going to see his wife and son?

The ending confirmed it once and for all - Pizza is a dogshit writer and S01 was a fluke. I hope this doesn't get renewed.

god damn imagine being this retarded
do you have a team of people to keep you from dying?

Thought it was pretty good actually. Felt like a different show though.

Who killed Dan?

sums it up well.

Who is dan?

Would Yea Forums had been more satisfied if it ended with them never finding Julie or being able to track her to the nunnery?

Or is Julie's fate and the circumstances that led to it (burial etc) not the real problem and it's just the Cyclopse's exposition and Amelia figuring it out that was the big issue?

Attached: 1413254472205.jpg (267x242, 25K)

How were the kids in the VW at the beginning involved?

S2 was so many levels above this.

Im so fucking glad that i realized how good it was when it was airing, before all the contrarians will start to like it now.

Also, tupelo by nick cave would be such a good opening song for s4

Ah the old 'it was utter shit so I have to fool myself into believing it wasn't' routine.

was this shit intentional?

Attached: 82f084c911f05d4d1067d5a08ffc8bdb.jpg (700x404, 36K)

I was expecting a major narrative complot by the detective's wife, final ep baffled me so much that I forgot if they ever said or showed the fuck happened to her inthe timeline

Who killed Dan, Lucy and Tom?

the cousin

Lucy's cousin.

god

So what happend with Amelia, we got 0 payoff to watching her shit throughout the season
it was so fucking pozzed I feel like I got AIDS honestly pozzed my arsehole is pozzed fuaaaa

they lied about seeing the siblings
other than that nothing

yeah so amelia and the car crash and death and whatever never happens?
amelia just died of natural causes?

the payoff was hallucination-amelia reveal identity of live-julie

4channel was better without any head-shittin' birds 'round here

So he finally finds the place she's at but completely forgets who she is and why he's there.
What I find fucked up is the local police and DA trying to sweep everything under the rug for no fucking reason. No pedophile circle conspiracy behind the government just people not giving a shit about lost kids. Pretty realistic I guess. 8/10 season overall. Season 1 is still the best though.
Season 1 > Season 3 > Season 2

So gay and on the nose, just like the black guy's story. Lazy as fuck storytelling, literally just laying it all out
also wtf was up with Purple in 'Nam in the end?

he forgets it because it never happened

Also I just remembered. what happened to the cousin that gave Hoyt's name? he also got killed last ep and i forgot?

fucking this. i loved s02 when it first aired. i was so hyped for s03 too.it just didn't feel like a true detective season. it was more like an axn drama series than an HBO show.

The big issue is that they could have wrapped it all up in 2 episodes and left all the meaningless filler on the floor. The filler leads nowhere.

If you have filler, you need it to lead somewhere or be tangible and not, lol, time wasted.

annuda shoah true groid bix nude!

i try to explain but no one responded

I literally feel raped, this season was absolute SHIT
Amelia shit led to nowhere
interviewer shit led to nowhere
all that pedo ring name dropping and dem keedz tension and other bullshit jesus man someone please fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Ahhhh yesh, god that you caught me, the exposition man, now ill explain everything in extreme detail, tell dont show, right?

Everyone here was hoping for a pedophile conspiracy so that their delusions about real life pedophile conspiracies would be validated

>What I find fucked up is the local police and DA trying to sweep everything under the rug for no fucking reason. No pedophile circle conspiracy behind the government just people not giving a shit about lost kids.
Yeah that wasn't adequately resolved.
Personally I think Hoyt bribed them to bury the case, which is still technically a conspiracy I suppose.

make it a story of great distances and starlight...

>this is how apologists try to defend their shit

Attached: clarence.jpg (600x450, 42K)

You're just trying to dress it as if it's something better than it was, just like the fags who said season 2 was incredible because it mirrored the book of the dead or whatever
get your heads out of your asses and accept a piece of shit for what it is.

I was hoping for good writing and not a dozen red herrings so Pizza can jack off reading inaccurate conspiracy theories on instagram.

Does anyone else like posts like this? Posts that talk about "plot holes" from ESL posters because they're face blind and don't have the IQ to know which character is which?

Attached: marty-rust.jpg (600x337, 23K)

ikr

there isnt any real reason to think they were involved, they were just under a lot of pressure to pin the case on someone and harris james gave them the out they needed when he planted the evidence.

>delusions about real life pedophile conspiracies
we literally have one going on in Argentina right now
some girl got killed for exposing the richfags who bum kids.

But I liked it. Reminded me of LOST but with less plotholes

I'm glad someone did. It was a cheap as fuck episode though, lol'd hard at those shitty flashbacks about the Hoyt daughter and the keedz.

More acceptable options:
1. Amelia was in on it.
2. Amelia figured it out but kept it a secret to protect Julie.
3. Have there be more pink rooms with other little kids captured in them.
4 We find Hays in a cycle where he's solved the case before
5. Hays' daughter went missing and he forgot.

go on

I'm sure there are all sorts of crimes covered up by governments and the rich all the time. But it's a weird obsession with pedophilia that you guys have.

>great detective work hays!

Attached: 3017684-injustice+-+gods+among+us+#16+-+page+17.jpg (1920x1476, 325K)

I thought this season was good.
It had some obvious flaws but I enjoyed watching it.

Attached: ourguy.png (1168x1008, 878K)

kiddy shit generates more outrage because an adult can deserve it when they get killed or something, but kids are pure and so doing anything to them is beyond the pale

I unironically like how he forgot why he was there. Finally gave purpose to that plot device.

>4
Thats exactly where inwas predicting it to go. He goes to pack up or commit suicide and then he forgets and the evil thought demon version of his wife comes roght back to harass him to silve the case he already did. Would have been pretty good, and sticking right with pizzaman's life is a flat octagon shtick.

Yup. I mean this season was perfectly fine, it was ok, the ending was ok too. But are you left with something to dwell over?

But does it have ANYTHING as memorable as season 2? Even people that hate season 2 must admitt that some scene or sequence made a big impression on them. The aesthehics and atmosphere of s2 is also top tier. Nothing in s3 is made with as much care as the bar scene with ray and frank.

And i am not even gonna start speaking of how s2 is peak neo noir. S2 often gets called overly complicated as a critique, and i wonder, do those people even watch noir? That's like one of the main noir things. The big heat? Double indemnity? Out of the past? Same with the death of the protagonists and the sins of past the catching up, noir staples

Fucking Bravo Pizza

I don't think it's that. There's this tinge of occultism that you guys associate with it, like you want it to be real for that sake

Dan's vices caught up with him
killed by the mob and buried in a quarry

i am not saying it's better, i never said it was good or bad
i mean that all the negative stuff have about this season with his wife and so forth had a purpose

if it was purely detective solving a case why would they give it to an old man with dementia, to make the actor look good? pls

there was way too many set ups in the beginning of the series to not have a payback at the end, getting lost and the jungle scene are proofs of a thought-out writing, especially with the importance of that book and so forth and why old hays is so fascinated with it

from my perspective you don't see why i have such a hard time seeing all these missed reactions?

i legit thought he just pretended to be retarded to let her be in peace and not expose her, reason why he didnt call his partner on the ride along as well

I don't remember anything about Season 2 desu

Yeah can't have that, it would actually be interesting.
Better it's just some fucking nutcase of woman trying to replace her lost child.

It's retarded to bring up the pedoring case shit from S1, have the higher ups in the force acting like they're actively suppressing something intentionally, and having all this dumb symbolism like the dolls or halloween ghosts, the boys corpse being being put on a rock in a cave with his arms placed in a praying position and have the local big-dick-mcrich-fuck act like some supervillain. After all that it being a manic-depressive woman and her one eyed butler paying the mom off. What a fulfilling conclusion to the events of the last 7 episodes, pizza is truly the best of all time.

He kept looking for Julie up to 1997. You can fucking bet if Rust was looking for him he would have found out that there was a one eyed black negro looking for a little girl

A few nights ago I wrote my predictions for episode 8 and I had predicted everything correctly - but I deleted the paragraph because it felt too bland and unsatisfying. To everyone who enjoyed tonight's episode - why do you? What made it enjoyable?

that's just cos these mongs want a carbon copy of season 1 for whatever reason

>take your shit and get out of my house, you cost me my job and we're finished
>hey are you sure about that
>actually jk i love you lets get married
this is possibly the worst fictional relationship ive ever seen depicted on tv

A conclusion to two men's harrowing journey that ended up defining their lives. Put the demons to rest

>nicpizzolatto
@alvarez_82 Lost scenes in having to cut down the finale:
* Amelia and Wayne living their lives in 2013, planning an extended vacation around the world. It culminated in Amelia’s death (peaceful, but sudden, in her sleep). Nothing nefarious, just sad.
* Extended scene with Wayne and his daughter, Becca, indicating what her life is like, that she and Wayne don’t have any problem other than neither of them is good at reaching out (Amelia was the parent who always called every week), and they’ve both been lonely without the other.
Hoping they’re deleted scenes on the DVD. But that’s the answer.

I liked it because I predicted the ending right after the leak, but the focus shifted away from the mystery and more towards the characters, so I wasn't bored

So the season is done right? What's the verdict now that you've seen it all?

just the pay back to all the set up in the beginning, such as the part about getting lost and the jungle scene

like the director said at the end, this is just a big wrap up, making clear on how you can't trust the narration

Check pol

based reasonable roland

Season 2 was flawed but interesting. I like the homage to the old detective movies/stories and the whole atmosphere. There were some great scenes in it which I think more than enough compensated for the convoluted story. Season 3 wasn't bad, but it was so mediocre I almost dropped the show halfway through.

S1 - 9/10
S2 - 8/10
S3 - 7/10

who the hell watches TD for the plot?

Yeah this was such garbage it made my head hurt

what are you watching it for? muh character development? there was none of that

it feels like the show is promoting toxic femininity and shitty relationships in general

you are tired user, go to sleep, don't connect the dots, forget everything so far don't look into missing children and weird things and corruption, live a happy life with friends and family, everything is a lie

This
Season 3 is just a 3 hour long story stretched out to 8 hours

Nice.

>muh character development? there was none of that
Yes there was. The plot is like the bones that holds the body of the season together. But the real meat is the characters. That's why season 1 was so good, but season 2 was shit, because season 2 focused too much on the plot and the only character it gave much attention to was Velcoro.

post your favorite TD scene

who are the black guys

What part of the ending? The jungle scene was kino. I liked the episode, but I also realized well beforehand that I already knew everything. This was more like an epilogue.

youtube.com/watch?v=Fj3M5FTNUUg

The book was a prop. It didn't even imply that she died, since she got out and was calling the police in the book. If anything we thought it was how Rebecca died

god

Aspen (male) is fucked

god i hate that other soi faggot so much

What the fuck is wrong with you retards? They wanted to close the case. They found the girls burnt up clothes and the boys backpack at Woodard. That seems pretty fucking conclusive, especially when you are 3 steps removed from the actual investigation and you don't even get any actual pushback or objection from the leading detectives.

Never thought I'd say it boys, but season 2 was better than season 3. This ending was ham-fisted and rushed as almighty fuck.

pretty much everything in the last 30 minutes of the show. The one-eyed nigger giving the viewer the quick rundown, the red herring with the daughter, the le time is a flat circle Julie scene, the happily ever after porch scene, yet another bar scene with Amelia. The Nam flashback was okay, but it was just there so the fucking retards can say "oh, maybe there was more to this. need to watch it again". fuck pizza in his hack fucking ass.

THE FINALE WAS SO BAD!

I mean seriously. It was fucking non-twisty, boring, slow-paced bullshit horseshit time sucking vampire cannibal hunting garbage! Who the fuck thought this is going to be a good ending? Fucking Vietnam? What the fuck? And last scene is with Amelia in bar talking about marriage. WHAT THE FUCK.

Where's the shocking twist. Where's the shocking narrative. What the fuck is going on. All I need is Season 1! Jesus Christ, almighty! Is that hard to make fucking twisty season full of surprises that make sense in the end??

>set up manipulative wife
you really have no idea what you are talking about do you

>To everyone who enjoyed tonight's episode - why do you?
I already knew what was going to happen, and that there couldn't be some big twist at this stage. It was like an epilogue for me. What the rest of their lives are going to look like.

>the red herring with the daughter
There really wasn't one. Looking back I'm not even sure why we were all projecting so much suspicion on that.

>Who killed Dan
Tom
>Who killed Lucy
Overdosed
>Who killed Tom
Himself

alternative answer for all three: Harris James

Just finished it. Fuck it, I'm a Mahershala believer now. Only part of the finale I didn't like was Alzheimer's Amelia explaining the "twist" step by step for dumb people.

She was acting weird as fuck, everyone suspected her of some sort of wrongdoing.
If she was never supposed to appear suspicious then the actress/scene director really fucked that up

Rick and Morty

fuck this piece of shit show.
if you were entertained and kept in suspense for this trash than you have a room temperate IQ.
everything interested was a red herring, plot dead ends, ignored, bullshit.
this was a shitty relationship show pretending to be a mystery.
there was no twist you fucking retard, this was 100% predictable and anons have been posting exactly how it would end for weeks.

nailed it

cyclops motherfucker did nothing wrong

>I literally feel raped, this season was absolute SHIT
no you dont and no it isnt
>Amelia shit led to nowhere
literally the second most important character after wayne
>interviewer shit led to nowhere
shes a sensationalist history channel tier hack. thats a good thing.
>all that pedo ring name dropping and dem keedz tension and other bullshit jesus man someone please
“It’s terrible what this work makes you ponder, isn’t it?”

Attached: 1548478950147.jpg (721x667, 78K)

It's because it's Hays rewriting the case to fit her book. She is his guilt over the unsolved case, her book becomes the case when Hays puts the Mike character as julies husband, and which was not collaborated by anyone else

So Harris still killed Lucy, right?

not followed up on in the 90s for any reason. any reason at all. other than a rich and powerful man threatening to expose wayne as a vigilante murderer to the police and his family

Can we talk about how pizzaman ripped of mike milligans ending in fargo with the exact same thing happening to hays? He even has a fucking afro

Why are TD threads full of based retards?

I took it as she decided to spend his money on overdosing after learning the truth

What are you favorite tv shows of the last 3 years? I want the opportunity to judge you.

Wait, so the ghost of his dead wife gave him the keys to the kingdom, by pointing towards some farfetched BS theory?

Still better than S2 though.

Attached: 568562285.jpg (1920x1080, 261K)

>literally the second most important character after wayne
all that filler relationship drama that lead nowhere surely was important.

Unfiltered kino.

Attached: true_kino_transition.webm (960x540, 3M)

So farfetched that we figured it out two weeks ago, and my clueless dad knew that the girl was Julies granddaughter, named after her mom, immediately

Attached: 1549946248186.jpg (563x1200, 141K)

becase there were 4 (four) scenes about her and how she goes missing/isn't around/doesn't want to be there in a show about a "mystery". that's almost as much as the number of scenes talking/looking about the one-eyed man.

Why does Paul trigger you?

It wasn't a ghost, it was his repressed memories trying to communicate with his swiss cheese brain

Amelia actress was in It Comes At Night wtf

Attached: 1525522251868.jpg (1499x1000, 127K)

or maybe Purple Haze never left Vietnam. maybe he's there dying in that jungle and his mind is playing tricks of him about the life he'll never have

...

I understand, I just wish it wasn't presented is such a heavy handed way. Didn't spoil the episode, just felt awkward to me.

S03E08 already too late to top something as kino as the last episode of Season 2

Ray shooting, Vince walking 10 times better than memory flashback breakup home and away shitter

Attached: kinofromthepast.jpg (1536x1037, 103K)

Exactly

Attached: 220px-Jacobsladderposter.jpg (220x325, 11K)

And now to look forward to Gayme of Thrones
I wonder if it'll shit the ending up worse than TD S3 did

based

How did Amelia know that Lucy got married. Did cyclops nigga tell her?

hasn't been much i'd call great released lately.
fargo, better call saul was good, american vandal was entertaining. halt and catch fire. narcos is ok.
mindhunter isn't what i'd call good, but it's worth a watch.
s3 of true detective is official trash.

Meditation first on Wayne with his family and Roland, then on Wayne and Amelia getting married in 1980, then Wayne alone in the jungle before that

The close up on the kids bike recalls the formal opening of the season, and ending on the chronological first scene of the season gives the story of Wayne's life scale and scope

Can't believe I have to explain this

Attached: (steadypoundingsound).png (1515x849, 2.09M)

imagine being this intimidated by headstrong women

Imaging being such a neet you didn't have 20 normie friends watching the show that agreed she is super suspicious

you're explaining the obvious. people are pissed because 75% of this season is filler trash.
no interesting twist or tension to the story.
it's fucking dull and last episode confirmed it.

>this was a shitty relationship show pretending to be a mystery.
Welcome to true detective! Took you 3 seasons, 24 episodes, 5 years to realize what the show was about, mr. high iq metal gear rising old unfunny meme poster!

Attached: 1548565270033.gif (260x260, 856K)

i came into it ready for shit to go down and I just cried because of how tragic and sad it all was. really great season.

the primary substance of the show isnt filler, user

Does pizza hate the audience or something? That was a really shitty way to tie up the series. 15 minutes of exposition

why didn't wayne tell his partner that hoyt knew where the body was buried?

>narcos is ok
>mindhunter worth a watch
>s3 is trash
I think I'm done here. Narcos and Mindhunter are trash.

>true detective is all about relationships, fuck mystery
ok then

Attached: 1494247282456.png (571x618, 53K)

its completely normal to pause a movie 7 times before its over and analyze incidental detail in screenshots and the imdb page

i didn't say they were great fuckhead, they're at least worth watching unlike this piece of shit season of TD.

This season is subversive but not shit, only it may not have conformed to expectations

I couldn't make it through one full episode of Mindhunter, and Narcos is cheesy as fuck. You're talking out of your ass.

When I watched it I thought they held for way too long on the random gardner outside. Problem was I was looking at him and not his truck. Lo and behold I sit down to browse Yea Forums and someone else saw it, except they noticed Ardoin on the truck, knew it matched the kid, and went the extra step to check the actor to really pile on the evidence.
But please don't act like it was out of nowhere. This wasn't "Notice King"

The Young Pope
The Leftovers
Nathan for You

Real twist is that none of these events ever happened. Purple never left the jungle.

I these faggots so much.

Attached: 1551078943383.png (740x411, 90K)

Well there is no evidence of that.

But there is a twist, some things did didn't happen.

It's only matched by pizza's bugmen trying to see some inception tier redpilling:
>You need to be a detective, normies! It's supposed to feel like alzheimer's. Follow the clues!
Meanwhile all his HBO colleagues shill for bad guys 24/7 and normies be like "Degenflix is just 11$/mo, I'm Pickle Bazinga, Morty. THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!"

Attached: 1548603720815.png (416x533, 237K)

Go to bed Rian

Baitpost or Pizzaboy himself or someone fooling himself into believing it was good

>The Young Pope
kino
>The Leftovers
trash
>Nathan for You
funny but no real substance

Then stop going to their site?

nicpizzolatto
@alvarez_82 Lost scenes in having to cut down the finale:
* Amelia and Wayne living their lives in 2013, planning an extended vacation around the world. It culminated in Amelia’s death (peaceful, but sudden, in her sleep). Nothing nefarious, just sad.
* Extended scene with Wayne and his daughter, Becca, indicating what her life is like, that she and Wayne don’t have any problem other than neither of them is good at reaching out (Amelia was the parent who always called every week), and they’ve both been lonely without the other.

confirmed you have no taste and are 100% a disappointing faggot.

I've always been looking for a song that plays here at 2:54. It also played in this season's finale but haven't been able to find it.

anyone know the title?

Can someone recommend some detective kino where the case is actually solved in a satisying way, or at least in a thematically appropriate way? This ending was basically "gotcha! The case actually wasn't sinister, just a crazy lady and nice Mr. Uncle Tom playing with them keeds and an oopsie happened". Seriously some Rian Johnson tier shit.

I've seen all of True Detective obviously (1 and 2 are kino, 3 is a sloppily written mess buoyed by great performances)
Seen Se7en
Memento
Blade Runner
Silence of the Lambs
But that's basically it, I'm basically a virgin to noir, but I get the feeling there isn't much out there that's actually quality.

Chinatown

so how did amelia die?
what was the car crash shit?

Some other user posted it, but if I ever go to reddit it's because I'm curious to see something that doesn't piss me off. A post on a sub with comments that isn't sanitized, kitchy, circlejerking, or karma-whoring.

kino

I enjoyed LA Confidential.

i'm confused
was the old black guy the one at the beginning of the season or the one at amelia's reading?
help pls

Attached: 1fe.png (658x662, 59K)

You do have to be high IQ for Mindhunter. I'm assuming you asked for crime shows? Bloodline and quarry

Different men, brainlet.

>1 and 2 are kino
>2 is kino
>3 is a sloppily written mess

Attached: 1.png (317x392, 134K)

It was a real book being used as a prop you retard. The title was at the top of the page

uncredited. probably some ambient track they made for the episode in a few minutes

It was a third black guy

Can we just talk about how these fucking nuns can just file false death reports and shit?

How does Julie v2 even get taxed if she's dead? Do the nuns also deal in identity fraud?

Attached: d6f.jpg (403x389, 19K)

>all these plebs ITT who watched for the destination and not the journey

If you claim to have liked TD season 1 I'm not sure what your gripe is with this season. The show has always been focused on how a case affects the detectives working it. It was a good character study.

Are we seriously not gonna talk about anime Roland beating up a gang of bikers?

Attached: 1519444027250.webm (1280x720, 2.86M)

That was hilarious, tfw I'm 45 minutes into the final but wanna shitpost

pussy

who was the guy at amelia's reading then?

It was posted to death in previous threads

Season 3 makes Season 2 look like Season 1

Literally this.

The case was solved by episode 4, and niggers in here still thought it was some 2deep4u thing.

I heard similar ambient chamber music in the finale that sounded familiar. I rewinded at the time I was watching to hear it again but it didn't stick. I just scrolled through the whole episode again just now and I didn't find it, fuck. I'd have to look harder.

Ghost Amelia exposition dump was community theater-tier fit for network television watching mouthbreathers. Which is about right, that's what this show has plummeted down to.

yeah I've feared as much. It also appears in this episode at around 49 minute mark where they are sorting the files in Hays's home office

it's just season 2 shitters and people who will get over it and look back on it with fresher eyes later.
This always happens
t.season 2 shitter

Is this bait? Same guy the detectives interrogated in the finale (Junius). The first guy they interrogated at the trailer park was a different nig.

It was a theory his melting brain told him

Watched it twice now. I think the reason it was a sub par finale is that pizza has a tendency to write his scripts like novels, which doesn’t always translate. Thinking about the events of the episode, if I were reading it in a Harry Crews book, id be pretty fucking satisfied, but on screen it just didnt work quite as well.

...

>That moment in episode 7 where the interviewer says paedophile rings all have blue circles as their logo
>one of them is carcosa
absolute cringe

Have you seen these threads? Honestly, it's surprising how many GoTbrainlets are watching this show and don't get the simplest story elements.I also felt ghost Amelia was a little on the nose, but after reading questions in /tdg/ it's probably for the best.

Attached: 1551079310221.jpg (724x724, 239K)

Yes. All crimes must meet your sinister quota in detective fiction. Yesss

Fukunaga said as much. Pizza being a novelist type of guy who places writing above directing caused the friction. You know that 4 minute sequence made to look like a single take that everyone raved about from s1? Fukunaga had to fight Pizza to get that. Pizza would have been happy with it just being a series of cuts.

Julie would have been around 45, the woman Hayes sees looks too young. So yeah maybe it's bullshit and Mike didn't actually find and marry the woman that Hayes sees in front of the house.

cope

subversion in crime drama is fine so long as it fits.
People are so quick to jump on to a juicy convoluted plot of evil in fiction and reality.

Funny how some actors get called manlet here but others don't despite either being the same height or barely taller. Harington and Dorff get called out on it constantly but McAvoy, Renner, or Richard Madden don't.

this shit sounded retarded at the time
but it's actually real
wikileaks org/wiki/FBI_pedophile_symbols

the real villain was AIDS

COPE
it was such an average season. it offered nothing interesting to warrant a second viewing. Yea Forums has spoken and memes were weak across the board. 1=2>>>>

Green ears

All of Amelia's leads the entire season have been on point yet somehow the final Amelia lead in the denouement is a shitty Jacob's ladder/Usual suspects le rationalized twist? You're more retarded than this show.

Sometimes your worst season is your best season

Womp womp

Best meme are the nun masterminds laughing maniacally and smugly self-congratulating themselves.

Honestly, I wish the show used her novel to bookend and help dementia-Hays a little more.

I mean just have him reading, have her VO as they question old cunts in the modern day. Seems like they used her in really convenient times which just felt sort of flat.

Was fine, wouldn't re-watch though.

Mindhunter is based with Fincher direction

Holy shit thanks, but it must have been used elsewhere too because I don't remember rewinding that part. Props to the sharp motherfucker who recalled the scene.

the show uses the suspense of the case as it's tension, and it fell completely on it's ass.
character development is fine, but there is more to a show like this and this season fucking sucked.
why do you think 99% of posts about this show on the internet are people guessing what will happen? it's not because people are interested in character development.

It's the same actress as the ones in the church photos though you fucking adhd brainlet.

was the nigger daughter real?

>Yea Forums has spoken
you know you are wrong when you have to say this.
Season 2 is shit mate. Focused too much on it's plot and was overburdened by having four leads. Had the average on worst dialogue in the series, and worst of all was boring until literally the last two episodes.
Ray was cool though

Half the first episode was him anal fucking a whore, and the serial killer in prison talking about getting bitches like he even had experience. Wasn't convincing, was annoying.

Nic has been saying this since midway thru s1 and he saw the audience going schizo mode overanalyzing incidental detail and expecting cthulu to appear in the finale

All three are entirely focused on the character and the cases only exist as vehicles for them

Attached: NIGGAS.XXXSPACECRAFT.jpg (893x482, 92K)

>tfw ausfag who would completely crush that daughters cunt

Also what was her deal anyways? Was she a dyke or some shit? She blame Wayne for the death of their mum? Worst character 2bh.

S3 and 2 has the same tier dialogue

>t. reddit

and this is why despite thinking season 3 is better, season 2 will always have a special place in the kino section of my heart.

Attached: 1551072977158.png (1049x1049, 644K)

Because roland called him an uppity fuckin ni

new thread

yeah but season 2 had a hell of a lot more of it.

"I might be up shit's creek, but Ray I'm a fuckin' plumbler... Caspere knew this..."

Yea Forums has been saying your /lgbt/ relationship drama is shit, and making uo characters without knowing what to do with them is masturbation, pizza.

Can someone tell me how Amelia Bedelia died, I must have missed it

>why do you think 99% of posts about this show on the internet are people guessing what will happen?
Because 99% of people who post plot theories about TV shows on the internet are retarded, probably.

Looks like an Uncharted character.

Wayne can't remember

The season is about waynes life. The case is an autistic obsession of his due to his personality issues and experience as a tracker. He "solved" the case in 1990 by letting it go and focusing on family

His alzheimers is one of those problems with a good side effect of bringing together his family and roland for the rest of his days

She didnt die, she's with the witness protection program run by the holy mother church

Kek a trip down memory lane. It was fucking awful.

Nobody has 20 normie friends watching a niche mixed reception hbo miniseries weekly in 2019

>ass pen

Attached: 1530747748846.png (1582x1526, 117K)

Its not an amelia lead. Its a hallucination articulating a theory. The only other hallucination of amelia iirc was about harris james body in the woods

99% of people are idiots

She died in her sleep in 2013 of who knows what. Cut for time. Blame hbo

Because it was an interesting reflection of how character flaws, best intentions, and burying the truth leads to disasters and even greater fuck ups. I was never going to accept super global pedo cult with how obvious the screw ups were at all levels
>Crazy bitch is crazy but also rich
>People try to help her but just enable her self-destructive behavior to hurt other people
>Cops are willing to cover up shit for a variety of reasons
>Many cops act like cowboys because they have major chips on their shoulder
>DAs are stupidly political and look for a rapid conviction and good press
>True crime novelist and reporters keep unsolved cases alive over the years but often at best uncover grains of truth with bullshit conclusions
>Police officers who covered up crimes will have to continue to make compromised decisions to keep the cover up going
>Personal relationships and issues often have impacts on how work is conducted
All this and more can lead to a bunch of people who think they have the answers just projecting their own bullshit on things.

Rust>Velcoro>Roland>Marty>Frank>Woodrough>Bezerides

If I was a loser who investigated IMDB pages I could've come up with the ending as a possibility, sure. But where's the fun in that? You should stop watching TV dramas and just read cold cases or some shit to get your fix. Or maybe true crime novels/shows. You're wasting your time here.

Ah just of old age. How do you know this by the way

so you enjoy simple minded affirmations of how you already think life is.
you're a lefty aren't you?

all scenes of hays' monologing with amelia's memory progressed the case, in other words leads. don't be such a pedant. but then you want to contradict that pattern to float your own shallow, what-a-genius-psychological-twist theory that's been done a thousand times before within the genre. pleb.

you didn't need to be an autist to see that ending coming weeks ago.

I blame the reception mostly on the weekly episodic format. If all these brainlets watched it at once they'd have gotten their fill of sensational genre beats at the same time as the poignant bitter pill.

Just not great television if the protagonist doesnt unload a light machine gun on all the bad guys or straps a bomb to a guy in a wheelchair for the finale yknow

Nic on instagram

christ, this brainlet thinks any foresight, any recognition of froeshadowing, any knowledge of how narratives are wrought is a spoiler. world must be a fucking magical place to this drooling brain donor.

suck pizzamans dick a little harder.
you know what would have made the finale good? for anything interesting or unpredictable to happen.

Roland doesnt even count

Its

Rust/marty
Ray/frank/ani/paul
Wayne

Fuck & Suck, Jordan, Amelia, Roland, Tom, and Henry are secondary characters

There was only one other hallucination of amelia like this one, user. And it didnt advance the case

the main character was an unlikeable asshole
no one in the show was relatable
the characters didn't have as much depth as anyone from season 1
it become boring to watch because they kept telling the viewer what happened before you actually saw the scenes where those things occurred

season 1 had a lot of mystery elements:
how did rust and marty fall out with eachother?
how did rust turn into this shell of a man?
if the case was solved how has it started again?
Is the new murder a copycat killer, did they catch the wrong guy or is it part of a bigger conspiracy?

s3 had none of that
