>be in theater >"You made the biggest mistake of your life. And what's that?" >audience eyes widen in anticipation >"Underestimating who I am." >audiences starts clapping and screaming with laughter while throwing their fedoras at the screen >on the back of me I hear people singing The Game of Thrones tune with the text "men blown the fuck out" >Salazar rolls out a rag doll esque Ruth Bader Ginsburg in front of the screen and starts dancing like PSY while chanting "UP UP UP UPVOTE REDDIT STYLE" >meanwhile people pull out their phones and start taking pictures of RBG and posting it on reddit claiming she's still alive >as I wanted to leave the theater I stumble on a band of 30 manchildren chanting "UPVOTE REDDIT STYLE .... UP, UP UP UPVOTE REDDIT STYLE" while dancing like PSY >desperately trying to escape this hell hole I see alot of children crying of fear but their parents don't seem to respond >as I take a look around the theatre trying to find an escape I come to the conclusion that the whole audience except for the children are singing and dancing "UPVOTE REDDIT STYLE" >in a desperate attempt to survive I pick one of the pusssyhats on the ground and start chanting "times up men" to every person I come across while trying to escape >the crowd didn't seem to notice me and as I walked out of the theater I looked back >the children are getting crushed by the amount of people dancing and singing like PSY >i remember the tears on their faces but all I heard while finally leaving the theater were the people screaming "upvote reddit style" If you liked this shit then you're on the wrong fucking board

WHERE YOU AT SHILLS? HUH HUH?? GOT SOMETHING TO SAY NOW YOU SLIMY CUNTS? I'm gonna go see the movie one more time, and maybe even once more next week, just for them
It's fine, because said tumor are actually extra faces that grow on the body of people, complete with partial skulls and brains. The woman Alita grew from was a cutie.
Go back to your Boyhood or whatever boring pseud crap you like.

Not necessarily. All it takes is for one user who's read the manga to mention it, and then for shills to read said comment and start spamming it thinking it means something.

Hell, its what finally causes nova to develop a full on obsession with gally. Because she isn't a product of standard human determinism, she triggered his anti-determinism autism.
Adrian Moore
>going through rt user reviews >almost all 4/5 star ratings are from new accounts that joined in february with the ones being older than a year having capeshit highly rated as well
1. Why if she heard someone tearing apart her father's lab would she roll out there like a fucking retard in her wheelchair? 2. Ido says "she didn't move fast enough" while we clearly see that she wasn't in the way 3. It's a spacious ass room, the Motorballer could've ran out without even scratching her which makes her death look intentional instead of an accident or "wrong place wrong time" situation. The nigga was just getting drugs and swerved out of his way to kill a like 12 year old girl, it was fucking goofy.
And Alita gets a new body pretty soon after all of that. It was a completely unnecessary change, Alita could've just been his cat that died like in the manga.
Thomas Mitchell
Now that Disney owns Fox, and given Cameron worked with them for Avatarland in Florida, how long until we get an Alita ride at Disneyworld?
there was absolutely nothing NSFW about that image, if there were, I would have received some sort of notice of rule violation. I remain unbanned and unwarned.
Hunter Sullivan
What I mean is thinking it will make people stop liking Alita or stop watching her movie, not that it doesn't have any significance in the manga itself.
Jeremiah Collins
is this bait?
Jayden Diaz
>marketing general
Ayden Brown
>3. It's a spacious ass room, the Motorballer could've ran out without even scratching her which makes her death look intentional instead of an accident whoa twist reveal for sequel nova was controllin da motorballer and killed ido and chiren's daughter on purpose holy shit he's the architect of all their pain
Luis Cruz
But, dude... you're a shill. Why bother pretending?
1. She thought it was her father, and came to see what all the noise was about. 2. She was directly in the way of the exit. Watch the scene again. 3. See above. He'd have to go around in a fucking circle to leave, and he's high as shit and needs to make a quick exit ergo the daughter gets killed. Nice try but Cameron owns all rights to Alita. Not Fox and not Disney. ;^)
James Fisher
>she thought her father was tearing his own lab and their home apart
I wonder how Nova being a 300+ years old dude who lives in Zalem and controls everything on the surface will impact the plot of the later movies. A lot of things that happen in the manga happen because no one's really in control of anything. It's more of a "character vs the system" story than a "character A vs character B" scenario.
Yes hence the reason she went to find out what the fuck was going on, you literal brainlet. >hurr why someone look see what happen when weird shit happen HUH
Brandon Campbell

Ethan Garcia
Yes.
Jackson Ross
So says the shill.
Henry Nelson
>can STILL see the strings holding her up what the fuck disney?
Josiah Price
If they go forward with the series it's likely anything overtly antagonistic that Nova did in this movie will be pseudo-retconned into him being lol so random. Especially if they get into any of the material where he's mostly a good guy.
You are claiming if you heard a tiger ripping your house apart you'd, as a paraplegic, slowly roll your useless ass out there.
Brody Lee
Cameron owns Alita film rights, so since Alita will make 400 million worldwide guaranteed and get at least publicity from that (Solo couldn't make that), he should push for waifu sequel on the side while Avatars make the most money.
Bentley Ward
As a 47 year old user who went to film school and read Gunnnm in the late '90s I agree. I hated this movie. There's no point in trying to dissect what Alita: Battle Angel got right or wrong in terms of script or pacing or character development or whatever else film snobs like to blather on about. Its all horrible. Alita is just a boring, cringefest of what I hoped would at least be a worthwhile trilogy, if not more. They couldn't have animated Alita any worse. (Those eyes, wtf?) Terrible movie. Complete waste of two hours. Don't bother seeing it the theater. Watch the cam rip on a laptop if you want to how bad the movie is. I am glad its flopping. There doesn't need to be a sequel.
it was pretty dumb how a bunch of poor kids with dreams of not being poor kids knew about a 300 year old crashed martian spaceship filled with hyper technology and were just totally stumped by 12 feet of water.
Josiah Peterson
c u t e
Ryder Cooper
Nice pasta
Bentley Carter
It's not "retconned" if it was planned from the beginning. Cameron actually wrote out a freaking book on how he wanted the trilogy to play out, that Rodriguez used to make this movie (and why Cameron was okay with giving the reigns over to another director). The movie never actually explicitly shows Nova as being the head villain either, it's only really implied, no doubt to set up a Shamalamadingdong twist in the sequel where it turns out he's not.
Camden Flores
>As a 47 year old user who went to film school and read Gunnnm in the late '90s A good attempt, user but next time make your bait a little less obvious.
Brayden Green
If I heard someone making a lot of noise during the night yes I'd go investigate you retard, because I don't live alone and maybe one of family members needs help or is upset about something.
Jeremiah Allen
are you saying that james "jimbo" cameron is planning to subvert our expectations??
Cameron Wright
People hating the movie doesn't surprise me. A lot of other movies would get a pass on a few dumb scenes, but not when the themes of the movie are against the grain of modern Western society in almost every way.
>omg it glorifies violence >omg she's so girly >omg it's so anime
Just lol at anyone who hates it for these reasons.
Logan Campbell
You are a paraplegic in this scenario. You aren't capable of helping anyone. You are, in fact, what always needs to be helped.
Cameron Brooks
>mfw the alita general is invaded by mousefriends
I trust boatman to deliver a good trilogy. It's a good thing that unlike the new star wars movies, everything has been planned from the start to some extent.
Its not just a few dumb scenes, its most scenes, most lines, most characters, most plot points, and centered around probably the dumbest design decision in the history of film.
Joshua Turner
>It's not "retconned" if it was planned from the beginning I suppose. From the viewer's perspective it can definitely seem this way if it isn't done correctly, though. I'm not being critical, even in the manga Nova's character is poorly-written. I don't blame the movie at all for portraying him as more of a straightforward villain/antagonist than the "le wacky chaos science man" he was in the source material.
Hell, if they wanna go super next-level they could even get ahead of Last Order's ridiculous plot and make this movie's Nova an evil clone.
>The movie states that the ship is filled with Martian tech no one understands or how to use, so it's good as junk >None of the kids knew how to swim, this is explicitly stated by the black friend >It took several minutes for Alita to even reach the ship, as Hugo and his friends were starting to wonder how fucking long she could hold her breath and were most likely worrying she was drowning >This confuses the user
Wyatt Roberts
Alright lads after going through 8 pages of reviews and 70% of the accounts clicked leading to 404 and the and at least 20% being new accounts with only alita reviewed I think this score might be fake also why does it look different in other screenshots? do I need an account?
Do people really say this? The only people I've heard criticizing the movie are manga purists, SJWs journos trying to manufacture outrage and Yea Forums trolls. Most weebs and normies seem to agree on the movie being good.
Sebastian Fisher
dyson ido seems pretty comfortable with martian tech.

why would they not know how to swim if they have access to a beatific lagoon?
they start asking "how long can she hold her breath" THE LITERAL INSTANT she jumps into the water
Jason Young
Nah, it's just a few. If you were that flustered over the movie, you went in with a stick up your ass. Learn how to take a step back and realize who the target audience is: adolescent boys and tomboys, who aren't interested in seeing a "masterpiece of film."
As for the eyes, get over it. I did seconds into the movie.
Hudson Robinson
also add to the fact that the kids mentioned what tech was salvageable/understood had already been taken by previous scavengers
Ido, unlike everyone in iron City except Chiren, was born and raised on Zalem. He's used to dealing with better tech.
Camden Ross
I think there's a bunch of articles that said those things.
Josiah Martinez
No my parapalegic daughter, I do not need you making noise and potentially drawing the animal's attention while I attempt to get it out of the house.
Noah Rogers
He did the equivalent of gluing some shit together. The movie goes out of its way at several points to tell you, the obviously brain damaged viewer, that Ido doesn't understand the tech either.
Gabriel Taylor
But all of that is wrong? Her design was literal art my friend
>Yea Forums trolls Image posting like you don't post here while posting here so fucking weird
Nathan Barnes
I always know that he is /ourguy/.
Xavier Foster
Yeah, SJW journos trying to manufacture outrage, then. It had very little traction, this time.
Hudson Howard
Time passes between the cuts you dumb nigger. Yeah this too.
Julian Bennett
How was manga nova poorly written? Sure he's very flamboyant, but he's not lul so randum for no reason. All he's doing is examining human character for his unifying scientific/philosophic theory through changing their bodies.
Jaxon Flores
explained in the same scene, even if you got a Berserker armor (Alita opened the ship with body ID) it's only furniture if you didn't know somebody like Ido, who was from Zalem and still wanted nothing to do with it
Owen Martin
>and realize who the target audience is If you're going to pursue an entirely new audience, why adapt an existent property? So much about this movie was changed from the source they could have just changed the names and no one would've known it was an adaptation of gunnm.
Charles Mitchell
There isn't a cut there. She jumps in and they immediately ask how long she can old her breath. The seconds later she's back in air.
Leo Morris
>So much about this movie was changed from the source they could have just changed the names and no one would've known it was an adaptation of gunnm.
There are just 2 guys trolling Alita's threads because they are autists hating people having fun.
Daniel Gomez
We've been over this exact argument in several prior threads about the changes and why they were necessary. Besides, it still captures the spirit of the manga, as Kishiro himself has repeatedly stated.
Leo Lewis

>and no one would've known it was an adaptation of gunnm. Hyperbole to this extent is so fucking stupid it completely erases any point you thought you had, just so you know. Also, all manga is essentially read by adolescents in the West, despite how it is treated in Japan.
Justin Perez
kishiro is a hack who likes money. the fact is the movie misses literally every single iota of "spirit" the manga had. As the manga was mostly about what defines humanity when a "human" can be a literal toaster.
Brayden Thompson
Atari? But do they even exist anymore?
Dominic Jenkins
Why are the fans of Captain Mushrooms a panic?
Carson Garcia
>I AM EVIL BECAUSE SCIENCE >I AM NOW GOOD BECAUSE SCIENCE "BECAUSE SCIENCE" is a lousy excuse for a character being all over the place in terms of motivation and disposition. Bleach tried the same shit with Mayuri and it was just as dumb.
Jaxson Gutierrez
Please feel free to argue the point. Its okay if you can't.
Elijah Jenkins
Don't lie user. I know that you wouldn't give a shit about Alita as a property less than a month ago. Just now when it starts to get popular that you pretend to like the manga.
Noah Hernandez
Sure, absolutely gonna trust some random user with a complete contrarian stick up his ass rather than the supposed "hack" of an author who has repeatedly expressed his love and admiration for the film, far and above what any normal monetary shilling might require.
Brandon Collins
>A lot of things that happen in the manga happen because no one's really in control of anything. It's more of a "character vs the system" story than a "character A vs character B" scenario. Yeah. As much as I like Nova as an antogonist, they made him a bit too powerful and too much of a focus.
Parker Kelly
he was never good nor evil. That was one of the points of the character.
Christopher Scott
Her core/head part was still intact. Apparently that's all you need. Maybe she has a chip inside of her brain that the ship can detect and know it's a Berserker.
Daniel Green
she still has her martian heart. or the ship goes by brains, which she also had.
Joseph Wood
Not that user, but what is wrong with that? Alita was always a niche manga from the 90s overshadowed by its bigger contemporaries, especially in Japan. A lot of the love here ironically comes from Cameron's announcement back in 2003 of his intentions to adapt this work in the first place. Now the manga is getting more love and there might be more added to it by Kishiro himself, is that so fucking bad?
Blake Foster
>a shill asserts the validity of a literal marketing campaign
oh, right.
Noah Bennett
Why bother with an adaptation if you aren't going to do something new with it? Why adapt something and not cater to the audience who will be interested in the adaptation? You think any company in Japan had the funds and the interest to adapt it? A Western team does it, so the Western team will take some creative liberties with it and adapt it to their audience. Adaptation: that means changing something to fit you.
according to the movie, the remains of hundreds (if not thousands) of URM soldiers were in the scrapyard. You'd think those would be pretty valuable.
Brody Nelson
Bethesda Game Studios. Todd Howard reworks Starlight to be about the Martian Wars with Alita as an unlockable skin or playable character.
Aiden Collins
She's not particularly girly, you're just a Reifag
Jordan Smith
I would have liked for them to do something new with it. The issue is, they didn't. They just threw as much of it at the wall as they possibly could, shaving off all the sharp edges and creativity, and then called it a day.
Liam Sullivan
No, I'm only asserting the validity of you talking out of your ass. Your opinion matters nothing compared to Kishiro's. Also please refer to this
Xavier Brooks
Like I said, that's a lousy excuse. Being neither shouldn't mean you can get away with being both.
>literal shill doubles down on the idea that marketing is never outright lies
...
Wyatt Myers
I just watched this too and I spent the entire movie repeating the words "This is reddit, this is memes, this is reddit, this is memes..." under my breath. I fucking hated it. I was writhing around on the floor in front of my seat for the last 30 minutes it was so painful.
>Ayy quirky robospic movie lmao If you liked it you're in the wrong place
Eli Morales
The manga was about much more than that, and all the "more" stuff has so far been covered. Honestly, if they focused on that part, it'd just feel like discount GitS. I love the themes they chose to take from the manga and focus on. The whole "buh wuh is weel humonity" shit gets fucking boring after a while.
David Barnes
That's not the point though. I read the manga long ago and was waiting anxiously for JC to adapt it. That guy on the other hand seems like he is just using the manga to troll Alita.
Levi Carter
I see you hold to the idea that the universe is 100% binary, black and white, good and evil, niggers and spics.
Jaxon Wilson
>Collage of Japanese Arita: Battle Angel Movie Tickets
Oshii said the same thing about Ghost in the Shell I guess that was a great adaption too then
Carson Torres
Nova was never "evil", just extremely calluous. Karmatron dynamics isn't the typical science either, it's about freeing humanity from the bonds of destiny. And he never became good either, just an ally who put the mutilating on the backburner.
David Smith
Based Jimbo
Tyler Sullivan
No one can figure out what URM tech is or how to use it, it's basically junk, and what stuff people could figure out was very quickly salvaged. Any organic matter would have rotted away centuries before the movie even took place, hency why Ido is so surprised to find a part of a cyborg still alive while spending another day rooting through the centuries of layers of trush and junk dropped from Zalem and The Fall.
Henry Turner
>I love the themes they chose to take from the manga and focus on and what would those be?
Wyatt Rivera
Is the Jap's Otaku craze kicked in for Alita yet?
Asher Long
He didn't see it 5 times now, did he.
Josiah Scott
That's the guy saying kishirio is full of shit.
it was also funny how they didn't seek out shirow for his opinions of the GitS movie.
Nolan Wood
>user still doubles down on blowing out his ass as if he's an authority on the author's thoughts
And again, this is leading to a renewed love and interest in the manga both here and more importantly in Japan. If this leads to more Gunnm, is that such a bad thing?
>If you were that flustered over the movie, you went in with a stick up your ass. I actually went in really excited and hopeful but my hope started to diminish when I saw Alita go out on the street with Ido guiding her as he spewed expository dialogue. My hope died completely when she tried to fight the robot in the street and Hugo had to "save" her.
Jason Allen
>No one can figure out what URM tech ido seems to pretty easily adapt it to work with the body he built for his daughter.
Tyler Cooper

Adrian Mitchell

Logan Williams
what a shitty ending and a basic first crush love story. This was written by a teenager or what?
Elijah Hughes
Genuine newfags The other people replying are fine though
Dylan King
The coming of age aspect, the scumminess of the city, the warrior spirit, and the teenage romance.
Dylan Morris
>if it leads to more bastardized adaptations, is that a such bad thing? Yes?
Also appealing to authority doesn't convince anyone of anything. He can be wrong/lying just as easily as you can pretend you are not a literal paid marketer.
But yea, just ignore the context of "seeing a movie 5 times" in five different countries a person was flown to, all expenses paid.
Jackson Evans
Not at all, I just think it's eye roll-worthy when a character who pulls some of the shit Nova does justifies his actions with science. Believe me, I really do like his character, I just think it's pretty bad writing. In Last Order they even need to throw in a bunch of even eviler Nova clones just to make the actual Nova look comparatively less evil.
>Karmatron dynamics isn't the typical science either No kidding. It's like one step above Nova's headcanon.
Ethan Roberts
>alitaplebs >alitashills >now alitaedditors jesus christ
Jaxson Green
Teenage romance between a cyborg warrior girl and a fleshy idealistic boy, to be specific.
Benjamin Kelly
So surface bullshit, non-existent bullshit, more surface bullshit, and more surface bullshit.
That's really great there man. You sure do seem to really love the source material.
Noah Evans
>And he never became good either This. The nicest version of Nova, Nova X, kept of lab full of mutilated copies of himself, took children hostage by offering them poisoned flans, and greeted his son by playing a game where he had to push buttons at random, and half of the buttons killed innocent people.
that wasn't the theme of the manga. not at all. That entire arc in the manga was about literally shitting on alita's idealizations of love in a setting that was literally hell.
Joseph Roberts
Oh yeah, because "le what is real humanity" isn't surface bullshit, lmfao.
This is a fucking COMIC BOOK we are talking about. Do you realize that, you complete shitwipe? Get a fucking clue.
Kevin Reyes

He's not trying to justify it. He doesn't care if anyone agrees with him. Holy egoism of genius, etc.
Noah Cooper
I'm talking about adding more to the manga itself, but ok, ignore the context I'm talking about then dipshit. And ignore the fact that Kishiro has gone back to see it on his own in Japan after its official premiere there. Also cry about an appeal to authority all you like, the opinion of the man who created the work is still worth far more than some asshole who read a translated version.
Sebastian James
You sound more like someone who's never read the manga but is trying to pretend he's a diehard fan, than like someone who actually loves the original. Please stop posting.
I didn't say it was "the theme," of the movie or the manga. It was A THEME that existed in both, played out way more in the movie, but still in the manga.
Luis Baker
It's all starting to make sense >general >upset at any sort of critism >kojima the westaboo praise It's /got/ plebs looking for a safe space until the season starts
The nicest version of nova was just a brain chip put into what appeared to be a 600 year old mp3 player
Joshua Turner
Ya know it was part of an experiment to target older readers, right? Seinin.
I mean of course you do, this is explained to you every time you start screeching about 'ITS OKAY FOR THE MOVIE TO BE SIMPLISTIC GARBAGE IT WAS FOR KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Lucas Ward
Yugo's death in the OVA left a genuine impression on me and in the movie it just happens. It doesn't feel meaningful or earned. Also doesn't help that he went from being an idealistic 16 year old to a grown man, he just came off as a dumbass.
Brody Collins
That's the thing that gets me about these fucking purists. They talk all out there ass about a fucking niche manga that was already way overshadowed by better and longer lasting contemporaries. It's good, but it's not some ground breaking existential work they keep claiming.
And as much as they hate to admit it, this movie has drummed up interest in Gunnm in Japan that hasn't been seen in years.
Parker Cook
Yeah, but the only reason he was harmless is because he didn't have limbs.
Jacob Mitchell
Oh to hell with that then. Kishiro has clearly hated gunnm ever since he scuttled the original run, and deeply resents the fact he can't get anything else published.
Aaron Davis
even Ido only plugged Alita to existing, whole bodies, he could repair Iron City cyborgs and be smart enough to understand her origins but he told her he couldn't repair or upgrade Berserker technology
Andrew Diaz
I don't get it.
Nicholas Morgan
Exactly, heh.
Carson Bailey
If you could read, you would've seen how I responded to your claim that theme was in the manga with a factual recounting of the actual theme of that arc. But hey, illiteracy is a hell of a drug.
Nolan Parker
Assuming that this gets a sequel. Do you think they'll shell out for a few licensed progressive rock tracks?
It's all surface level shit, you fucking moron. All the themes I listed out were STILL in the manga. Sorry the one you didn't like happened to not make it in the movie, but guess what? It makes it more unique for it, because the one you like is the theme of practically every other fucking science fiction movie in some way.
Jayden Stewart
so you're saying that, yes, ido clearly was able to manipulate and modify ancient martian super-tech.
John Martinez
>Can't counter criticism >Start seething on everyone and about everything. Jesus Christ you need to seek help.
go look how long it ran before it got canned and kishiro went back to gunnm.
Nicholas Turner

Isaac Russell
Who? also >spectical Cringe
Justin Sanchez
Iron City wasn't nearly as scummy or hell-ish in the movie. It felt like a poor city, but not one that's dangerous or overly bleak. In the OVA you can feel Chiren and Yugo's desperation to get to Zalem, it's reflected in everything they say and do. In the movie they still want to go to Zalem but it's not treated as seriously, Chiren is more sympathetic and her relationship with Vektor is more mutual instead of her kind of like whoring herself out for him. And Yugo climbing up the delivery chute is a last chance effort for survival instead of a desperate clinging last chance effort to get to Zalem.
Justin Jones
Friend, your options here are that you are either lying or you can barely read.
>Also appealing to authority doesn't convince anyone of anything >Is referring to the freaking author of the manga itself Gotta love it when a fan of something thinks he knows more then the creator himself, or that the manga is set in stonre when the creator himself has retconned his own shit a few times because lol why the fuck not.
Jose Robinson
Was it killed or did he just drop it?
Jason Cox
It's Sunday night and burgers are asleep. 1/3 of the posts are from 1 seething anti-Alita autist.
Are you seriously suggesting the themes I listed aren't in the manga? I read Rusty Angel through Conquest, years ago. They were all in it, in some form. The movie is not this drastic departure from the source like your autistic ass is making it out to seem.
My point remains that the humanity thing is boring and overdone. I don't care that it was a big part of the manga. It was my least favorite part of it. I'll take the warrior spirit stuff over that nonsense any day. I sincerely hope there is a sequel and that Motorball and the champion are a significant focus, because tournaments are pure warrior fun. This is what makes Alita a unique cyberpunk story to me, not the existential shlock.
Thomas Nguyen
Probably a few years. They have Cameron's production notes, equipment, and whatever else they need (other then money) at the moment. I think they started working on Alita officially in like '16, but that was when they were starting everything from scratch.
Cooper Ward
>the author doesn't know about his story than I do. Can you be even more obvious. >yep, that's an appeal to authority Whenit was 33% on RT you said exactly on the line of "the critics said it's bad so it's must be"
Cooper Jones
Yes but was it his own wishes or things like publishers that caused it?

interfering with obvious marketing is not trolling. It is the duty of literally everyone who isn't paid to be here.

your understanding is completely faulty. It is has been explained to you how/why. Thus, you are either lying or stupid. Thus you are now trying to convince me you aren't lying, thus, stupid.
Christopher Sullivan
he was basically able to turn a flashlight on a thing, reasonably say what thing is based on History and being a Zalem Doctor, and basically push a plug into an outlet
but Hugo and Tanji, going back to the initial point, would have maybe swam to the ship, thrown grenades to nothing in particular, scrape useless metal like they literally said everybody who cared already had, then remembered they had better shit to do in order to get money for Vector's scam

The URM tech did its own shit when Ido just put the pieces together like how he would with other cybernetics.
Xavier Jones
since you can't read, I'll help you.
the problem with the movie is it tries to hit all the same notes as the manga, except in new context, which robs them of their impact.
Ian Anderson
Based Brody >The movie’s patterned anti-authoritarian, anti-organizational, freedom-fighting themes are as vain and demagogic as its characterizations. Rather than explore complex issues and troubling experiences by way of sci-fi future-historical fantasy, “Alita: Battle Angel” debases them—and its exemplary character—under the force of a blinkered and reactionary model of drama and business alike. When will armond review it?
Ryder Barnes
A simple glance at the アリータ search in twitter with google translate shows an overall positive and glowing response. It also shows that the Japs are finding an interest in Gunnm itself again.
Christopher Smith
I can change and replace some parts and do preventative maintenance on a car even though I can't build one myself.
oh so cybernetic augmentation/modification is as easy as lego. and I don't mean classic lego, I mean like modern "four piece" lego.
Leo Evans
Lmfao it was you that wrote it, wasn't it. No one greentexts outside of this site you dumbfuck. It's not "my secret club" as much as it's just plain god awful cringe and cancer. Also, if you want people reading your retarded reviews, you need to cut that shit down for brevity. No one wants to read several paragraphs of you bitching like a baby.
Yup, as long as you're some sort of ripperdoc that has the luxury of conducting repairs for fucking free.
Lincoln Sullivan
Jesus christ just give me a modern gunnm game already
Jace Long
I see you have no arguments and are reduced to insisting everyone who criticizes the movie is the same person.
Lincoln Ross
A prime example of a film having heart. Would recommend.
Adrian Long
good point, Alita subconsciously bonded with the Berserker like Ido had never seen before and he said her plasma powers were up to her to figure out as well
Nolan King
So therefore the martian ship would be of extreme value.
Fact is, the crashed ship was something they came up with because ido couldn't have a superweapon in his basement if they wanted a roidrage motorballer to kill his daughter. Thus the implementation of the alternative is clumsy and nonsensical.
Jace James
>I have a presented to you a clear indicator of bias that would motivate him to be disingenuous You present your tinfoil hat. Ok man: - The majority of manga fans like it, including me - The author delighted about it and is full heartily supported it by watching it 5 times - The general audience loves it - The casts and crews are enjoying every second of working on it. vs. You: - One lonely user shilling for Disney for money
Jordan Davis
The only time I'm going to read a 3 page review of a film, is if it has valid critique of it's cinematic structure and usage of various themes or motiffs. Not "REEEEE CHANGE".
Matthew Sanchez
What did the nips think about it?
Joseph Parker
Im so jealous of those who gets poster by just watching the film, to all anons here from PH is there anywhere in PH that I can get poster by just watching the film? SM doesnt seem to do that.
Charles Ramirez
You are now making an argument seated in the idea that no one would ever say or do anything they do not mean for the sake of a lot of money.
Michael Gray
Sparked both new and old interest in the series since it's still going on.
Jaxson Watson
Well, ido found it in a crashed ship in the manga as well, only in a very short flashback
Levi Rivera
Platinum. Mediocre tech but great gameplay and feels.
Again, the issue isn't change, the issue is the absolute lack of actual change. Because they still want all the highest highs of the manga, but they don't want to do what is necessary to earn them and they were afraid to simply do something completely new.
Noah Cox
>seated in the idea that no one would ever say or do anything they do not mean for the sake of a lot of money. Said someone shilling for Disney right now. Maybe that's your own projection. Seek help
I see you have exhausted your capacity for argument.
Ryder Foster
see here Just search that Alita tag
Adam Hughes
What the fuck was Zapan's problem? Did he just not like it when he got his ass kicked by Gally?
John Hernandez
Pretty much his ego was just as broken as his nose by the end of that whole bar scene.
Chase Reyes
Kek. I'll just filter that retarded line now. You've posted it far too often already.
Brody Wright
>Hunger Games Sexdoll Waifu Edition: Battle Flop oof
Kayden Miller
>it's another reskinned Yakuza 6 with cyberpunk Kamurocho
Lincoln Barnes
As gracious a concession as I could hope for.
John Ramirez
>be egotistical cunt who's only "strong" because of URM shit he stole/found >some teenage girl kicks your ass in front of all your tough edgy friends and tells you that you don't deserve the URM sword >later on slices off your face, the only organic thing left about you that you kept because you're full of yourself and how pretty you think you look >Also at the end steals his "victory" against her, and his bounty reward She took everything he had from him.
Asher Ross
>Worm monster dude left to die in sewers but somehow quoting Nietzsche is deep and profound, how dare they remove that
I'm guessing skin grafts are fucking expensive since all he has is a face. But I fondly remember that Alita had skin in the manga as well or am I remember that wrong?
Luis Gutierrez
My capacity for argument exceeds your ability to quip. Better update your talking point checklists next time.
Jackson Flores
>have no argument >continue to make non-arguments
Christopher Foster
>discontinue making making arguments >attempt to assert intellectual superiority ya know this just makes you look dumb, right?
Ryan Baker
Well the story turns out to be about Ido figuring out from the beginning Alita was the 300 years old superweapon in his basement, and as soon as she crippled Grewishka, Nova did too
Being offered to explore Martian ruins to possibly know herself, or taking Zapan's equally RUM made relic supersword because iwas better with her, were things that just went from there
Colton White
the berserker body was venusian tech in the manga. it never had any connection to gally.
Cooper Wright
My argument is you have a tinfoil hat and until proven otherwise, your argument is invalid.
Asher Murphy
That is not an argument.
Mason Johnson
>in the manga What about in the OVA? I know the film takes from both.
Lincoln Rogers
Yes how could he have read a book it's not like he had been walking the streets for years by then
Daniel Nelson
And now you have an image of Makaku sitting down to read some German philosophy. Genius.
Jaxon Green
It unironically really is.
Landon King
NAYSAYERS BE DAMNED.
Japan seems to love or at least really appreciate this movie, and tweets like this seem to be the norm. Why are westerners so autistic when it comes to adaptational purity?
It is, and even though I understand that somehow you feel like a righteous man fighting against Alita horde, it doesn't make you right or noble. You are the definition of a troll. Nothing more and nothing less.
Zachary Morgan
It made 14% more than Aquaman in the opening week.
Dominic Walker
Because Gunnm was already a niche as fuck manga there to begin with. Plus its opening weekend is competing with some other really popular Japanese movies, plus Spider man: into spiderverse and Aquaman of all fucking things.
Alita is gaining social media traction though, so I'm curious to see its legs there.
Robert Nguyen
>making only 14% of Aquaman's opening YIKES-A-ROO-NEY-DOODLE-DOO! Is that a the sound of a proper belly-flop I hear?
Jaxson Perez
Hey look, more non-arguments. Do you not have a single idea to express?
Grayson Russell
Are you still doxxing people user? I know a discord channel full of Alita bros for you to mine.
Eli Cruz
And if you'd like to double check what I'm saying, just search this term: アリータ in twitter or google. (That is Alita). You can also search it as a hashtag too.
Elijah King
>literally all criticism is from the same person!
its hilarious when shills cry samefag
Sebastian Perez
>I know the author only likes the movie for money >I know you beat your wife >Now PROVE that I am wrong, or I will call your argument non-argument. That's you right now.
Charles Bennett
>a strawman is you! facts still remain tho. pesky they are.
Wyatt Perry
Your double spacing pattern, copy+paste talking points, and thread jumping are unique around here. Now get a trip too so I can filter you.
Michael Cook
wait.. are you saying that as if it's a bad thing?
Fact remains that you have no proofs for your conspiracy theory.
Robert Smith
That would be a single space, my dimwitted friend.
But don't go trying to use that "reddit spacing" maymay, that would be pretty ironic considering your outsider nature.
Isaiah Jones
It's probably a different guy. The one you thought of is either reverse image searching your images, calling you tourist, requesting 'insider' meme knowledge from you, posting Twitter and Letterboxd accounts or Facebook, Twitter and some Box Office forum screenshots.
Josiah Adams
>that would be pretty ironic considering your outsider nature You just ousted yourself for being from reddit and doxxing people.
Samuel Walker
A fact is not a conspiracy theory.
Wyatt Bailey
It is always so hilarious when shills to call samefag without a hint of irony.
Nicholas Thompson
I got my poster by going to a special, early screening. I doubt they hand out posters in every regular showing.
Dylan Robinson
No but seriously, what in the fuck did he mean by this
It might be either two or one. I know the autist is crafty in his crusade, which he announced right after watching the camrip version of Alita several threads back.
Austin Hughes
Because it came out the same time Tonde Saitama came out, and that movie has more appeal to the General Public than Alita
If you are interested further in this "fetish", watch the movie Tetsuo the Iron Man.
Henry Gray
Adapting something to a new media doesn't mean adding new shit. Adaptation should enhance the original source for the new format. It should not insert wholly different ideas into the story. It should bring the story to the surface using the tools of the medium. You may need to cut some things or musb them together for time format and pacing, sure. Stop accepting drastic changes as needed. You've seen too many Hollywood films that drastically alter the source and insert Hollywood cliches and hollow values.
Ayden Hughes
Facts in living in your head, rent free. It's your loss, and the world moves on without you.
Seriously faggot? That's going to get deleted, too.
Hunter Howard
Why? Why would you make a new thread at this point?
Parker James
The fact is, kishiro saw the movie so many times as part of the international release tour. Which means he was part of the marketing campaign. Which makes anything he says suspect.
You can't refute this. What you can do is continue to post inane garbage.
Nathan James
what they did to Mukaku kinda reminds me of what Nolan did to Bane
Josiah Campbell
Cameron confirmed based boy
Kayden Brown
Born from a yolkless egg He has dominion over animals He walks the world, entrail diviner And when the stars are right He locks the door behind the door behind the door
Carson Rivera
Checked and like it matters, anyway. Jannies are going to delete it like they did the last one.
Jose Morales
Are mouseshills MK Ultra victims? It's like they are terrified of Capt. Mumble failing. They're lashing out everywhere.
Brody Moore
Captain Marvel is such an important movie though!
Hunter Roberts
>The fact is, kishiro saw the movie so many times as part of the international release tour. Which means he was part of the marketing campaign. Which makes anything he says suspect. >Promote your child adapted right >I-I must be a bad person doing it for the money. I would say the fact that you insistently trolling Alita is getting suspicious. I don't think you are doing this out of personal feelings but for the money. The irony of this will definitely fly over your head
Parker Evans
Ghost in the Shell 1995 is the gold standard for adaptation. As it took what was essentially pornography, identified the unique, notable, and explorable aspects of it, and focused upon them. The result is something that is clearly honoring the source without being identical or derivative. It even came up with some new ideas based upon the core aspects of the source material. It was fresh, interesting, and is just about timeless, because none of the operative concepts can be dated, due to how they're all still entirely theoretical concerns.
Gunnm could've been treated the same way. But clearly wasn't. It was treated as a repository of scenes to be copied into CGI, the context of those scenes ignored for something "tighter." The final result is a mess of a movie that cheapens and weakens the source.
>The final result is a mess of a movie that cheapens and weakens the source. Actually it made sense for the medium and the audience it as to attract for a bid budget movie. The movie is not perfect but is the best attempt so far with a lot of dedication, heart and love put into it. The main character is very endearing. More move like this needs to be made.
>but is the best attempt so far speed racer and edge of tomorrow, you dumb nigger.
Henry Jones
Still have to play it. Barely ever play vidya these days, especially nothing recently released but my brother recommended it to me too some time ago, so I actually plan on getting it at some point. Probably next winter.
Jonathan Myers
>Ghost in the Shell 1995 is the gold standard for adaptation Opinion discarded.
Jeremiah Mitchell
Edge of Tomorrow is just another novel adaptation though.
Xavier Parker
>That user that keeps posting Alitas """mom""" >like Mars Chronicle material is even canon or relevant to the Cameron movies >like he is somehow BTFOing Alitafags Alita being literal cancer is at best a fun curiosity >his threads keep getting deleted O I AM LAFFIN
Matthew Stewart
Yes, and?
Julian Parker
Play the original NieR first.
John Williams
Or its a funny image/concept.
Dominic Morgan
Damn. That's nice. ...but I was thinking something more like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.
No it's clearly him thinking it will stop people from loving Alita or her movie.
Connor Taylor
Yea, a japanese one, with drawn pictures... of people with large eyes...
Jace Carter
I don't know, I have a good feeling that Alita will be remembered as one of the many examples on how to adapt a manga into live-action in the future.
Carter Cooper
Mouseshills is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. Sites filled with false reviews. Critics intimidated by the threat of charges of racism. The accumulated filth of all their money and murder original ideas will foam up about their waists and all the whores and Mouseshill will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll look down and whisper "I do not stand by in the presence of evil".
I didn't care for the game. Maybe my expectations were too high.
Jonathan Miller
>using ellipsis... wrong... kys
Chase James
I did not expect her to be cute, what the fuck.
Luke Morris
Yeah that one looks like a troll's thread. I'm not totally convinced but I see a pattern.
Robert Clark
It's not like you need to play it to understand the story since they don't exactly share characters but NieR shows you how the world turned into the mess it is in Automata.
Carter Fisher
>Alita will be remembered yea, i wouldn't bet on that.
well, WB was totally terrified of touching batman for years. So much so they manufactured a completely new one before going forward after the nolanverse.
Aaron Campbell
Was he Nova?
Angel Foster
He bought the rights to it back in the 90's you dumbfuck.
Henry Garcia
it only took 5 million worth of CGI to make michelle rodriguez bearable to look at.
also next general is already up.
Jason Russell
ACTUAL new thread ignore the troll
Joseph Gutierrez
Not for you maybe but I was thoroughly surprised how I enjoyed it despite only hearing about Gunnm through the grapevine in the 2000s.
