>12 years later
>no one has been able to rival his performance
What went right?
12 years later
>LOOK AT ME MOM, I'M ACTING!
Every DDL flick after The Boxer.
he showed restraint in Phantom Thread
Jake The Nightcrawler did
I think it's more about what went wrong.
We've had about 9000 superhero movies since then and 3000 reboots. Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, Robert Deniro...so many great actors of the past couldn't exist in today's cinematic climate.
It's because cinema went from an art form into a commercial shitfest. Humorously boards like this legitimize this phenomenon and are causing the death of actual cinema.
>12 years
where did the time go
My father told me not to get old. I should have listened to her.. I mean him.
AHEM
U talking shit, kino is there and is always delivered, also, you just listed commercial old fellas lmao
Sure they are great and delivered outstanding performances, but I'm here to confirm that there are new faces delivering good shit as well
DDL is overrated, so is the brother of that chick that is cute and ugly at the same time
this one was literally just casey affleck when the director tells him to act all emotionally closed off and shit. I really did like this movie but I didn't understand the praise for his performance at all.
>waahhh wahhhh I accidentally killed 3 of my children , I'm so sad boo hoooo.
He needed to get over himslef
>no one has been able to rival his perfor-
I'll take look at me mom I'm acting over monotone mumbling that's popular in movies now anyday
What I understood from the film, was that capitalism will eventually destroy religion because the pursuit of the highest profit at any cost is morally bankrupt.
More like
>capitalism and religion are two sides of the same shitty coin. and also the foundation of america
Why do people care so much about America?
It's the most powerful and relevant nation in the world? wild guess
the movie also, yknow, happens to be american
Because we own you
Nah. Every Leo picture you can never forget it's just Leo strenuously being Leo. He's good but pretty one note.
Christian Bale is closer as a comparison but still not DDL tier.
Leo was good but recently he’s just been giving Oscar bait performances
Why did he retire bro's? Is it because Hollywood has declined so rapidly into political correctness?
He just seems like the sort of person who would hate that shit.
This is like the third time he's retired though
two performances as good, if not better, and in the same movie.
EXCUSE ME
it was simply too subtle for the plebes to appreciate, im afraid
Biggest snubs of this decade. Amy Adams, too.
If-if-if you already know the answers to your questions than why ask, PIGFUCK?
QUADS OF TRUTH
He doesn't actually like acting. The guy is a carpenter.
joaquin phoenix was good but hoffman is alwasys overrated to me
this kino is where i discovered DDL. i thought he was the best actor alive. set out to watch all of his other movies. got gangs of new york. watched a little bit and decided it was gay. that was the end of my quest to see every DDL movie. there will be blood is still fire though.
every movie with decapreeow is gay
i liked wolf of wallstreet and catch me if you can. i guess the revenant was alright too, but i'd never watch it again.
Isn't that the point? 1 part casting to 1 part acting. Daniel Day Lewis was born to play Daniel Plainview, DiCaprio was almost made for the Gordon Gecko role (his name escapes me)
If he was so good, why don't I know the title of this film?
>He hasn't seen Basketball Diaries
did you seriously think wolf of walstreet wasnt a gay movie?
you are literally gay
because you're a pleb
