The only things I've found is that the movie isn't quite accurate to real life and Don's real life family weren't consulted (which is at least understandable to a degree), and the typical complaints that the film promotes Mighty Whitey mentality.

Do The Right Thing may be the most overrated film ever made.

The family of Don Shirley weren't consulted at all until after it was made and released statements calling people to boycott the film and that there were inaccuracies.
