Why do people consider this a good movie?
The acting was terrible
The story was basic af
>muh father son relationship
Only thing decent, and hardly that was the cinematography

I cry every time at the ending.
Literally 3 people like it
You're a kid so you don't understand it
I watched this movie when I was 11 in my family's hallway closet with my little sister's best friend and made out with her. I don't remember anything about the movie itself though.
you wouldnt get it because you hate your father, just like how most of /tv dont get romantic movies
It's good. The acting was great, the cast also stellar. We get to see fun middle 20th century hijinks with Ewan MacGregor. It's got all the marks of a Tim. Burton film but, at last, with no Johnny Depp. Additionally it's not stuffed to the brim with gothic imagery, it's gotta be Burton's most refined and restrained film he's ever done.
Billy Crudup was also perfect as his self insert.
Zoomers don't understand movies like this, because they don't have fathers. Millennials still had manly dads for the most part, zoomers were raised by the first onions generation (Gen X).
>tfw OP has no sense of wonder
it happens to the best of us
>The story was basic af
Lazy superficial criticism is lazy and superficial as fuck
Simple or basic doesn't necessarily means bad. Chaplin movies have simple basic stories and a century later are still as effective. Any movie using a Mcguffin is simple as fuck from a screenwriter's POV, yet we have several classics using this basic scriptwriting technic.
One of the comfiest movies in my collection. Quit being such a fag op
this movie made me cry, fuck you
It was not especially good but it pulled on the heartstrings just enough to be memorable.
ITT: daddy issues.
noone's denying it pal
I still need to watch it. The only Burton movie that made me cry was Edward Scissorhands
>tfw no dad but still liked it
I watched user watch this movie in his closet with some girl and he awkwardly made kissing noises with his lips, I fucked her later what a slut
movie is a 8/10
I thought it was fucking awful. 2 and a 1/2 hours wasted. Thanks Yea Forums
I watched user watch another user who was in a closet or something like that, but I didn't see the movie itself because I was too many degrees of separation away
The girl was a cute
it was great, the whimsical fairy tales, the flashbacks, the extraordinary-ness of it all, the ability to bring exaggerated old stories to life through storytelling and film was great.
Was the dad a mentally ill mythomaniac all along?
I intently watched user watch user watching something I couldnt see but judging by the reactions was clearly enthralling.
