Vice - shitty editing and directing, tonally abhorrent pretend my little politics. Adam Mckay is so low IQ it isn't even funny. The Favourite - honestly one of the most pretentious movies made this year and one of the most fake period pieces imaginable with no interesting characters and hack directing and I thought i liked lathimos. Emma Stone get another nomination for what? Her accent is atrocious and her acting laughable along with the poor film. Green Book - driving miss nigger 2.0 Blackkklansman - very mediocre movie, with almost nothing special and not very technically good but nominated bc my spike lee muh black people muh political climate A Star Is Born - so droll and horribly directed / casted / acted. Extremely boring, extremely insulting and cliche and just basically exists as propaganda and award bait. There is nothing original or good about the filmmaking Bohemian Rhapsody - Bryan Singer the capeshit director makes another bland movie but it's about Queen so americans have to froth at the mouth and nominate it Black Panther - 7 academy award nominations for a marvel movie that makes mediocre to bad marvel movies look good. It's a fucking shitfest and an insult to the entire awards show Roma - even if you dislike it, this movie has more cinematic effort put into it that all the other nominations which means it wins hands down
Roma should win but there's no way Hollywood gives an arthouse movie the biggest price.

Cuaron is a godsend and the only saving grace the academy even has, given they are nominating black panther for many awards. It's gonna win directing, best picture, best foreign picture and best cineamtogrpahy (which they aren't even airing when its a major category)
Academy likes Cuaron in general though and he's a minority. A foreign minority back and white film winning best picture would make history as would it being a netflix movie
