Name one live action made in Japan outside the Godzilla franchise off the top of your head.

>Calling MCU retarded
>but it's okay for Japanese to make 20 movies on one the same Mary Sue

One live action what?

new one looks like major kino, saw the trailer before that alita trash and got really interested in it

Prince of Space

Tora-san

terminal race autism.

There have been like 4 of these in the last few years.
>B-but they were all reboots!
Like half of films in this series are reboots.

Ultraman

A creature born from their disdain for amerifats can never die

even the shittiest Godzilla movies had more passion put into them than capeshit

I'm hoping it's better than the one from 2014. That was terrible. Killing the emotional core 30 minutes into the movie and keeping the big guy offscreen until the last 15 minutes were decisions the film never recovered from.

What's the best city destruction in a Godzilla movie?

Live action what? Series?
Stray Cat Rock
Female Prisoner Scorpion
Battle Without Honor and Humanity
Lone Wolf and Cub
fucking Zatoichi (more films in about a decade than the entire Bond franchise now)

>Lone Wolf and Cub
How does this stack up against Kurosawa's films?

As someone who saw all Godzilla movies, my vote goes for Shin Godzilla, followed by GMK and the original (not a lot is shown, but it hits in the feels).

In Gamera vs Legion a whole city is literally nuked, but it doesn't count

It's grindhouse samurai so not really combarable. Well shot, great action, lots of over the top blood splatters, all around good time, but very thin plot (it starts off as a revenge story but never gets to finish, you need to read the original source for that)

Same, it's kinda obvious we are not getting the shinobli twins for Mothra, just hope the thoth from ST doesnt become her friend or something like that. And the action doesnt dissapoint.
Too bad Toho can't make another G film until 2024, maybe they can give Gaigan his own movie since it's become the most memed kaiju lately. But I wouldn't mind a new heisei-style Gamera saga

The Super X was out of place in an otherwise grounded Cold War film. But it did breathe some life into a surprisingly dull attack on Tokyo.

Haven't watched it in ages, but its a pretty decent movie.
My introduction as a kid to Godzilla and hooked me 4life
