This is a perfect movie. You may not like it, but this is what ideal film looks like.

I don't get the hate for this movie
Funniest scene right here
It was my favorite as a kid, it still makes me laugh.
>scene where he gets hit in the face with a garden hoe and calls it “dirty ho”, then apologizes and tries to make out with it
>scene where he gets hit in the balls pretending to be a piñata and it cuts to him dreaming about wearing a dress on a swing
It was a perfect 10/10 movie for 8 year-old me.
>it still is
:( just
Do they make children’s movies like this anymore?
For you, the thread theme
m.youtube.com
>Jewish lawyers at the end
It’s....it’s perfect...
>Cat!
>Now that's MY name! euhuehuehuehueh
>who are they?
>magical, time-traveling ELVES! ehuehuehuehue yeah, magic!
>...
>okay they're my lawyers
>*babysitter on couch watching actual footage of a mass brawl on the floor of Taiwanese Parliament*
>*racist kung-fu special effect sounds are added on top*
>"you tell dem Wai-Jung! no more big guhvonment!"
Why did they allow the release of this film? We weren't ready for something so beautiful to be shown to our children. The level of comedic excellence could not even be understood by our greatest minds.
its a very good movie and people are morons
it's inconceivable how people can be so wrong about this masterpiece. critics, whatever, they're wrong all the time. but audience scores are usually reasonable so this is baffling. cat in the hat is literally the funniest movie made after 2000. if you don't like cat in the hat you are not just wrong, you're stupid. I unironically believe it came before its time. if it came out today people would love it.
As a kid i loved it but my parents hated it
I didn't realize it was up on youtube in its entirety! wow!
youtube.com
a million views in less than two years and a 10k to 500 approval rating.
rewatch it now and I guarantee you you will still love it. it holds up. it seems to be made for today, not for 2003. it feels like something produced for the internet today, not something you'd buy on DVD 15 years ago.
I'm sitting here, actually close to tears, because I loved this film so much, it's actually so incredibly good
Also, to the retard critics
>you're not just wrong, you're stupid
Nice stealth quote.
And it would be too edgy today.
>I have a problem with the word dog, per say
>because like, I think it's really really wrong
>but I will gladly hold your canine-american
youtube.com
>yfw this is also peak alec baldwin
pure kino
well it says it's "enormously funny"
I might give it a shot
It's because people are more focused on the source material than the finished product. The Cat in the Hat is a mediocre kids movie. It's a terrible Dr. Suess adaptation. But it's a very good comedy.
Can anyone tell me how I can email Bo Welch
I really just want to tell him that I love the movie and everyone else is stupid
It's a really silly film. If you're using it to distract a group of kids and you throw it in it becomes kino.
If you haven't seen it yet, there's no excuse. Watch it now.
This is the only film with unanimous Yea Forums agreement. Not one person in this thread has said something bad about it.
It is a perfect comedy.
Pls don't let this thread die
I'm lurking
I've just downloaded it lad, this thread's done it's job, don't want it to die either :((
any other hidden gems like this?
I really thought Paul Blart Mall Cop was good
youtube.com
peak kino
THe fucking scene where he answers the phone with "City morgue", god this is actually so good
cat in the hat was my first lesson in not trusting critics
this movie was fantastic and those fuckers hated it because it wasn't a direct adaptation of the book
/dmg/ - Dead Memes General
Jesus this is bad
The world gives me an anxiety. I couldn't watch this movie high.
Even when the movie came out, I didn't understand why everyone was planning it
Unlike other Yea Forums memes Cat in the Hat is legitimately hilarious and quite a fun movie
Masterpiece
This movie sucks, everyone ITT is a pleb faggot.
This film is a pleb filter, retard
Yes, in that people who liked it are complete plebs
I love this movie in the sense of it being an interpretation of what hell looks like.
based low pass filter poster
yep it's kino
I loved this kino flick. Sets looked great
I saw it on tv because an old friend had little brother and sister were watching it on tv. I thought it was going to suck but I am amazed all of work they put into presentation. Myers did a good job in this one. Pretty trippy movie however.
>"You mean like at Universal Studios?"
>chaching
kino
the most kino moment in the movie.
it has so many layers.
Wouldn't have it any other way, lad
BASED!
i have no idea why i watched that film so many times if i hated it
Had such a crush on Dakota Fanning like you wouldn't believe
Don't worry, I was 6 when the movie came out
This movie was on drugs and i loved every second of it
EASY LIKE A SUNDAY MORNING
Only when i saw the nostalgia critic video did i realise peole hated this
Unironically, the set and costume design was incredible. How the fuck did that end up happening?
You post this ironically but this is some great art direction
FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDUUH
Fired, fired, fired, fired...
*breathes in*
fired, fired, fired...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DATS RAYSIST
Well that's interesting because... SON OF A BI-
>that cut where Cat looks at the kids watching this sketch and they both look confused and bored, neither of them laughing
He knew.
The same retards that hate the movie because it's a loose adaptation would have complained about the movie being predictable, short and uncreative if they just directly adapted the book.
it's Memenuel Lubezki behind the cinematography, of course it's gotta look good
The director, Bo Welch worked on production design before.
Also
Cat in the Hat? More like Chuck in the Fuck!
There was no way to make this movie loyal to the source material while also making it the great comedy it was.
Not like the book is boring, is just not the tone of comedy you'd want for a film starring Myers. Maybe one day there'll be a nice animated movie for Cat in the Hat, so the live action one can be considered as the weird and funny shit it always tried to be, and not just an adaption
>Not like the book is boring
>Maybe one day there'll be a nice animated movie for Cat in the Hat
It's less than 50 pages long which is not conducive to make a full movie out of without raping the source material and padding it out with filler, like The Hobbit. It'd be a short film at best.
