NO NOOOOOOOO STOP WATCHING ALITA BATTLE ANGEL!!! THAT MOVIE WAS SUPPOSED TO FLOP!!! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO SAVE YOUR MONEY TO WATCH CAPTAIN MARVEL LIKE THE PAYPIGGIES THAT YOU ARE!!! WTF THIS WASNT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN WHY IS ALITA OVERPERFORMING SO MUCH!!! WE EVEN PAID OFF THE CRITICS!!! FUCKING STOP IT YOU PAYKEKS AND WATCH CAPTAIN MARVEL INSTEAD. SHE IS WAY CUTER AND STRONGER AND FUNNIER THAN ALITA.
I-IT'S A FLOP ANYWAY. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT ALITA WAS THE MOST EXPENSIVE MOVIE EVER MADE AND IT WILL NEVER BREAK EVEN WITH IT'S CONSTANTLY RISING 6 GORILLION+ BUDGET SO YOU WON'T BE GETTING A SEQUEL ANYWAY YOU INCELS
>mfw Alita surviving on word of mouth alone takes away tickets from Captain Foot Fungus >Captain Yas Queen Slaaaay is going to bomb at the box office now How can Brie even compete?
What the fuck are you guys talking about? It's not even close to break even. The movie is a colossal flop
Ryder Phillips
Yeah you tell him Marvelbro
Nathan Hughes
It's projected to make a total box office of close to half a billion, and only needed to do 350 million to break even. You do the math shill.
David Myers
Why 350? Alita costs 200M, break even is usually 200*2.5=500.
Hudson Cooper
Well, now is in its second week at 160mil. We'll see if it can make another 340mil by the end of its run. And still, a 150mil profit will probably barely cover marketing costs. Seriously, it's just facts. If you look at the numbers NOW it's a bomb
Michael Jones
That's what Fox says. I believe Fox knows best how much it needs to make since they're the distributor of the film in the first place. >muh marketing This isn't some Disney flick you fucking shill, apart from one cheap ass pre game Superbowl ad this movie has survived on word of mouth alone. Marketing for the movie is next to nothing.
>With a production budget hovering at $170 million (Fox says tax incentives lowered costs that were once north of $200 million) and tens of millions more in marketing and distribution costs, executives at rival studios estimate “Alita: Battle Angel” will need to gross roughly $500 million globally to get out of the red. Insiders at Fox say the break-even number is closer to $350 million. Well, that was a fuckup.
the longer you wait the less reason to watch it because Yea Forums gonna spoil everything anyway
basically to give you a framework of if it's good or bad think of the movie venom and if you liked it or not. The problem story and bland villains. But there's several characters who just charm the pants off you and oyu realize the movie is more interesting because you love these specific characters and they are so interesting you could watch them clean a toilet for 2 hours and be entertained. Alita Zapan and ido were best charcters
Ryan Morgan
It's worth every penny. i watched it 3 times already (2d, 3d, imax) and will watch 4th time next week in imax.
I have seen all of the scifi so I dont think I even care one shit about the plot, I watch to pass time
Oliver Gomez
damn christopher just doesnt care anymore, he takes his doll everywhere
Nolan Taylor
1) Fox/Disney merger isn't until June 2) James Cameron owns the rights to Alita, not Fox, and not Disney 3) Fox is the distributor, not Disney
Jordan Sullivan
it miss the laugh.
Ryan Kelly
EAT THE DISK SHILL!
William Morris
>Alita costs 200M, break even is usually 200*2.5=500 You are way off. This is a more reasonable estimate.
Alita costs $950 million + Marketing (1.5x$950 million) = $2.375 billion break even
Camden Collins
How do I get a daughterwife like this
Gavin White
Distribution rights are a thing
Xavier Kelly
Right and Disney isn't getting them.
Noah Clark
kek no. It needs to do 500 million to recoup all the unannounced costs associated with these overpriced movies, and even if it makes that execs are still going to consider it a failure because it will never hit a billion.
After finally seeing the movie I have to say Alita is 100% my waifu now. Movie may have been a bit flawed, but she was solid as fuck in it, would love a sequel
Charles Murphy
Keep your low quality garbage.
Jackson Long
>choppy framerate and rotating chinese hardcoded texts even the previous camrip was better than this crap
Gavin Edwards
>I don't believe anyone's Hollywood accounting. This, unless you know how to do the jewish shekel shuffle yourself it may as well be magic.
>you either are a fan of weebshit or a fan of capeshit I'll be a bigbrained centrist and say that your movies all fucking blow. I can't decide what is worse, a bug-eyed girl who can't climb out of the uncanny valley or a grumpy cunt with Hank Hill's physique. let's be honest, capeshit is always worse

OP, I must thank you again for this low effort thread knocking off one of my Brie threads from the catalog. It inspired me to spread the VOD links all over Yea Forums and Yea Forums ensuring we all get to watch this from the comfort of our homes. If you would like me to continue my efforts, please post more threads acting like a bitch and I will react in kind.

Colton Howard
So does this movie come in Japanese language? I hate English flicks
Parker Wright
Why does a cite cyborg make you so angry?
Camden Bell
This is literally the result of shit memes about Cameron being some sort of god when in reality his films are mediocre at best and his success is due to a a literal meme amongst normies.
They memed it for so long that now they think its true and they actually can't handle a film of his flopping.
Good god was it worth it, this board is right usually half the time but this time i'm glad I listened
Aiden Wright
9/10 viedo 10/10 aodio thanks yiffi
Hunter Turner
Definitely worth it. I watched it in 2D at first because I didn't know anything about it and decided to watch it because I thought it looked fun from a trailer when I watched the new how to train your dragon film (it released early here). I loved Alita so much, I went and saw it again in IMAX 3D a couple weeks later and it is one of the best films I've seen in 3D. I almost never rewatch a film in the cinema. It's shot very well, the action looks amazing, especially the motorball, and the world building is so immersive in 3D. Totally worth it.
Carter Perry
>american box office Check worldwide. Americans only care about capeshit and cartoons.
Angel Turner
> Alita-fags not understanding basic accounting, let alone movie accounting.
> Still shit-posting and circle-jerking over their robo-fu.
I have no sympathy for you, but you have my pity.
Nolan Nelson
>[anyone with eyes] says 500m >Insiders at Fox say the break-even number is closer to $350 million.
this is slimy corporate executive speak. a number that is slightly less than halfway between 350 and 500 would be "closer to" 350 than to 500. so what they're saying here is the actual number is between 350 and 500, if it was less than 400 they'd say "closer to 300." So its more than 400, but not so much that it would be closer to 500. Thus the actual number is about 420m, give or take 3 million. That would put the marketing at about 40m which really fits considering how utterly shit it was.
Camden Torres
> An overperformance for How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (which took its share of PLF auditoriums) was bad news for Alita: Battle Angel. Fox's pricey ($170 million) sci-fi fantasy, directed by Robert Rodriguez and co-produced and co-written by James Cameron, earned $3.14 million (-58%) on its second Friday in North America, giving it a $$51.8m eight-day total. That positions the Rosa Salazar actioner for a $11.3m (-60%) second weekend and a $60m 11-day cume. Unless it rallies next weekend (which it still could, since there are no new biggies aside from A Madea Funeral), a $100m domestic gross is now a pipe dream.
> At this point, it's looking closer to an $85 million domestic finish, about in line (give or take inflation) with The Lone Ranger ($88m in 2013), John Carter ($72m in 2012) and Terminator: Genisys ($90m in 2015).

Logan Reed
Found this gem of a thread on page 10. Can't let this one slide off quite yet. Have a bump for Alita a cute. CUTE!
