this is my gut reaction without thinking and no revisions
not ordered
>bass
>s
lmao fuck off
i play the bass and it's not even close
Trumpet & cello are rated too low. This much is obvious.
>self hating bass player
too generous for many instruments
stupid opinion
if it's good it's good
generous
kiss the tip of my dick
The oboe, harp, and organ are S tier. Change my mind.
same as gut instinct
>harp
fuckin nerd
>vocals
>anything but the lowest tier
Surprised pan flute banjo are so high.
>Triangle in A tier
Fuck off.
>Trumpet in C tier
How??
There is no excuse for STEEL DRUMS being above that many instruments, especially not bass and saxophone.
this is stupid. every instrument is S class when used properly.
Except ukulele, the most obnoxious instrument ever created.
the exception that proves the rule.
I love "solo" instruments the most, but I don't really hate any instruments
kek
Good taste, accordion is a bit too low though
It is ranked by the instruments I enjoy listening to most in performance or live context and personal taste (from a non-musician's perspective).
I consider C-tier a nuisance when I hear buskers, especially the solo violin "playing" to queued backing tracks, though I am partial to the fiddle in any band. Harp is probably the absolute worst acoustic instrument on any given recording or in an ensemble. I enjoy hearing songs or improvisations performed by talented people who choose some object that is obtainable or requires urgency to become skilled with (Musicians who may actually be needed in their community; typically start from primary school onward).
Most synth presets sound incongruous simply because it has nothing to do with the human experience; they need to stop being used in a non-electronic music context. The unworthy or a-social "feel special, to where THEY don't have to participate and try to play well with others" (the sampler would be "F tier" in most contexts).
Also, the electric guitar is a beautiful sounding instrument once you stop trying to use effects pedals.
Objective ranking
Move Piano up to SS tier and Organ to SSS
move drums down to C tier

nice autocompiler neet. had your tendies yet?
the triangle is sometimes the only thing that make sense when composing and it's very useful
>the triangle is sometimes the only thing that make sense when composing
Can you provide examples?
good instruments: pianee, banjo, fiddle, geetar
ok instruments: pedal steel
bad instruments: others
Gut reaction, try to guess my favoured genres. Synth would be higher if considering its ability to emulate instruments ranked higher, but synth as it is commonly taken as an instrument is synth as I rated it.
Also, just noticed I put Ukulele in the wrong rank, should be low B for me. That was a misclick. Rest checks out.
>Drums S tier
>Cymbals F tier
Horns are S tier.
This is also the case for most of the percussion arsenal and not just the traingle. That's why I rated the percussive instruments so high because they sit on the bench waiting for the opportunity to be used and when they do and it's used smartly it can make or break a groove. This is just music 101 I can't believe you actually want proof when there's hundreds of years of orchestral music that exemplifies this.
oboe is great, better than flute and trombone
One of those instruments that doesn't often feature, but is fucking perfect when it does. First example that comes to mind for me is Man of Colours, incredible inclusion.
Blues, Classical, Folk
>"Prove It"
>"Find it yourself!"
Yeah ok...
Pretty close user, I would say folk, chamber orchestral scaled compositions, and quite fond of blues and Australian rock (of which the drums and electric guitar are undoubtedly needed, but don't rank as highly as instruments on their own merits for me). Noting that B is a "good" tier for me, not a knock.
if you don't agree with this image you are stupid sorry
steel drums are beautiful, i won't accept criticism
I fucking hate ukuleles
>that list
Cracker detected
piano is the king the rest are paupers
guitar is best girl
>synths anywhere but S tier
All these people putting bagpipes and percussion in the lowest tiers need to be lined up and shot
the maker of the list was a retard for not grouping most percussion as one. how the fuck is a triangle supposed to compare to a violin.
How long do you think it took them to make a saxophone sound right with primitive tools?
I just looked it up, and it took Adolphe Sax a few years to invent the saxophone in the 1840s after having created a number of technologies from the creation of other instruments he developed.
>of other instruments he developed.
I wonder what the saxtuba sounded like
I don't know, but I'm gonna have to listen to Le Juif errant, and find out later.
Synth is god tier and ukulele is shit tier, everything else is negotiable
Based accordion bro
only based take coming through
trips of truth. came here to post this
*blocks your path*
yeah, I have a soft spot for classy pop songs that use an oboe, like this
youtu.be
or Tanita Tikaram's Twist in my Sobriety.
Talk Talk and These New Puritans also have some great examples.
it's only obnoxious because of the people that play it. there's nothing inherently obnoxious about it.
sniffy opinion by OP
>bass
>S tier
>vocals
>S tier
go back
too cring to be based
pretty based
jazz enjoer
>blah blah blah
>piano A tier
fuck off
>cymbals A tier
>drums B tier
>hi-hat Ctier
what the fuck is going on with you?
The crash cymbals are one of the underrated instruments ever. Look at their use in any world class dci corps and tell me that they belong so low.
lazy + dimwitted
bad combo to be born with
praying for you
we have a similar list and u called me cringe for no reason
your opinion is always cringe
