Re-watching the OT it seems so obvious that Yoda wasn't a Jedi knight. He was a teacher, maybe a master of the Force, but just because you know about the Force doesn't mean you're a knight.

Giving him a light saber was beyond autistic. I can forgive Qui-Gon Jin's retarded ramblings about midichlorians--I can just assume that Qui-Gon had his own little pet theories about midichlorians or some crap--but I can't ignore Yoda's stupid little light saber.

Even George said he was a force guru and not a knight like Kenobi. He even said in the past before the prequels that if Dart Vader and Yoda had a lightsaber fight, Vader would win

it was just fan service for people to go "oh wow" THATS ALL, never would have happened without cgi, if still puppet, would stay puppet.

Gen X'er OTfags should just get yoda puppets shoved into their asses.

Those that can, do.
Those that can't, teach.

cringe.

This. Fuck that shitty puppet. It literally looked like a Sifl and Olly puppet.
It looked like absolute garbage, the CGI Yoda was far superior.

prequels were shit and are the early 2000s equivalent of today's capeshit for zoomers

Star wars is meant to be the adventures of Luke Skywalker and should only be comprised of the OT. Anything before and after the OT is dogshit and literal fanfiction tier or a toy commercial

you mean he wouldnt been able to take on the emperor + vader and would have needed to retire? wish Lucas did that

yikes

What infuriates me the most is that having yoda be so powerful in the force that he doesn’t even need to use a lightsaber and therefore fights by fucking your shit up with the true power of the force would be a much more compelling direction.
They sort of did this in TCW and CW miniseries but couldn’t reallt go fully against Lucas’ autism

>Prequels were shit
Yup, also the Yoda puppet was shitty and the CGI Yoda in the prequels was better. Also, since the first movie was actually intended to be standalone at first, Empire Strikes Back is fanfiction too. "Fan fiction" is a reddit criticism.

CGI yoda in the prequels was better
Maybe everyone shouldn't be allowed to post on 4cham

He should've had his own weapon
not everyone needs a damn saber

the sith shouldn't have had lightsabers either. It made sense for vader to have a red lightsaber because he was a jedi gone bad but it's stupid that literally every sith has a red lightsaber.

Its all because George Lucas had no creativity and just decided that every sith would have the title "darth" too. Fuck the prequels, the lightsaber was supposed to be the weapon of the jedi knights, no one else

>He even said in the past before the prequels that if Dart Vader and Yoda had a lightsaber fight, Vader would win
I mean, he lost to sidious in 3, it's not like he'd be able to beat Vader after some time.

I think the many criticisms against the prequels are valid. The Yoda one isnt. The puppet is ugly shit and it was fine watching him with a lightsaber.

Lucas was fucking retarded. He said in the behind the scenes that everybody was waiting for Yoda to "whip out his lazer sword and go to town" but nobody wanted that.
Last Jedi was mostly shit but at least it made the force seem mysterious and powerful with Yoda's ghost using lightning and shit.

>He even said in the past before the prequels that if Dart Vader and Yoda had a lightsaber fight, Vader would win
And I think that held up.

>Franchise called "Star Wars" involving an entire universe with alien species, planets and mystical abilities, all of which can be used to expand the lore and world building.
>It should only be about Luke Skywalker.

Everyone was getting autistic about force ghost lightning when it came out, but that was literally the one thing in the movie that I had no problem with. They're force ghosts, sure they can use lightning.

Why didnt he and Obiwan do that to Sidious?

It's almost as irritating as the jedi monks becoming pro-bono space shoulin monk police, and the clone wars becoming clones vs robots.

As opposed to the jedi knights being crusader special agent super spies with magic and the clone wars being some battlestar galactica-esque insurgency with added genocide.

damn y’all are autistic

ROTS takes place ~30 years before Jedi, right? How was Yoda agile enough to fight Dooku in AOTC but then is basically decrepit and dies of old age in Jedi? He says he's 900 years old, but 870 years old and he's jumping around like that?

shows you how much of a hack lucas was

>it seems so obvious that Yoda wasn't a Jedi knight. He was a teacher
What. When were these things mutually exclusive?
>Giving him a light saber was beyond autistic
Then who taught Obi-wan how to use a lightsaber? Obi-wan gave Luke pointers on the Millennium Falcon. Was Obi-wan self taught? Is Yoda incapable of practicing what he preaches?

>the lightsaber was supposed to be the weapon of the jedi knights, no one else
>implying useful design doesn't get used by everyone
Those insurgents should kindly stop using our weapons

Sidious kicked his ass once already. You don't think he could kick Yoda's ghost ass?

>Re-watching the OT it seems so obvious that Yoda wasn't a Jedi knight
Yeah, he's a Jedi Master. Not a Jedi Knight.

with all the bouncing yoda does, wouldnt a normal lightsaber make sense? im curious if hes the only jedi with an abnormal-length saber

Anyone else think the sequel trilogy should have been about ahsoka tano's secret daughter?
Having an alien girl main character would have been way cooler.

Of course the Sith would have lightsabers. Star Wars is a large part derived from Samurai flicks, naturally it would come down to swordfights between the good school and the evil school.

In the original thing, everyone was supposed to have lightsabers. Stormtroopers would have their own equivalents.

Ashoka is too niche of a character to hinge a new trilogy on. It's easier to have a blank slate like Rey, the problem is they haven't really gone anywhere with her.

Shorter length for comfort's sake. He also doesn't need a longer one given his skills.

"the force (/force ghosts) works in mysterious ways" is enough explanation

Yodas real power was basically being Egg Shen. And his 7 demon bag was the way he would weild the force. He was the only one who could go head to head with Lo Pan/Sheev with his "Peasant magic" and even then it would be a tie. His wisdom was his most valuable asset.

Having said that, Yoda should have still been a competent lightsaber combatant but only in so far as to enhance his defensive capabilities. While he would throw down some crazy force powers. And it was enjoyable watching Kermit the Frog leap around like that. Even if it was out of character.

There was a whole Clone Wars movie about her in theaters. And an entire series based on her.

ah bloo bloo muh childhood fantasy mobie is RUUUIIIINNEEEDD fuck you lucas, FUCK YOU ill never forgive the fucking light sabers

Lucas was smart enough to know that laser sword fights are cool and sell. Something that the sequel trilogy hasnt realized.

Fuck that, making Yoda some turbo-powered "most powerful jedi in quadrillion years, grand master of the order for the past 1000 years" is equally fucking gay and lame as having him hop around like a chimp on meth swinging a lightsaber
Lucas fell into that same funk so many others did with EU and what nu-Wars has now dialed up to 200%, where everything becomes masturbatory fan service and preoccupied with referencing and regurgitating shit from previous entries
He should have just been one jedi among many in the prequels, give him a role but don't fucking overdo it

>a coherent universe isn't important, let's throw in whatever shit looks cool
fuck off rian

But they can teleport behind you

>Re-watching the OT it seems so obvious that Yoda wasn't a Jedi knight. He was a teacher, maybe a master of the Force, but just because you know about the Force doesn't mean you're a knight.
How was it obvious?
Obi wan tells Luke that the Jedi were defenders of the republic and yoda was a jedi master.

>Giving him a light saber was beyond autistic. I can forgive Qui-Gon Jin's retarded ramblings about midichlorians--I can just assume that Qui-Gon had his own little pet theories about midichlorians or some crap--but I can't ignore Yoda's stupid little light saber.
A lightsaber is a weapon of a jedi and he is a jedi.

You OTfags spout such nonsense.

>ah bloo bloo
Was it autism?

No, that sounds like fucking shit.
