I just started reading it. In my opinion, it's unadaptable, especially not in liveaction. There's a lot of other wordly stylistic choices (like character designs, monsters, general background) that just don't translate well to the real film. It'll be denigrated to basic horror cliches and bad generic fantasy tropes. It's the same argument for why you won't see well adapted Lovecraftian horror on screen or why Junji Ito's stories work in manga format only.

He's too old for this role. Guts isn't older than 25 even after all of the timeskips. He joined the Band of the Hawk when he was only 15 and he was 18-20 during most of their campaigns.You would need another actor to play young Guts because that is pretty important to his story and you would then need someone who could pass off as a mature/manly 20-25 year old to play adult Guts.
