Why couldn't Oscar Isaac keep the same accent in this scene. He's literally just using his normal voice in every other scene & then in this one he decided to just use a southern accent for shits and giggles. Shit movie, should have caught this in editing.

Yeah. Acting was bad. Lens flares were extreme. Poorly written in a lot of ways, especially the group dynamic or lack thereof. Nobody really gets developed. Nothing precisely explored, things just happen, and a sudden end. The ideas carried the movie for me though, and I really enjoyed this scene and the one with the video then the reveal in the pool. The psychosis that one lady went under felt really forced but I guess someone can headcannon it to her being a former drug addict and thus more unstable. A messy movie but I enjoyed it mostly. The affair sublot was absolutely pointless.

I really enjoyed Annihilation. Granted, I watched it with a heavy fever but the whole aesthetic was both creepy as fuck and beautiful. Take the pool scene; that merging of recognizable anatomy with mold and flowering plant-looking shit. I loved that. It's disturbing and beautiful in equal measure.
